“I had my old car serviced and MOT'd here, the guys were always friendly and helpful, during my service it came to light that I needed a coolant pump replacing which wasn't ideal, but I knew it was likely as I was losing coolant. The price was reasonable, and the work was carried out as fast as they could get the part. Where they really went above and beyond was 6 months later when I started to notice coolant loss again, I took the car back having had a look myself and seeing there was liquid dripping from somewhere. They called me up and told me that the head gasket was going (was something I was worried about as I had noticed excess smoke out the back but hoped it was just the time of year) rather than charge me an arm and a leg to replace the gasket or fix it temporarily for cheap they advised me to get rid of the car. Then when I went to pick the car up, they didn't even charge me for the time they spent, they did me a real solid and have probably saved me a lot of money in the long run. I wouldn't trust my car anywhere else.”

Unfortunately and totally unforseen a couple of days after I got home the water pump died. Car was under warranty and Ben immediately got it sorted for me to get a replacement under the warranty. “I don’t usually write reviews, but today I want to express my appreciation for Halfords Longwell Green. I’ve been struggling with an intermittent stalling issue on my Mercedes CLA— the RPM would rise, but the car wouldn’t move. I visited Mercedes Filton four times, and although they replaced the EGR valve, intake manifold, intercooler, and torque sensor, the problem persisted. Even during my last visit, they couldn’t identify the fault. Feeling hopeless, I went to Halfords for a routine service and shared my frustration with them. That’s when I met Adam, who previously worked at Mercedes Bath. He quickly diagnosed the issue and recommended simply changing the gearbox oil, which had become too sluggish. He also mentioned that checking the oil condition should be standard procedure for this type of transmission issue. After the oil change, the gear shifts feel incredibly smooth, and I feel relieved at last. I’ll keep an eye on the car over the next few weeks, but I’m hopeful the issue won’t return.”
