“Myself & a friend went on the Cotswold tour on March 31st. Richard was our guide & he was excellent, with some great stories. We got to see lovely small towns such as Castle Combe and Bourton-on-the-Water which would have been difficult to reach otherwise without a car. Given the width & winding nature of some of the roads we travelled, I was very glad that someone else was doing the driving! Maddy's recorded pieces were really enlightening. As a keen Tolkien reader, I was interested to see the two trees either side of the church door in Stow - definitely reminiscent of the doors to Moria. Having just a small group certainly made a difference - and was much more manageable.”

“In August this year, I visited Hobbs on Milsom Street to buy a smart black dress for my Father's funeral ( having failed to find anything but flimsy summer dresses elsewhere on the High Street!) The reason for this review is not for the clothes (we know Hobbs clothes are well-made and fit great) but for the service I received, especially at such a sad time. Michele was wonderful - such a kind lady, willing to help, advise, fetch other options and just listen. She made me feel like I was her only customer that morning, with none of the 'hard sell' you might get elsewhere. I felt smart at the funeral, that I did my Dad proud. I told the funeral guests the story behind my dress, and the wonderful Michele, when they complimented my dress. Thank you!”

“We stayed at the Kennard Boutique Guesthouse for two nights and had a lovely visit. The check-in was super smooth even though we arrived late. The rooms were super cozy and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. All of us agree that the hotel breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. The location of the hotel was perfect, just a 10 minute walk from the train station and a 5 minute walk to the city centre. The neighbourhood had loads of great restaurants and felt safe in the evening. If we visit Bath again we will definitely stay here.”

“This was a lovely little shop. I was wandering around all the shops and popped in here, but ended up staying for ages because there was so much to look at. Their vintage options were brilliant, and well organised into different sections. The prices were also reasonable around £18-£33 for the jumpers I was looking at. The staff were also super friendly, asking if I needed help and complimenting my bag charm.”

Communication with Pauline was fabulous and the room was absolutely lovely with everything we needed and there was also a kitchen area and a lounge area where you could get tea and coffee. Bed was very comfy and room was very cool which was needed as it was very hot outside. Pauline was very welcoming and helpful and the perfect pit stop for us. We would definitely recommend.”

“Homewood hosted our wedding in August this year (2025) and I couldn’t praise them enough. Lucie, our events manager, was incredible and supported us so much throughout all the planning. The weekend of the wedding, the team were incredible, nothing was too much to ask and they really looked after us and all our guests. “A last minute online search for a hotel resulted in a wonderful but brief stay at Harington's. Beautifully clean room with charming, quirky decor. Extremely comfortable bed with quality bedlinen. Very peaceful at night with no noise from the street. In the morning a delicious breakfast, cooked fresh to order with good coffee. Super service from all staff, especially the lady on reception as I arrived very late in the evening and she sent me two texts with information and to make sure I was on my way. I will definitely return and recommend to others. Only slight downside was the lack of black out blinds as the street lights did come through the curtains.”

“Amazing shop with a huge variety of clothes and brands to choose from! The shop has a great atmosphere and staff always polite and ready to help! I have taken in many bags of my clothes to Alfred’s to sell. These are items I have worn and are in good condition. I have always been amazed about the monies I have received. So much less hassle than eBay and no PayPal nonsense. I have got just as much money as well, so win win and 5 stars from me!!!”

“My daughter is very tiny, I was told from other places she would need a flower girl dress were she is so small. I got hold off Ann via instergram she booked us in there and then went to view the amazing dresses, my daughter explained what she wanted and Ann got them out my daughter was treated like a princess. She found her dress Ann ordered it in the colour my daughter wanted. We went to pick it up today my daughter had knee surgery last month Ann was very patient allowed my daughter to take her time to try her dress on. I'm gutted I won't be able to experience this again but Ann made the experience amazing and one to remember. Thank you so much for helping me get my daughters dream dress.”

“The Priory is local to us & we have thought about booking the restaurant for quite some time, but I find it hard to try new places. We were gifted a voucher for the restaurant last Xmas, so last week we finally used it. We booked via the website & added our usual request for quiet area as ASD. I have to say I was apprehensive, but I was very impressed. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent and the staff so friendly. I felt VERY comfortable here, which for a first visit, is high praise indeed! We sat in the panel room, with dark wood panelled walls. As they were quieter on the evening we came, they gave me a choice of table, which I really appreciated! (I would book this table again in the future!) We were looked after by David, & he was great - just the right balance of attentiveness! We chose from the three course set menu and the food was delicious. Hubby had cured smoked duck to start, I had smoked ham hock and jalapeño croquettes - the duck was so tender & the croquettes crispy & melty inside. We both had the pork loin for mains, with triple cooked chips & roasted Jerusalem artichokes to share. Again, we couldn’t fault anything. The pork loin was slightly pink and melted in your mouth, the chips were amazing & the artichokes were gorgeous. A great pairing! Finally we decided on the Orange & Almond cake & the cheese board to finish, which we also shared. Again, perfection! Another point for us is, as real ale drinkers, so often you find that restaurants in hotels skip on the cask ales, but The Priory have their own pale ale as well as one of our favourites - Bath Ales, Gem! Thank you for a lovely evening, our first visit but definitely not our last.”
