“The Cross Inn is a hidden gem in Cardiff! Stopped by recently and was really impressed. The pub has a great traditional feel with a modern touch – cosy, clean, and full of character. The staff were friendly and attentive, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere from the get-go. The drinks selection is solid too, with well-kept beers and a good variety behind the bar. Plenty of seating inside and out, and a lovely spot to catch up with friends or enjoy a quiet pint. Definitely one of the better pubs around – will be back soon!”

“This may seem a strange occasion for leaving a review, but we had the post-funeral wake for my mum at the Ridgeway recently and they looked after us as well as we could have asked. We booked the cold buffet and this was excellent. A range of well filled sandwiches and rolls (we asked for veg and non-veg), quiches, salad, and some delicious delicacies, and then cakes to follow. It was more than enough for the numbers we ordered, even with many going back for more. The service was excellent. A very busy bar was looked after very efficiently by the staff, who were friendly and helpful through the afternoon and evening. No one wants to plan for a wake, but the team at the Ridgeway looked after us beautifully.”

“Me and my partner visited today (4th of October). We enjoyed so much, girl servicing was so nice, polite and helpful. Food was outstanding!!!! I've had steak which was exactly as I like it, there was no trouble when we asked for my chips to be cooked a bit more, Dave had mix grill, everything was cooked to perfection!!!! Beer was nice too. We will highly recommend this pub to everyone. Thank you very much.”

“Took my Nan for a birthday meal here, which unfortunately had a lot of no shows. The staff were so lovely and kind, they really turned the day around for her and went above and beyond. I'm extremely grateful to all working yesterday. The Sunday lunch was fantastic, I'd come back for the roast potatoes alone. Food was quick to be served and a lovely atmosphere as always. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you all!”

“Saturday 11th March 2023 Tonight, I visited this vibrant real ale pub in the centre of Newport. The young people inside this real ale pub were loud, but all in hood fun Music not to my taste /I'm and I visited old foagie like/ This pub served 3 great real ales picture posted on pubs website. I was very impressed by this pubs beers And atmosphere. This is a place I am very impressed with. Saturday 15th February 2025 This pub is a very good real ale pub tonight it had 3 great hand pumped RHYMNEY BREWERY real ales on see picture on dite and the locals vety pleasent and yhe pub a goodvlocals pub. “Stone House is a modern restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere. The menu is good and good value. I had a t bone steak cooked perfectly with fries for less than £16. Service was excellent and the premises are definately worth a visit”

“Mother’s Day lunch. The tables were dressed lovely with flowers, chocolates and a card for Mum I also had a glass of Prosecco. We then ordered the turkey lunch which was hot and served with extra pigs in blankets. The wait was not too long and the staff were all very friendly and helpful especially Liz at the bar, Leo who served us and Danny who took our booking.”

“Absolutely enjoyed this Beefeater. I was there a few days. Great atmosphere and restaurant is cut off from the bar area. I enjoyed Beef and ale pie one night and the next one a lasagne. “We hosted my Father-in-Law’s 60th here in the function room and garden and couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome. Our contact for the arrangements was Bethany and she was amazing from start to finish; so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. They have clearly worked hard to revamp the pub and they deserve recognition for this. They worked tirelessly the night before our party to ensure everything was perfect and would run smoothly and for that were eternally grateful. Wonderful, wonderful service and would happily use again. If you’re thinking of a party, surprise or otherwise, this venue is brilliant!”
