“Great community pub. Always very welcoming and a good range of beers. Dog friendly.”
“Excellent meal here. Credit to the chef(s), everything was cooked to perfection. Delicious. We had the mixed grill and the hunters chicken. I would definitely recommend this place for a meal.”
“My daughter had her day after wedding here. The food upstairs was displayed beautifully and tasted as good as it looked. A special area for people with allergy requirements but I think my daughter asked for that. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Dick Dazdardly did the music and was AMAZING play 2 sax and 2 guitars, not at the same time! He let people sing with him that COULD sing. Highly recommend it.”
“Delicious food, very friendly and helpful staff. The steak was very delicious, as was my partners rib rack. The desserts were excellent, plus 40% discount on main meals. Simply can't go wrong.”
“Awesome atmosphere and food. Some of the best Sunday dinner had in a long time. Love the old style and history of the pub. Definitely going back!”
“First of all the food is the best food I've ever eaten, the pork belly was delicious. The views are lovely, staff are friendly and the views are great. If we ever visit the same area will be coming again. If you're in the area and need a great place to eat this is it”
“I have been interested in cooling at this place for many years. Whenever I have driven past the car park was always full and when I stopped to talk to somebody they said the food is excellent so I knew it was a place I had to try. The prawn cocktail was very nice and the roll that came with it was so so cute. The Sunday dinner itself was really tasty. They was plenty of veg and lots of meat. The vegetarian mushroom Wellington was really tasty and although looked small was so so filling. I will definitely be going back it was delicious.”
“Best Sunday roast around! Had the slow roast Lamb, it was incredible. Service was great and fast. Friendly staff. Will definitely be returning.”
“Stayed here for just £65 and was genuinely impressed by the value for money. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent – tasty, well-prepared, and generous portions. The staff were friendly and welcoming across the board, from check-in to the restaurant. The shower had perfect pressure (a rare find!) and the hotel is ideally located with easy access to some stunning beaches. Would absolutely stay again – a great find!”
“We booked last minute on a whim and so glad we did. The service was fantastic despite their being a large private party going on at the same time. We were served very quickly, and the food was amazing. I'm a coeliac, and there was plenty of choice on the mezze menu, less on the main menu, but I still struggled to choose. The portions are huge but so delicious I ate myself to bursting point! We will definitely be back.”
“Even though I've lived in Bridgend for 32 years, I don't venture into the town that often. This was my first time visiting CL and wasn't disappointed by the food or service. It was a Saturday late morning and it was obvious that the place is very popular.”
“This was a fabulous fun filled evening with the locals! We played trivia and had lots of laughs. We won and took home the prize! Leah was a wonderful host and the locals welcomed us Canadians with open arms! Felt right at home!”
“Great local pub friendly owners+staff -- locals are also friendly and will talk to anyone - darts pool quiz +a football club run from here also entertainment saturdays +jam nite thursday + sky sports/bt + dog friendly +beer garden to rear”
“This is our second time eating here after recently moving to the area. First time we both had steak and it was faultless, I eat my steak blue and the waitress assured me the chef could do it (I'm always a little hesitant) she was bang on the money it was amazing i could of used a butter knife!!! this time my husband had lasagne and I had the belly pork, yet again it was beautiful. Hats of to the chef!!! All the staff are friendly and happy to help. We will definitely be back to this little gem... definitely recommend it.”
“Lovely food (we had a Sunday roast which was not as plentiful as ,say, Toby Carvery but was more than enough and very tasty), great dessert, nice and friendly service, and excellent views!”
“We visited the angel inn last night for the first time and it certainly won’t be the last. The chicken Balti was so tasty. We were served by Toni and she was lovely! I definitely recommend this place!!”
“Stopped in for lunch as we were walking along the beach. Bit of a trek from the actual beach itself but well worth it! The cheese & ham melt comes with a choice of white or brown bread, it also comes with salad and chips! The sandwich was HUGE and the ham/cheese was really packed in, overall it was delicious. We sat inside, there were tables outside but it was a bit hot - you can sit a table of 6, 2 x tables of 4 and a table of 2. So if it’s busy I’d imagine it can be tough to get a seat. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for some lunch down this way though!”
“Decent pub, good atmosphere and good staff. Very reasonable prices. Will definitely go again.”
“Really nice meal came out very quickly and piping hot good old pub grub!”
“Excellent Sunday Lunch. Lovely atmosphere the new Landlady is just what this pub needed ! Great 'Sunday Club' atmosphere!!”
“We were greeted with a smile and taken to our table immediately. Advised to order at the bar when we were ready. When we ordered the young girl couldn’t have been more helpful really made you feel that your order mattered. The food was served very quickly and was delicious. The only problem was that we were too full to order dessert. We will have starters and dessert next time.”
“It's a nice place 4 a drink children welcome and every one is very friendly”
“What an amazing evening. The food was fantastic along with the presentation. The service was also really good. In fact we had an amazing Friday evening. Nothing too much trouble, the chef is very amenable to a slight change if needed. Where are you people, this should be packed to the rafters. Amazing value, excellent portions too. Will be back very shortly”
“Stayed here for 3 nights and has been the best hotel I have stayed at. Price was £220 but worked out good value sharing the room with a friend (£110 each). Hotel is located in a great central location with a large car park 2 min walk away. This was handy as we could make a quick getaway to our days out in the local area. The room was brilliant. A really comfy bed. And a nice en-suite. The highlight of the room was the built in air con. Having this was a real privilege and made sleeping much more comfortable. Staff were great asking if we needed anything else. Would thoroughly reccomend anyone stay here. Another added bonus is you can take your drink upstairs if you wanted to chill out in quiet. A brilliant place to stay”
“Courteous people, quick service, scrumptious breakfast baps with everything you want without it being too oily. The lady was so friendly. What more would you want for amazing prices. It's one of those classic places, I'd go again. Remember to bring cash though.”
“1st time I've been there and not been threatened to be knocked out. Nice change”
