“I've always found art galleries to be quite intimidating places, with aloof staff, and populated by pseudo-art experts. Not a bit of it with the Slate gallery. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and completely informal, and with a stunning array of pictures available for sale. I was fortunate enough to be shown around by the proprietor, Ceri Williams, who was patient, helpful and very accommodating. The artwork on sale showcases Ceri's amazing versatility - pastel-coloured beach scenes, worked in acrylics, local views over Swansea bay, with storm scenes that capture the anger and energy of the weather with her brilliant cloud-work, and ink drawings of dogs, which convey the motion and energy of their movement. After all this, and after buying 3 pictures, there is an opportunity to relax in there informal cafe and bar on the ground floor, populated by friendly local people. This is a unique gallery experience, and I'd recommend it to anybody, even if you only want to browse Ceri's remarkable works, and enjoy a coffee afterwards! Definite 5-star rating!”
“Always a fabulous welcome and atmosphere. We'll worth a visit.”
“Our band played here. Busy music venue with helpful staff. Fab crowd and great atmosphere. Would recommend!”
“Like walking into grandads front room with the fire roaring and the music playing. Go enjoy a nice pint or any tipple of your choice. The staff are always very accommodating of any customer. Prices are very good aswell and I'm sure the atmosphere won't dissapoint.”
“Absolutely loved this place! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a fantastic selection of drinks. The food was spot on — fresh, tasty, and served quickly. It’s the kind of pub where you instantly feel welcome. Will definitely be coming back”
“Great portion size. Very friendly and attentive staff. Accommodated our odd request! I would definitely recommend trying the cast iron burger stack! Exceptionally good wine selection to boot.”
“I was here 2 years ago and it was so fun. My partner and I met all kinds of new friends. The drinks were good and the atmosphere was super friendly. Great music, great people! Security is also very much enforced but they're so welcoming and respectful... I felt safe.”
“Great pub !! Staff very helpful and welcoming great service highly recommend”
“We visited on Mother's day for a 3 course carvery meal. The staff were all lovely, especially Lois behind the bar who I had a laugh with & the very happy singing man serving at the meat station. The carvery quality was MUCH higher than Toby C. Big portions of meat, stunning roasties, veg fresh & topped up frequently and everything was cooked very very nicely. Our first visit here but it will certainly not be the last. Highly recommend trying this place, especially as the carvery prices are so good!”
“What a great addition to Llanelli. So much choice of beer from different countries and a wide range of welsh beer supporting local breweries. The staff are extremely friendly and happy to have a chat. You can just come and buy some beers or sit down in the cosy shop and enjoy a good beer. They offer great advice to beers while accommodating to your beer preference and they offer a wide variety of gluten free/non alcoholic choices. Highly recommended.”
“Lovely bar with a beautiful beer garden. Great atmosphere, nicely decorated, and very cheap pints! Always a different local guest beer on tap, as well as their own ale and cider, as well as serving many varieties of bottled beer/cider. Very tasty and reasonably priced cocktails too, £8 each! Couldn’t recommend more! Plus dog friendly and they allow you to bring in your own food from nearby vendors (e.g. the fish and chip shop next door)! Bar staff are incredibly friendly and always seem very happy working there!”
“Great Pub and live music venue. My band The Rusty Nutz played there (3rd time, so far) for the recent Lavendersweep Records stage as part of the Swansea Fringe Festival 2023. It was a great night with a great crowd. The staff are always awesome too. Great spot”
“Wonderful crowd of locals who made this raf veteran feel very welcome. I'm hiking around the uk, and one guy put the call out on Facebook to get me a tent, which he delivered the next evening, thanks free. I had drinks bought for me and even offers of accommodation, during my visits there. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough.”
“Lovely micro pub with friendly locals. OK range of beer and wine, including a double fridge for take outs. Lots of pale ales. Had 3 roughly 4% pales out of 8 taps when we went.”
“Lovely place staff on top form clean and very tidy place to be breakfast really great worth going for.”
“A must-visit place whenever we visit eldest at university. Great beers, nice seating just across the road overlooking the bay and was lucky enough once to come on a Sunday night when some beers were £3.50 a pint with free cheese and crackers to sample too!”
“Honestly it is no wonder why they have won the best wedding venue in South & Central Wales for three consecutive years. From reserving the date, to the day of the wedding (and the morning after!) they have been nothing short of professional, friendly, and exceptional. They have been flexible when our timings or food choices changed. From reception, to the wedding team, and the bar staff and everyone else at the King Arthur have been nothing short of perfection. Our wedding day flowed so seamlessly and smoothly it was like something out of a fairytale. Our wedding co-ordinator Annelise has been amazing throughout, and we were well looked after in her capable hands on the day, whether it be an extra drink for us or a moments peace away from the beautiful chaos. Nicola looked after us in the evening and was amazing, and a seamless transition. Justin the DJ was great and had the dance floor bouncing! The food for our wedding was exceptional, and highly recommended by ourselves and our guests. The venue is just stunning, and a treat to have our wedding there. We have eaten at the King Arthur many times before and have never been disappointed at the quality of the food. It was so nice to receive so many compliments about our wedding from so many different aspects of it, from the food, to the staff, to the venue and much more. If you want the wedding of your dreams, look no further than having it at the King Arthur hotel. Thank you Annelise and everyone there, we look forward to coming back whenever we are holidaying in the Gower. I honestly can’t thank you enough for the amazing day you gave me and my (now) wife.”
“What an amazing place and the food is proper chef prepaired not microwave ding like a lot of places. The depth of flavour and qaulity of the food was amazing, the staff are all very friendly and the waitress even helped us find some tradesmen ad we are new to the area. Service was amazing she was so chatty and welcoming and had a great knowledge of the dishes on the menu, will definately be back, no wonder they stack up the awards. The zoo at the rear is also a nice touch”
“The Pilot Pub in Mumbles, although quite small, was very welcoming. The bar staff were really friendly. They’ve got a good selection of different craft beers and the atmosphere was great. It was my first time visiting, but I felt very welcome. Thank you.”
“Staff that genuinely enjoy their jobs and want to be there. The BEST steaks by a mile in any restaurant in South Wales, you couldn't really ask for anything more. Usually go maybe 3 or 4 times a year, most recent visit for my partner's birthday, we both had the special 25oz Tomahawk steak, it was cooked beautifully and the service from all the staff was too notch. They should all be proud of the service they offer. Not many places in my opinion are deserving of tips, I'm not particularly a fan of doing it, but I tip every time here. Thank you seagers!”
“We went at a quiet time but the view out the front window was awesome. Lovely place with great food and really nice staff. Nice tapas style Asian foods, beautiful presentation and super tasty.”
“Well frequented pub that brews a range of ales on site, and also offers one or two guest ales. There's bottled drinks, spirits and a few mass produced lagers, for those who don't like ales. The pub is a bit of a time warp, but in a good way. I swear this place hasn't changed since I last visited it 25 years ago when I was in uni. The place is dog friendly and has an outdoor seating area. The barman happily filled a bottle of water for a couple of young lads who popped in. I just popped in on my own for a pint or two whilst on a solo bike ride, but the locals were friendly.”
“Really great find for us. Food exceeded our expectations. Service staff is friendly and professional. Restaurant is very clean and tidy.”
“Excellent Sunday lunch, possibly the best we've had in South Wales so far. Need to come again to check it wasn't a fluke! Plenty of happy staff buzzing around and the service was top notch. Very well done and keep up the good work!”
“Beautiful theatre, best place to watch a film. Great to be able to have a drink as well.”
“Perfect place to host a birthday meal with friends. We had the upstairs area and it was ideal. The staff couldn't do enough to accommodate and the food was fabulous as ever. Can't recommend enough, thank you for making my 30th birthday!”
