“An absolute gem in this rallying harbour town. We enjoyed breakfast and teatime treats in the cafe/deli next door. Our brunch choices and coffee drinks set us a up for the day and we strongly recommend!”

“My partner booked us a table online for the same day for Sunday Lunch for around 3pm as a treat. The restaurant is so beautiful to sit in, and had a great atmosphere. The service was excellent. We were greeted and offered water for the table within minutes of being seated. All drinks were served in great time. The servers were happy to provide suggestions when we couldn’t decide between dishes! We were highly impressed with the menu and the quality of the food. The Roast Beef is incredible. I also recommend the Duck Pappardelle for starter. We will certainly be back.”

“Well now, what do we have here? A little slice of Italy has swaggered into Ballymena, donned its fanciest apron, poured itself a cocktail, and promptly stolen my heart. Gatto’s, you seductive little minx, where have you been all my life? Let’s start with the opening act: the Carne Platter — a carnivorous symphony of sizzling, seasoned magnificence that hit the table like a meat-based fanfare. Chargrilled, marinated, and unapologetically meaty, it set the tone for what would be an evening of gluttonous delight. Each bite was a hug from Nonna, if Nonna had a penchant for fire-grilled finesse and a cheeky wink. Then came the main event: the Pollo Alla Veronese — a dish that deserves to be serenaded by a gondolier while fireworks explode tastefully in the background. Tender chicken, cloaked in a rich, dreamy sauce, with flavour notes so intricate they could compose an opera. Every bite was a flirtation with perfection. My taste buds? Positively scandalised and begging for more. Around the table, my fellow diners were deep in gastronomic romance with their own dishes. Pizzas that were crisp yet chewy with toppings as bold as an Italian soap opera. And those sirloin steaks cooked so well they nearly applied for citizenship. Searing on the outside, blushing pink within — the sort of steak that makes you want to write poetry and take up woodcarving. To wash it all down? A few cocktails that danced their way across the palate, charming and boozy in all the right ways. A few pints of Madri added that continental edge — and gave the illusion we were somewhere warmer than Ballymena, at least until someone opened the door. And the bill? Surprisingly reasonable. The kind of total that makes you double check it, nod slowly, and feel vaguely smug about the whole affair. Gatto’s isn’t just great food — it’s a culinary cuddle with a handshake from value-for-money. This was my first visit, and I can confirm with absolute certainty: it won't be my last. Bravo, Gatto's. Bravissimo.”

“Had a delicious lunch at No.36 today. We had a short wait to get a table as it was so busy but it was worth the wait. The menu had lots of choice so much so that it was difficult to choose. We selected a Korean wrap and a chicken and sun dried tomato sourdough, both were amazing. Great food, great price and a lovely atmosphere, look forward to our return.”

“Had our staff Xmas do here this afternoon. Nothing was a bother to the person looking after us. He was a lovely genuine guy. Food was lovely and we had a lovely time. Didn’t realise till after they weren’t open till 5 so accommodated our lunch time request no questions asked. Highly recommend and love they are local east Belfast company which we love to support”

“Mediterranean dinner at Chef and Manager in Newtownards near Belfast. It is one of those places that do not exist on IG, yet known to locals and is always fully packed. We were so lucky to have got recommended it and to actually manage to get a table on a Friday! The food was exquisite, the flavours, the presentation, the staff, everything was done with extra care. One of those places when you feel the owners take it upon themselves to ensure you enjoy every detail. . What you see here is duck breast, so tender! Laid on some veggies, and a selection of sauces. Each of them takes you on a different journey. Second main was a rack of lamb (mint crusted), it had a charcoal flavour and the taste was complemented by Mediterranean veggies. Both dishes came with potato gratin. . For starters, we had beans soup and goat cheese fritters with beetroot and bread. I was so tempted to go there again during out short visit”

The walls were decorated with colorful tapestries depicting Indian scenes, adding a touch of cultural flair. Service: Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. They patiently explained the different Paneer dishes and was happy to accommodate our request for a specially prepared Indo-Chinese Manchurian starter. Food: Paneer Kadahi: I opted for the Paneer kadahi, a classic dish featuring cubes of soft paneer cheese simmered in a rich tomato,onion & butter gravy. The paneer was perfectly cooked, with a delightful texture that was both melt-in-your-mouth and slightly firm. The kadahi curry was bursting with flavor, a harmonious blend of all spices. It was served with a cheese chilli garlic naan, the perfect accompaniments for soaking up the delicious curry. Indo-Chinese Manchurian: We also tried the specially made on our request Indo-Chinese Manchurian. This dish featured a medley of colorful vegetables, including cauliflower, carrots, and green peppers, all coated in a light and flavorful sauce. The sauce had a delightful tanginess that was balanced with a Umami Taste. Overall Impression: This restaurant was a delightful discovery. The food was flavorful and beautifully presented, and the service was excellent. The willingness of the staff to accommodate our request for a special dish further enhanced the experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Indian dining experience near Belfast.”

“We have been converted! This pizza is now our favourite pizza in Belfast. I forgot to take a photo of the base, which to me is always the most important. It was well cooked, not 1 drop of grease on the box and very tasty. I'm usually a chunky chip gal but wherever they get their potato's - yum! Highly recommend.”
