“This is a review of the events space (marquee). We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary in the marquee at the Swan in Swineford, September 2024. It was a great event and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We had 53 guests for a three course sit down meal with welcome drinks prior to the meal, after which the tables were cleared for dancing and a DJ. We were able to discuss and tailor our menu to suit our guests and we received many compliments on the food, which was very tasty. Our family had early access to decorate the marquee with lights, table decorations and flowers which made the marquee look beautiful and created a lovely atmosphere. We were able to return the next morning to do the take-down, there was no pressure. The only strict requirements were that music had to stop by 11:00 pm (due to neighbours) and aim to have all people off site by 11:30 pm. Lee, the manager, was very approachable. He was happy to discuss our needs and was very flexible with the layout and the menu choice. We were allowed to provide our own drinks and pay corkage as well as making use of the outside pay-bar. Staff were very friendly and seemed invested in the success of the party which made it seem like a joint effort. The marquee itself is 9 meters square and has a good-sized graveled area to the side with benches which are for sole use of the function space. The marquee is set in a large garden with outside bar, children’s play area and a carpark. We would certainly recommend the swan for family and social functions. “Called in here on the way from Wales for a spot of good ole Caribbean food. They were closed and were opening at 2.00pm. However they kindly served me the best curried chicken I have had a long time and I should know. I own a Caribbean pub. Highly recommended. Strong flavours, good vybs. Thanks peeps. Buddy”

“Had a 3RTR Cambrai celebration meal. First time here, food was excellent, so was the service can not fault it. The bathrooms were fresh and clean. Carparking was plentiful, except a very sharp turn into it and quite steep.”

Wouldn't even consider ordering from anywhere else now as I've been caught out before trying other places and they just aren't anywhere near as nice. The salt and pepper chips are exceptional. “I’ve eaten here before and felt confident ordering the steak pie, mum had the chicken and leak pie. On this occasion the pastry on the pie bases and lids was soft/soggy and we didn’t eat it. We did let the server know but said we’d eat the rest of the meal as we were time restricted today. Glad we had 40% off though as paying full price would have definitely sent both pies back. 2nd review - Sept 25 We were invited back by the manager. This visit was totally different. We both had the pies again and this time they were fabulous. Crusty pastry, veg was good, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. On this visit we would definitely eat here again. “In the world of wannabe wine bars and Faux brasseries it's easy to forget places like this are around. The great British pub. The menu was vas with a board of chefs specials, the food classic British with a Whopping size Piece of fish for the fish and chips they had liver and onions on offer as well as a all day Breakfast, our food was prompt from ordering and was really good the best part being affordable. Staff were brilliant polite and friendly. Atmosphere was great also. If you want a no frills classic British pub it's a great place to visit. Will return for sure.”
