“Previously visited Cheals when based in Henley-in-Arden. This was our first time at their new location in Knowle and we had a wonderful time. The restaurant is much more spacious now and the interior tastefully decorated. So, first impressions were great. Our waiter gave a warm welcome and expertly guided us through the menu and wine list. A very capable front of house team. My wife and I opted for the a la carte lunch menu and with each course our enthusiasm for the next grew. The hardest thing is deciding between all the tempting choices on offer, so if your budget stretches to it, I'd go for the tasting menu for a real treat. The highlight for us both was the dessert course. What a selection of moreish puddings skillfully prepared. Hats off to their patisserie chef. We chose Cheals for our second wedding anniversary and were delighted we did. We'll definitely be returning soon and would highly recommend it to others too.”

“This place is so so lovely. We walked in and were greeted by the most friendly face. We went for breakfast at about 10am on Monday (today) and had service with a smile with everyone involved. The food was quick to come out and piping hot. We had two breakfasts - a small and a large - perfect sizing for a great price. Not a stingy amount of food for an extortionate amount of money, just good wholesome food with a decent price tag. The atmosphere was calming and cosy, the sausages were lovely, bacon and eggs cooked to perfection. Option of gluten free toast which was great and the option to choose between tinned tomatoes and a grilled tomato was a nice touch as I hate one and love the other. Will definitely be coming again for breakfast when we stay at the bloc hotel, which is just across the road.”

Alright Spud have definitely filled the gap in the area providing fantastic food at brilliant prices. Not only is the food of great quality, the service you receive is exceptional every time. “It is my favourite place for a cold day! The food is absolutely delicious, and nothing beats a warm bowl of soup on a chilly day. The restaurant has a really cosy atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for a cozy meal. We’ll definitely be back again!”

“Recently found this gem. I can’t believe I didn’t know about it until I went on my nieces Facebook as I don’t have FB. The malteser cheesecake and shortbread are amazing. I’ve been looking for cafes with homemade cakes and these truly are homemade, which is such a rarity! The staff also make the latte to preference such as decaf/ oat milk etc the indoor area is clean with tasteful decor. The outside seating is really lovely as it’s based in a pretty and peaceful location. There is a free car park that can be used. Owner is lovely and friendly. We felt very welcome. I was a bit worried as I’ve been to other places which are a bit hostile towards Muslims/ Asians but there was no need to be worried here. I haven’t tried the food yet but when I do I will edit my review . I’d love to see more cheesecake flavours as Gil is a great baker . I am a baker too and I have very high standards so that’s saying something . Im definitely not easily pleased when it comes to cakes. Overall really lovely cafe . I went to another cafe before I discovered Gils for homemade cakes and that was such a major disappointment in quality and taste and did not compare to Gils. Prices are really good for the cake considering it’s homemade and generous portions . Only wish I could visit more often but due to health problems I can’t but when I do it’s a lovely experience. “Came here with my mom, atmosphere is 10/10. The decorations are lovely, nice homely feel. The staff were lovely and very accommodating, always checking up on us. The chips were tasty and the cocktails were lovely too. Everything about this place was great. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.”

“Spotlessly clean and lovely friendly staff. We loved the menu, but as they were closing soon, we opted for sandwiches and a pot of tea. I had jerk chicken and rocket sandwich. It was really nice and spicy, with a generous filling. My partner had a cheese and ham toastie, which he said was excellent. Quality ingredients at decent prices. We'll be back over the weekend.”

“The mince pies were spectacular, honestly wish we’d ordered more. The biscuit tins were beautiful, we used one as a present. A special thank you to the bakery accommodating a late request to be delivered Christmas Eve. We can’t wait to visit the shop again and eat in, which both the wife and I did in the summer and the menu was stunning. Happy New Year.”

“An awesome local independent coffee shop with their own roaster. Coffee is great and the homemade cakes and treats are delicious. The folks who run Under Pressure are lovely. I’ve joined in a communal Saturday morning crossword a number of times and it’s the perfect weekend morning activity.”

“Been meaning to come here for a while, heard good things and I wasnt disappointed. Firstly thr location is pretty good, close to town but far enough so you can get easily parked. There is free parking just outside for at least 2 hours, plenty of time. Upon entering,there's a cool water feature with the cafe logo. Thr ambience is nice and it's decorated very nicely. The staff are really nice too very friendly and the food and drinks is served very quick. We went at a busy time and still got our drinks n food pretty quickly. Thr food itself is great very tasty nice range and perfect for breakfast or lunch. I had a persian breakfast and the flavours were great. The drinks were really nice too and made fresh and nicely presented. Overall it was a great experience and will definitely be back!!”
