βMoved to Calder Vets from another practice after being unhappy with the service there. I couldnβt be more pleased that I chose this practice and have been treated in an extremely friendly and professional manner since day one. The care and attention to detail has been second to none. Our cat is very relaxed and comfortable with the team and their passion for their profession really stands out.β

βBeen with Hirds now more years than I care to remember. Seen many excellent vets come and go there and the current ones are no exception. Reception staff are always helpful and pleasant too.β
βAny pets we've taken here have had an excellent experience and prompt and effective care. As far as we know, they're an independent outfit and not part of some large conglomerate, which may also account for their reasonable pricing. The only thing to watch is the parking in their yard, which can be tight and awkward, but you can usually park further away if it's a problem.β
βTerry was wonderful and put Elsa our golden retriever at ease as soon as we went into the room. It was clear from his approach that his main focus was Elsa and ensuring she was ok. Terry immediately put mine and my husbandβs minds at ease after giving Elsa a thorough check over - itβs so comforting to know we have a vet that we trust and who has a real, genuine care for animals. Thank you Terry!β

βThis vet is great. They found out the problem gave me options, and made my Sammy feel better. All at a great price. Thanksβ
βWe have used Shearbridge Vets for over 20 years with various pets. Theyβre always caring, compassionate, doing the best for the animal and discussing the issues realistically. Theyβre give you the pros and cons of each procedure and test, advising on what is best for the animal while also considering the cost - which is unfortunately a factor we all have to consider. This company only want to do whatβs best for pets and their families, they have never advised a test βjust becauseβ for profit, only for the animalβs benefit. I trust and recommend these vets to anyone who is interested / needs a vet. Whether itβs a check over or an emergency theyβve always been 100%, and we have had a couple of emergencies - including a house fire where the pets involved needed an urgent check up and were seen almost immediately. Thanks Shearbridge, Iβll be back next week!β
βThis is a very lovely little vets surgery. Staff are amazing supportive even to somone who are not registered to them. Compassionate and sympathetic to me about my pet who was looking like he needed to be put down. Luckily he pulled though and is doing very well now. Would recommendβ

βArrived for vaccine appointment. Dealt on time no long wait. Vet checked puss over eyes teeth weight and heart before administering vaccine. Talked to my puss just as I do to reassure her through the appointment. Gave some good advice on relieving travel stress. Puss went home feeling quite content.β
βMy Puppy Tilly went for a trial day today before her holiday in November. The staff were so lovely and welcoming to both of us. I collected her and she looked really happy, in fact didnβt want to get in the car but wanted to go back through the gate to see them all! Thank youβ
βWhen our dog sustained an injury recently we needed to visit the vetβs. The whole experience and process of initial urgent appointment to being referred onto a specialist hospital for surgery was excellent. All staff were compassionate and caring to us as owners and to our dog. Communication was brilliant in all aspects of explaining the injury, costings and the referral process for getting specialist treatmentβ
βI met Tony on the front desk and wow was he lovely and chatty, making me feel so at ease with the whole cattery process (as a first time cat owner). My cat spent 5 nights at Cherry Tree and came home relaxed and settled, which is a huge achievement! Obviously our cat missed us and was clingy for a few days, but they kept her routine and she was very well looked after. I'll definitely be coming back to such a lovely family run business. Thank you teamβ
βConsistently excellent service from all the staff involved, ie, front of house staff, nurses and vets. They all have an excellent ethos of care and standards. Reception staff are always polite, friendly and helpful. Booking appointments quick, easy and they respond to issues raised speedily. Staff involved with insurance claims via Vetsure are the quickest we have experienced. All of the vets are friendly, professional and put the owners at ease. Everything is explained throughly regarding treatment plan and costs. Throughly recommended.β

βI brought my cat in to be neutered and couldnβt be happier with the care we received. The staff was professional, compassionate, and clearly experienced. They made sure to explain the procedure thoroughly and answered all my questions with patience and kindness. The surgery went smoothly, and my cat was back to his usual self in no time. I really appreciated the follow-up instructions and how easy it was to reach out with any post-op concerns. Itβs clear they truly care about the well-being of their patients. Highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for quality veterinary care!β
βGreat, knowledgeable people who care about animals. They have x-ray facilities and do some operations on site. Part of a local chain, with an animal hospital in Halifax for out-of-hours services. Offers a 'pet plan' for a direct debit of about Β£14/month, which includes all flea and worming treatments for the year, and also the annual vaccination. The practice was recommended to me by a friend, and I have recommended it to others.β
βMy dog was due for a 6 monthly checkup and annual vaccinations, as well as a Citapoint injection and the administration of her flea and wormer tablet (which she wonβt take from me). We received a warm welcome at the Reception Desk, with hugs and treats for my dog, and an excellent session with vet Stuart Black, who made my dog feel very much at home in the surgery, and not only conducted the procedures very efficiently, but gave very helpful nutritional advice.β
βAmazing staff! Taken my dog a few times over the past few weeks. Even with the restrictions, they made us both feel welcome. After the cancer diagnosis they were warm, friendly and knowledgeable explaining next steps in a way i could understand.β
βGreat vets. Been going with our dog since he was a puppy. Heβs now 14. Would highly recommendβ
