“Amazing night and weekend, brilliant vibe ,amazing bar staff ,amazing atmosphere”
“We moved from the centre of Bristol recently and that was literally the best roast we've had in or out of Bristol in years. My partner is veggie and is very particular about the veggie options in pubs and said it was fantastic. I had the best, crispiest pork belly iv had in a very long time. Properly cheesy cauliflower cheese and lovely veg! All in all, worth the price! And they have gorge best ale on! Brilliant! Will definitely be back!”
“I cannot thank this pub enough for the kindness they showed me recently. My car broke down nearby while I was already running late for the airport, and with no phone signal and no clue what to do, the staff stepped in without hesitation. They kindly let me leave my car in their car park for a few days while I sorted everything out, and even gave me access to their WiFi so I could book a taxi. Thanks to their help, I managed to make my flight in the end. Everyone I met there was genuinely lovely, friendly, understanding, and willing to help someone in a stressful situation. Proper good people and a proper good pub. I highly recommend visiting them. They fully deserve your support.”
“I bought a beautiful pair of Blundtstones here and it was a great experience. Absolutely lovely guy that helped me, so supportive and friendly and gave some helpful info about the boots which I wouldn’t have known if buying online. 10/10 and love the boots”
“Even though there are still restrictions the welcome was warm and genuine. The food was very good and freshly cooked. The garden was clean and tidy with plenty of seating and I could see lighting for those late evening eats out. There was free WiFi outside and a big blackboard for the kids (big and small) to scribble on. Altogether a very nice experience, we will be back.”
“Had a fantastic intermediate surf lesson, special thanks to Jules who is both a brilliant coach and all-round inspiration!! Facilities are great and tons of equipment for rent. Very clean and fantastic friendly vibe. Bring your skateboard if you have one We returned a week later to spend some money in the cafe + surf shop but was told it was a £2 charge per person for the pleasure. We politely declined, but were disappointed to have to return home without a holiday memento”
“Staff are lovely, food is amazing, especially cod bites and homemade tarta sauce.”
“Butchers Arms has been our regular Thursday night pub for many years. 15+! Always well cared for every week. A drinkers pub that's well worth a visit.”
“Fantastic place recommended by locals. Scottish egg ❤️”
“Visited on a quiet Tuesday lunch time with my daughter and had the £10 adults meal deal which includes a 9” inch Marg (I paid an extra quid for prosciutto), dip (I went for the pesto mayo) and any soft drink. Food all superb, their sourdough pizzas and faultless and I’m obsessed with the dips. Kids meal deal at £10 is slightly higher end but the pasta and ice cream were both demolished with relish so worth it! Kids do eat free with an adults main though (Sun to Friday) - so next time I’d pay for a 12” regular pizza and get the kids meal free, I was just a bit flappy yesterday and hadnt worked out which was better value! (Doh…) Marked slightly lower for atmosphere just because it was a bit empty in there when we visited, but I’ve been when it’s busier and it’s very ‘buzzy.’ We love the decor and vibe.”
“A hidden gem, a proper pub, friendly staff, great pizzas, good range of beers, and plenty of screens to watch football, whats not to love!!”
“As soon as we stepped into Beirut Mezze, we could tell we were in for a memorable experience. The ambiance struck a wonderful balance between comfort and sophistication, featuring stylish decor and soft lighting that made the space feel both warm and inviting. Our dinner was exceptional—the dishes were not only beautifully presented but also absolutely delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Lively, playful music added to the cheerful and welcoming atmosphere. I am glad to choose this place and would 100% recommend to comming here. We’ll definitely be returning to celebrate again!”
“Just a nice place to go for a beer oh and some love music occasionally”
“Met a friend for lunch and enjoyed a warm fire and yummy food. I got parked in the small carpark which was a bonus. The bar staff were so happy and just so helpful. Thank you.”
“Very friendly locals pub and the staff are very friendly and helpful”
“Great music, vibe, and friendly staff”
“Inarguably the best pub in Bristol, and one of the few remaining real pubs this oddity city has to offer. It hasn't been redecorated/refurbished/ruined... so retains the warmth, charm, and reassuring character, that a pub should offer. The clientèle is varied, all ages and vocation, and the mood is very chilled, you don't get the sense of being an imposter like you might at some local haunts. They offer brown drink, brown snacks, and the odd cheese sandwich. If you require any other form of sustenance, then you might have missed the point of your excursion. The service is friendly, warm, and fair. They also boast two pool tables, and a dart board... apparently this is a standout feature of pubs in this dystopian arena? Either way, this pub delivers on all fronts, and has been a joy to frequent. 10/10 from me.”
“Wow! Me and my partner were genuinely so impressed. Lynn the Landlady was astonishing, and made us the most incredible grub at a decent price. Friendly, calm and welcoming atmosphere... you don't get pubs like these anymore. Highly recommend and will be visiting again. If only I could provide more stars!”
“Great pub here with friendly stuff, thank you Tasha, Rupert and Sophie, Harvey and Ewan. The “HOME FROM HOLME” is a grrrreeeeat bitter, honestly I wish all bitter ales were like it. Very hoppy! The “Small World Beers” brewery did a fantastic job. This pub also hosts live events. It’s definitely a 5 from me.”
“Interesting selection of veggie and non- veggie options. Well executed, a bit of a wait but worth it. Price on the higher end but you get quality. Nice outside seating.”
“Absolutely superb from startbto finish. Met by the gentleman doorman...reception staff were brilliant. Stunning room and incredible facilities. Loved the smooth radio station on in the room to arrive to. Great bar staff, excellent service, just wish we had the time to have had our evening meal there. Perfect location. Historic and so well maintained. The breakfast was second to none. Highly Highly recommend it.”
“We had a wonderful stay! We originally booked a standard room but were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the best suite in the hotel — and the hospitality was truly exceptional from start to finish. There were lovely little touches waiting for us when we arrived, and when we returned from dinner, we found a thoughtful box of cheeses, the curtains drawn, and the bed beautifully prepared for the night. The hotel’s location is very central, which meant it could be a little busy and noisy at times, but the mattress was so comfortable that we still had one of the best nights of sleep we’ve ever had in a hotel! We also booked massage treatments and spent time enjoying the spa facilities — both were absolutely amazing. Every member of staff was attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay special. It was such a memorable experience, and we’ll definitely return when visiting Bath again — or perhaps try one of their other properties elsewhere.”
“Used to visit this place with my parents and the food was always incredible, so when I was back in Bath with my husband- I wanted to see if it held up. It does! Beautiful food, and wonderful service from Raff and Amira. The Barolo beef ravioli was fantastic, all portions generous and wonderfully mixed drinks. We will be back next time we are in town. Thank you!”
“Staff were amazing. Breakfast was excellent. A great variety including for vegetarians. Bed very comfortable. Beautiful lounge. If ever I'm back in Bath I will definitely stay here.”
“One of the best Sunday roasts I've ever had in Chepstow, highly highly recommended to anyone looking for fantastic food and great atmosphere, it's the place to be.”
“Lovely family that runs the shop have lived nearby my whole life and always felt so welcomed love popping in for a snacks vape and a chat”
“Popped in for dinner Saturday just gone, instantly felt very warmly welcomed. Beautiful place, especially with the fire glowing. The menu & food preparation was explained clearly to us and we were encouraged to have a look around and not stay stuck to our table. The food came out and was absolutely incredible, we both were very satisfied and went home feeling very stuffed. We would definitely visit again.”
“The Priory is local to us & we have thought about booking the restaurant for quite some time, but I find it hard to try new places. We were gifted a voucher for the restaurant last Xmas, so last week we finally used it. We booked via the website & added our usual request for quiet area as ASD. I have to say I was apprehensive, but I was very impressed. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent and the staff so friendly. I felt VERY comfortable here, which for a first visit, is high praise indeed! We sat in the panel room, with dark wood panelled walls. As they were quieter on the evening we came, they gave me a choice of table, which I really appreciated! (I would book this table again in the future!) We were looked after by David, & he was great - just the right balance of attentiveness! We chose from the three course set menu and the food was delicious. Hubby had cured smoked duck to start, I had smoked ham hock and jalapeño croquettes - the duck was so tender & the croquettes crispy & melty inside. We both had the pork loin for mains, with triple cooked chips & roasted Jerusalem artichokes to share. Again, we couldn’t fault anything. The pork loin was slightly pink and melted in your mouth, the chips were amazing & the artichokes were gorgeous. A great pairing! Finally we decided on the Orange & Almond cake & the cheese board to finish, which we also shared. Again, perfection! Another point for us is, as real ale drinkers, so often you find that restaurants in hotels skip on the cask ales, but The Priory have their own pale ale as well as one of our favourites - Bath Ales, Gem! Thank you for a lovely evening, our first visit but definitely not our last.”
“Beautiful place!! Staff are lovely friendly, food amazing!! We booked a table of 10 and we didn't have to wait long for all three courses. The kids food was brilliant. A first class restaurant, highly recommend it!!”
“This place! What can I say other than absolute perfection. The food is always piping hot, it’s amazing tasting, the staff and manager are outstanding! Very polite, very professional, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, clean and tidy. Food delicious and amazing. I love going back here every time. Can’t wait to go again soon!”
