“Been wanting to try the food here since seeing Matts videos on Facebook. We had to travel from County Durham to Basingstoke today so decided to detour purely for a Sunday Roast. The food is amazing. Nice and fresh and the red cabbage is out of this world! I had a standard gammon roast and my husband had a large trio of meats, which he struggled to finish. The staff are super friendly and nothing is too much. We will definitely be back”

“i dont know who cleans the pub on mondays, tuesdays, and thursdays, but they are the best cleaner in the world!!!! Also they have a really cute staff member named prince, he is the best ♥”

“The xmas day lunch was excellent. Better than last year in fact. This year the soup came with amazing bread and just enough. Last year the bread was ciabbatta type and really filling and stodgy. Criticism- more gravy and brandy sauce needed on dishes. I would like to thank staff, chef and everyone involved for making xmas excellent. We will definitely be back next xmas.”

“I have never been to Lye before, but going to get something to eat was no problem. The guys who served me were well understanding of how I cope with new places. The pizza was delicious and overall cost for having a Hawaiian pizza, can of pepsi and strawberry cheesecake was only a tenner! Guys, you have done extremely well! “My boyfriend lives in the village this tea shop is in and I’ve gone twice with him before to look around and went in only the other day on Saturday. Each time this cafe has been busy and overcrowded and I’ve felt so bad for the staff but each time, they’ve been exceptional. Smiley, friendly, quick and good at their jobs especially in a busy Christmas period. The food is beautiful and always quick and hot out of the kitchen; my eggs benedicts have always been perfect. I wanted to get everyone’s names so I could leave them here but they were so busy I couldn’t ask and they were so understanding when we moved tables and screwed up their seating charts even if we didn’t mean too. I can’t wait to come back again and try more of the menu, I hope all the staff enjoy their Christmas and know that they’re brilliant.”

“They have very big portions! We have the set menus, a few curry’s and the paratha and omelette combo. All the food was perfectly seasoned and definitely worth the price. We were so full we ended up having to take some food away. The waitress was lovely.”
