“This is not a house! And it is not in trowbridge! But it's a lovely place to spend your eves! With no food to cook it does what a pub does best! Tasty drinks at tasty prices! You're going to find free pool! A free jukebox and very funny (albeit very very slightly racist) people! Sure it doesn't look incredible from the outside or the inside. But you're going to get a type of fun that expensive hipster bars just will not offer you!!”

“Had an amazing meal at Thai Balcony in Bath. We went for the set menu (£36 per person) and it was excellent – loads of variety, really generous portions, and every dish was full of flavour. The curries were rich and aromatic, the stir-fry was fresh and perfectly cooked, and the starters were a great mix to share. The staff were really friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere was lovely too – cosy, authentic, and a great spot for a nice evening meal. Overall, brilliant value for money and one of the best Thai meals I’ve had in the UK. Definitely recommend if you’re in Bath!”

“I was walking along the Kennet and Avon Canal from Bradford on Avon to Bath, enjoying the spring sunshine. When I came across this delightful cafe at Monckton Combe, I had a lovely wedge of coffee and walnut cake, with a cup of my favourite chai latte tea, which was equally good The whole stretch of my walk along the canal was absolutely fantastic seeing all the narrow boats or barges, whichever is the correct definition The railway line to Bath is adjacent to the canal Being largely rural, always ensure that you are physically capable. “Visiting Bath and very glad we came across this pub, first on Saturday and the place was buzzing (in part to a private function). Great selection of beers, food was lovely (fish & chips, carbonara). Came back again on the Sunday for the football, was quiet but great to watch the game. Favourite in Bath, will be back!”

Lovely rooms, great pub downstairs with entertainment, good food/drink selection and loads of board games you can take up to your room. Only a 15 min walk into the centre or a 5min taxi ride. Staff were fantastic. Will 100% stay again if we are back in the area.”

“Wow I've been eating Chinese all my life and this has to be the best one I have ever had. The sweet and sour chicken just melts in your mouth. Special fried rice perfect. The only negative is the bag the delivery driver had was a bit past it definitely needs a new one but this is going to be our Chinese from now on.”

“This is a review of the events space (marquee). We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary in the marquee at the Swan in Swineford, September 2024. It was a great event and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We had 53 guests for a three course sit down meal with welcome drinks prior to the meal, after which the tables were cleared for dancing and a DJ. We were able to discuss and tailor our menu to suit our guests and we received many compliments on the food, which was very tasty. Our family had early access to decorate the marquee with lights, table decorations and flowers which made the marquee look beautiful and created a lovely atmosphere. We were able to return the next morning to do the take-down, there was no pressure. The only strict requirements were that music had to stop by 11:00 pm (due to neighbours) and aim to have all people off site by 11:30 pm. Lee, the manager, was very approachable. He was happy to discuss our needs and was very flexible with the layout and the menu choice. We were allowed to provide our own drinks and pay corkage as well as making use of the outside pay-bar. Staff were very friendly and seemed invested in the success of the party which made it seem like a joint effort. The marquee itself is 9 meters square and has a good-sized graveled area to the side with benches which are for sole use of the function space. The marquee is set in a large garden with outside bar, children’s play area and a carpark. We would certainly recommend the swan for family and social functions. Big thanks to Lee and the whole team.”

“Best brunch in bath! Cosy and intimate cafe located right opposite the train station. I got the biscoff pancakes which were perfect if you have a sweet tooth. “Ordered from here delivery although I have eaten in the restaurant before which was 10/10 for us. I wanted to write a review for the delivery as my gf and I were both extremely happy as magu seem to do it better than other burger restaurants in Bath. All of our food arrived in time, and hot!! The burgers were so delicious, I wouldn’t order for takeaway anywhere else now, cooked fresh, and you can really tell! Thanks magu team!!”

“After scouring Bath for live music for NYE and failing miserably we ended up at the Devonshire Arms. A bit of a locals pub but we were accepted and greater whole heartedly. Live music was good fun although they certainly won't be going pro anytime soon! Good beer and a bit of a spread put on for NYE. Landlord made us feel very welcome and even apologised for charging us entry! Made some new friends and had a throughly enjoyable time. Would recommend!”
