“We had dinner here on Thursday evening after being rejected by the Vietnamese Noya on the same street as we hadn’t booked. It was a very busy night in Bath due to the graduation day the next day I believe. Hondu Sushi’s menu was quite extensive to include Malaysian as well. Didn’t get to try. We ordered Salmon Belly rice, Seafood stir fried noodles, Sashimi Bento, Unagi roll and cheese and crab roll. All were delicious apart from the last item. Of course something like Kraft cheese was used but the most disappointing thing was the use or crab stick. It should be called a cheese and crabstick roll to be specific because that was what I was expecting. And it was cheap. All in all service was good and food was good. Only a bit of misdescription. Service charge like many places now, is included in your final bill. Food - good Service - good Atmosphere - it’s ok- busy but not too tight. No music and not too noisy”

“Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting Thaikhun in Bath. I have been here a few times now over my time at university and every time I’ve been I’ve had a great experience. What strikes you immediately is the authentic feel, you literally feel like you’re walking into a piece of Thailand. The layout imitates the hustle and bustle of the streets and food stalls of Bangkok with bright and colourful Thai advertisements, street signs, Buddhist shrines and much more. The service was second to none. My server Oat, originating from Bangkok, immediately brought the famous Thai hospitality that I experienced on my travels to life. He was attentive, friendly and a genuinely lovely guy to have a chat with. I ordered the Thai BBQ chicken wings, the stir fry pork belly with egg fried rice. The food was authentic, tasty, well-balanced and the right level of spice. It really took me back to the delicious flavours, spices, seasonings and aromas I experienced when I visited Thailand. I would recommend this place to anyone that loves Thai food or wants to try Thai food for the first time!”

Picture this: you're sitting in a comfy armchair, surrounded by warm lighting and stylish decor, while the boats gently glide past outside. It's pure relaxation. The service was exceptional – not just friendly, but attentive in a wonderfully pleasant and unobtrusive way. You can really tell the staff love what they do. I’ve always received great service when there, and I often recommend to all friends to go for food. My loyalty card usually gets filled a lot quicker than I would care to admit. Will continue to be my go to for a good value, filling Mexican food - can’t beat a good rice box. Love the frequent different (usually themed) specials they do as well, and can’t beat a chilled lime Jarrito.”

    dexter's coffee shop

    ★★★★☆ 4.3 (123 Reviews) Well rated Closed

“Posting reviews is not a habit for me but, just occasionally, it seems necessary. I have just seen a negative comment about Dexter's here, which deserves to be highlighted because it is really so wrong. Dexter's is a fine coffee shop, with a dedicated owner, loyal staff, and many regular and satisfied customers like me. The negative comment is really destructive. The writer, shining her London coffee credentials in truly pompous fashion, weighs in on the owner, the quality of the coffee, the uniqueness of her terrible experience compared to the normal welcome she experiences elsewhere, and ends by telling us all to avoid at all costs. So, first to correct the narrative. Dexter's, in five years of trading in this part of Bath, has brought a community to life. It is a meeting point and a place for conversation, a place where good things in life are celebrated, and not so good things are comforted. The coffee is sourced from a reputable local roastery, Extract and the owner knows precisely what her clientele need, which is really good coffee and light snacks, delivered consistently in a great atmosphere. But she is balancing a complex community; the shop is welcoming to owners and dogs, walkers and cyclists, people working and meeting. To keep all of us happy, and her business running, she has to be a manager and a diplomat. She does it brilliantly. Sometimes, people do push things a bit. Cyclists, like me, might lay a bike across the window; or someone may bring their lunch from somewhere else and spread it out for an hour whilst working and drinking one coffee. All without asking. Luckily such things are rare, and nearly always no offence was ever intended, but it is necessary to point out a problem, put it right and carry on. But of course there is always a reviewer out there who, if crossed, feels the power to write a review which slams not one thing, but everything about an establishment. And in doing so, the reviewer shows herself to be a righteously indignant huffer and puffer. Dexter's is great, so is the coffee and the company. Do not avoid. Unless that is, you are one of those negative reviewers who delights in trying to destroy small and valuable businesses. By all means please, you, stay away. See you at Dexter's everyone else!!”

There is a lift to the floors but also a few stairs too, although I was told and offered help. My room was just perfect. Very clean and comfy, bed was a delight. Lovely toiletries. Plenty of tea/coffee/milk etc. There was a fridge, what a bonus. I didn’t struggle with parking, yes £15 per 24hrs but it is what it is, I’ve paid lots more in Bath and it was a fair distance to walk to my accommodation. I personally didn’t sample any food. A great place to stay - highly recommend. Thank you to all concerned for making my stay so memorable”
