“Impressively presented menu offered by this beautiful restaurant. I loved the high, gold-leaf ceiling supported by a central column and skirted with tropical engineer-diagram images, which to me were a tip of the hat to Bristol's many high tech contributions. I wish I had time to try the whole menu. My meal, an eggplant tajine, was delicious. Paired with an outstanding drinks offering, The Ivy will be a great place for dinner with friends or someone special. Put The Ivy on your Bristol dining plans.”
“Had Sunday roast here. Quite excellent, nice amount of trimmings and gravy. Very nice crumble for pudding with plenty of custard. Dog friendly and great service.”
“The food was top notch! We really loved the lamb shank and award winning risotto, very flavourful. The dessert was nice, not too sweet. The staffs were super friendly, especially the granny :) thanks for telling us more about Sardinia.”
“Amazing Spanish tapas with fresh food and some interesting twists on classics. Nice wine menu and staff are knowledgable on the wine. The highlight was certainly the tuna and the bread was certainly a pleasant surprise.”
“As soon as we stepped into Beirut Mezze, we could tell we were in for a memorable experience. The ambiance struck a wonderful balance between comfort and sophistication, featuring stylish decor and soft lighting that made the space feel both warm and inviting. Our dinner was exceptional—the dishes were not only beautifully presented but also absolutely delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Lively, playful music added to the cheerful and welcoming atmosphere. I am glad to choose this place and would 100% recommend to comming here. We’ll definitely be returning to celebrate again!”
“Interesting selection of veggie and non- veggie options. Well executed, a bit of a wait but worth it. Price on the higher end but you get quality. Nice outside seating.”
“There was definitely an olde feel to this pub as we walked in, ducking heads as advised to avoid the low entrance and stepping into a comfortable and pleasant environment. It was full for a lunchtime, always a good sign. We were pointed to a board full of daily special dishes and another board showing the selection of pies before being taken to our table. The menu had a good range of options, including a number of vegetarian and fish dishes, and some pub favourites (I understand the liver and bacon is very popular!). Service was friendly and not too slow, although we didn’t feel rushed either. The food we ordered was excellent and there was plenty of it, so much so we couldn’t manage dessert, which was a shame as they looked lovely too. We will definitely be returning.”
“Had a gorgeous dinner here with my boyfriend for my birthday and it was incredible. 5 star food. The only steak restaurant we’ve ever seen where you can choose your sauce, butter and salt. Such a lovely touch. Staff were very attentive and made me feel very special for my birthday with a special dessert too. Thank you!”
“Stunning country pub and everything you would expect from its location, lovely warm hosts and staff, great menu options swift efficient service, beautiful pub and good to see local produce in offer”
“Very good meal, lovely service. While a chain it looks and feels much more like an independent restaurant compared to most high street restaurant chains, good sized portions. Not too busy/noisy for comfort. Much better than expected.”
“Visited this place a few times now, for brunch or dinner. Lovely cosy interior. Plenty of tables. The food is very good also, with lots of choice. The tapas boards are delicious and very good value for money. Staff have always been friendly and attentive also. They had live music in this restaurant recently also, with a singer on the upper floor. Good singer but perhaps didn't need the amplifier and microphone, at least not so loud, as it's not a huge venue. Made it difficult to have a conversation. Minor issue though as the food was still excellent and the atmosphere is generally good in this place. Definitely recommend it for those visiting Clevedon.”
“Found this place when walking around Clevedon. Buzzing atmosphere inside and out. Lovely location looking over the Bristol channel. Welcoming and attentive staff. Delicious soup and cake. Chef even split the soup for us to share. Great looking menu and the food that was coming out to other customers looked really good. Dog friendly. Hope to visit again.”
“Came here for a group of friend’s Christmas meal as previous meals have always been excellent. Lived up to expectations. Hannah was great (how she remembers the drinks orders I really don’t know), food was excellent and just the right portion sizes. Had a wonderful evening and will definitely be back”
“Met friends for brunch to celebrate. Nine of us served quickly with huge amounts of good food. We eyed the afternoon tea on a neighbouring table with some jealousy! Important to book; it's a busy place. Only gripe was an errant apostrophe on the word 'menu's'. Aaargh! But if that's all I have to complain about you'll see how lovely this place is.”
“I have a delivery from the mango house and first everything was packing perfectly then I was impressed for the quality and quantity of the food it was only for me and it seems like for two or three persons. I really like the share dish and the Bread is hay they add to my order. Really recommend!”
“Hands down the best burger I have eaten in a long long time. Trip from london for this beast amazing.”
“My friend & I enjoyed a Lush breakfast at Dalia Cocina last week. She had a healthy option taco whilst I went "all in" and treated myself to a full breakfast (smll). Couldn't believe it included all this + a cuppa!... Fantastic!! I was pleasently surprised as all of the ingredients were made from top notch ingredients... Free range eggs, juicy, plump sausages, lush back bacon, tomatoes, beans, field mushrooms and lush thick crusty toast. Made a nice change! The staff were very nice, helpful and our meals were cooked in front of us which didn't take long and we had service with a smile. I loved the Day of the dead decor too, bright and cheerful and unique and quirky.... Thank you for a lovely experience, as Arney says "I'll be back!" x”
“Wow what a find. Other people had recommended this restaurant to me but this was the first time the stars aligned and I stopped to order a takeaway. Asked the guy taking my order for a vegetarian recommendation and it was delicious. But so was everything else! And so much food that we ended up eating it over two meals!!”
“Great carvery selection, well patronised and value for money 5*”
“Well - not been to The Haynes for such a long time - why! These fish and chips are still the best around. You have to go a long way to find a fish and chip restaurant cooking in Beef Dripping - OK not a vegan style but hey we are entitled to have at least one traditional ‘Chippy’. The Cod was moist and as fresh as it comes and the chips were cooked to perfection. A friendly and family restaurant and takeaway - we booked a table which was a very pleasant experience - service excellent. Can’t praise The Haynes enough - despite a 40 mile round-trip we will be eating here regularly from now on. Food reviews are very subjective and so our experience may not reflect others; we have often found that you are at the mercy of the chef on the day - we were so looking forward to our meal at the Haynes, we were not disappointed. Highly recommended.”
“First time using jolly fryer since the reopening. Great atmosphere, food we received was excellent value for money, Best kebabs have had for a long time. Will return to try something Different looking forward to next takeaway thankyou.”
“Visited yesterday and had the Tapas Tasting menu. Greeted warmly by the new owner, and made to feel very welcome indeed. Excellent food and service and we experienced a real taste of Spain with the most delicious tapas dishes. Spanish music playing, lovely ambience, chilled and relaxing. Fab cocktails, too! A definite winner and can’t wait to return, thank you; we are lucky to have this amazing tapas restaurant /bar (and secret garden!) in Portishead.”
“What can I say tasted amazing the goat was fully of flavour and so tender and large portion would defo do two if got small appetite but I now got bonus of left over for next day. Festival cooked perfect and full of flavour and banna cake moist and so tasty. Will defo be ordering again”
“Passed this van everyday for years and finally got around to trying their food. Was not disappointed. Mammoth portion that was delicious. Had a mixed donor, lamb was lovely the chicken was big bits that were moist and tasty. The salad was all lovely and fresh. The fella working was friendly and happy. Would definitely recommend best kebab in the area by a long long way.”
“It was our 3rd time to visit and each visit was always pleasant. This time around we ordered breakfast. The Black Stone bacon with eggs and gooey, melted cheese was absolutely satisfying. Good coffee too. Order large and you get a massive cup. Everytime we eat there, I would always ask for their harissa which is really so flavourful and, yes, very spicy. Good service. You might want to lengthen your patience during busy days; it's worth it. The place is small, with only several tables and a few outside. Overall, always a good experience.”
“Great place to chill out and de-stress watching the 2024 Paris Olympics on a lsuper-clear and large flat tv screen whilst enjoying a decent pint of Bass and traditional crusty roll with a choice of fillings. Free house, dart board, pool table and a separate function room. Small parking area which might require you looking further afield to park. A reliable pint for real-ale drinkers and a warm welcome.”
“This is the first time that we have used since new management reopened. We had cod and chips and Clark's pie. The fish was moist with a nice crunchy batter. Clark's pie was fresh the chips were to die for all very tasty. The staff was very friendly and the premises was very clean and tidy. You can guarantee that we will be using again. Keep up the good work.”
“Found this gem of a place today & will 100% be returning! The burger & chips were insane, we also had a couple of sides - butter chicken & garlic bread like I’ve never had before!! Really reasonably priced, you have to add the chips on separately but £10ish for a burger then add the chips on for £3, your looking at £13 for a meal which is very reasonably priced for the quality of food! The milkshakes were amazing & was gutted we were too full for pudding as they looked incredible!! The guy serving who I think was the manager was absolutely brilliant! You could tell he had a passion for his job & a credit to this place! Great for children too which is hard to find now a days with the games room! We will be returning with our girls & this place really needs to branch out to other places it will do so well! Thanks so much for a fantastic lunch!”
“We stayed for two nights at the Plaine for my sons wedding. We had breakfast two days and a meal for the bridal party on the day after the wedding. The service and food was five star. The staff were friendly and helpful especially Lola who was a delight and kept us all amused. Would happily return if in the area again.”
“I ordered Tarka Daal, Chicken Korma, Rice & Cucumber Raita & Papadoms. The korma was perfectly flavoured, daal was a lovely thick consistency with garlic which was absolutely delicious. Excellent quality & great value for the price.”
