“Really FANTASTIC fish and chips here I don't ever remember enjoying fish and chips so much, definitely up there with the best ever..Would 100% recommend a visit to Beales when you come to Porthcawl. Little tip, try to get a table inside the restaurant as opposed to near the front door as the door doesn't shut properly and it's not so pleasant if it's cold outside. The staff kindly moved us to a warmer table which we were very grateful for. Very, very tasty fish and the most perfect batter ever. Can't wait to eat there again!”

“Stopped here with friends for a light lunch yesterday, and although I was a bit disappointed there were no sandwiches on the menu, I had the pancakes with fried egg, bacon and maple syrup, which was delicious. Our waiter - Jack M, I think it said on the receipt - was also brilliant, so helpful and friendly too. Please pass on our thanks for a job well done.”

“It's not often I can give somewhere top marks but today was a day when I could. My very first time here after numerous recommendations and I wasn't dissapointed. We arrived promptly for our booking and were quickly seated. Our server today was Steve, a polite and attentive young man. Very knowledgeable of the menu and anything regarding our eating experience. I ordered off the lunchtime menu, to start i ordered the Sticky Chipotle Chicken and to say I was blown away is an understatement. The chicken was perfectly moist and tender, the Chipotle flavour was on the money and the chilli jam on the side was a perfect accompaniment. For mains I ordered the filet Mingon and i added the beef dripping sauce. now to put things bluntly I'd say I was being served a michellin star dish. The temperature of the meat was perfect the accompaniments were well balanced and complimented the dish exquisitely. The sauce was something I've never experienced, the levels of flavour and depth gave me pure joy. Finally for dessert I opted for a selection of ice creams and I wasn't dissapointed there either. And I can't finish without a big thank you to our chef today Danny. With skills like that I imagine awards are not unfamiliar to you. All in all a fantastic experience. I will be back sometime, hopefully to try the Wagu.”

“I have been on numerous occasions to the Kingsbridge and have never once been disappointed. Went tonight and took my family with me. Everything was piping hot and so beautifully cooked to perfection. The deserts are to die for. And the staff are really nice and very helpful.i would recommend anyone who wants an excellent meal to go there. You will not be disappointed.”

“Great service... warm greeting on entering, friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout. The pizza was great, freshly made with a great balance of toppings. The onion rings were a bit disappointing as they seemed to be out of the freezer and deep fried, with a mushy onion filling... but there were plenty of them in the serving, and the dip accompaniment was tasty. It was only a small part of the overall meal, and everything else was 1st class. The cheesecake was very nice, and definitely recommended. We'll definitely be returning.”

“I have been interested in cooling at this place for many years. Whenever I have driven past the car park was always full and when I stopped to talk to somebody they said the food is excellent so I knew it was a place I had to try. The prawn cocktail was very nice and the roll that came with it was so so cute. The Sunday dinner itself was really tasty. They was plenty of veg and lots of meat. The vegetarian mushroom Wellington was really tasty and although looked small was so so filling. I will definitely be going back it was delicious.”

“Great little pub serving top notch food and drink at reasonable prices. The staff were great. Pictured is the buttermilk chicken burger with amazing chips. The steak was also excellent and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend stopping here for some food and drink”

“Very helpful, dogs welcome in front garden and front dining room. We had starters as my friend is Pescatarian (no veggie options on the menu). Food was hot and very well cooked. IPA and larger delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet so can’t comment on atmosphere.”

“Went to leaving do for a work colleague. Hired the summer house for the afternoon in case it rained. Plenty big enough for the 7 of us. Drinks were a reasonable price. Good atmosphere.”

“We had the most amazing night here. We had to find somewhere to book last minute to celebrate my sons graduation as the original place we had booked had to close due to a member of staff testing positive for covid. I called and explained the situation and the staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful. They managed to fit us in and in and I'm so glad they did. The food was absolutely incredible and nothing was to much trouble for the staff. I will be recommending this fantastic restaurant to everyone. Cannot wait to go back”

“What I found hilarious was that my partner and I were watching rugby on Saturday evening, and someone made a potentially racist comment toward me. I didn’t pick up on it, but my partner did. Then my partner and I were both checked out of the pub, but the person who made the comment wasn’t. Interesting situation!”

“Lovely old pub on the green, stayed at nearby Trecco Bay and visited the pub a couple of evenings with the dog on an evening walk. Didn't eat but the food I did see looked amazing. Very friendly and dog friendly inside too.”

“We had the Christmas carvery lunch today and it was very tasty. Plenty of turkey and other meats available, a wide variety of vegetables, stuffing and Yorkshire pudding. We really enjoyed. Food and service as always is excellent at the Aubrey Arms. We highly recommend a visit.”

“Booked their downstairs area for my halloween party this year. The staff were so lovely and helpful throughout the night. Drinks were decently priced and no fee for the venue just a £50 deposit which i thought was a steal! Would definitely book a party here again! 10/10 recommend for venue hire!”

“I went for a Christmas meal with my nan and her friends who are all elderly, their service was outstanding they offered to come to the table to take their orders which i was really impressed with as you don’t see that much these days and as my nan has arthritis and shouldn’t be walking too much i was thrilled with this. The staff were kind and very hospitable. The food was big portions and delicious. Last minute a few of us decided to change our pre order and they were very accommodating I highly recommend this establishment :)”
