“Five of us went to celebrate a birthday. The staff were very friendly and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. The food was lovely especially the honey butter chicken drumsticks, nothing was left on our plates! The cocktails were also first class. Would definitely recommend.”
“Second time visiting here and great staff, very polite and helpful. Lovely view too, Dogs are allowed which is nice to see. And the food was lovely. I would recommend but I know they are closing but not sure if new buyers are keeping it as a restaurant, I hope they do.”
“Driven past many times, so I'm so glad I popped in. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Good choice on the menu. Very reasonable prices. Breakfast was very tasty and cooked to perfection. The open fire made it very comfy. Glad I did pop in. Will definitely be going in again. Would recommend.”
“It's a really nice and friendly cafe. The food is really well cooked and I'm fussy. I eat elsewhere locally and none match this cafe in terms of great value and quality food Friendly chatty staff who disinfect tables as you leave. Very clean”
“Called in for a pint as the Italian across the way was fully booked. Nice atmosphere. Good local beer. Girl behind the bar couldn't have been more friendly and helpful suggesting other options for a meal. Would have like to stayed longer. Great little pub.”
“Had Sunday lunch with my wife and two friends. What a great experience it was. The setting is beautiful, the staff are very attentive and professional, and the food was exceptional. This was the best Sunday lunch we’ve had anywhere and will definitely be back. Well done to all involved.”
“Possibly the best locally owned Italian restaurant in South Wales? Been there many times and the food has always been top notch. Pretty good value for money considering what the other Italian 'chains' are charging!”
“We have used Green Cabs for many years, for both airport transfers and local trips to and from Cardiff, Six Nations etc. They are prompt, fair and 100% reliable. Their communication and confirmations are also excellent and give confidence. Keep up the good work.”
“Great place, tucked away, and staff were lovely. The room was perfect and had wifi and looked over the fields and geese in fields also. Breakfast was lovely and again staff great. Overall a great experience and would book again.”
“Small but wonderfully stocked shop selling all manner of food and drinks imported from Greece. The kind lady working there was very helpful. I'm looking forward to trying the wine next time I visit!”
“We went for the fondue, and it was a great experience! We were very taken by the wine vending machines. Overall, it was something unique, and we’ll definitely go again.”
“We didn't have food, but the drinks were very nice. Small French cafe feel but very busy. Dog friendly and casual. Decor was lovely and gave pleasant ambience with warm lighting. More frequent toilet checks would be good as the unisex loos were well used by some patrons who were 'directionally challenged'. All in all a really nice stop for a pint with cute dogs to look at.”
“Lovely customer service with accurate updates on how long it would take. Food was delicious and had that old school takeaway feel, think guilty pleasure. The mixed starter for one came with two chicken balls, two prawn toast, two spring rolls and two ribs which is great for the price and easily spread further than one person. Couldn't fault it.”
“Stumbled across this lovely little wine bar by accident. The staff (Gabe and Luca) were so knowledgeable and the choice exceptional. A hidden gem.”
“Awsome food, owners and staff are outstanding. Very welcoming and friendly place.”
“The cheese experience was a lovely way to whileaway 2 hours with wine and cheese. Recommended.”
“Lovely place to stop for a coffee before walking to the local castle. I had poached egg over toast and a cappuccino.”
“We went in the store to order, the customer service was really friendly and nice! The food was lush, we had an Angus beef burger with halloumi and a crispy chicken burger with cheese, both of the burgers were amazing, we also had a portion of rosemary chips, they were cripsy and hot…all freshly cooked and really good portion sizes. Would 10/10 go here again!”
“Attended a Xmas lunch today. As I am gluten free my experience was fantastic. All the staff were really helpful and accommodating.Nothing was too much trouble.Unfortunately this is not always the case.Thank you all so much for a very enjoyable visit.A lovely afternoon with amazing food”
“A wonderful little hidden cider farm. It was a wonderful stroll around the small orchard and relax in the hammocks there. The little shop was very pleasant, and staff very friendly. It was nice to feed the pigs whilst on our visit. Will return when next this way”
“Really lovely clean rooms with a 10/10 breakfast, welcoming kind staff and the perfect setting for children with the small park and fish pond. My only feedback would be the curtains. The room was lovely and bright, as the front wall and door are all windows, but this did mean that it didn't get fully dark until gone 10pm (if at all) and was very bright by 5am, granted this was exacerbated by having a toddler in tow, so might not bother others as much. We will be back for sure!”
“We had a lovely evening and the meal was very filling. A lovely surprise was the singer singing some Christmas classics. As always the staff are excellent.”
“Undoubtedly one of the best independent cafes in Cardiff. We enjoyed our lattes and tipsy latte (coffee with baileys). The staff is very friendly and attentive. Will visit again!”
“This place is so cute! Like a mini castle. The scones.. marvellous! The tea, well I didn't actually have tea but I bet it's the real deal. I had coffee and some scones (I know.. I know) I'll be back though. It's a small tea room with extra seating upstairs, all very relaxing. Definitely worth a visit.”
“Loved it. It was the perfect place for a typical kitchen pantry in case you want to stock up on Indian groceries in the kitchen, be it spices, ready mix masala's, dry grains, rice, pulses, breakfast products such as Pohe, Suji/Rawa, Atta, canned or tinned food. such as Chawali, Kala chana, red chana, rajma, Chile etc. And moreover the fresh vegetables such as fresh turmeric, lemongrass, curry leaves, guava, whole coconut, pumpkin for sambar, dudhi, karela, drumsticks aka in Marathi Shevgyachya shenga, etc. For chaitime and snacktime, rusk.toast, khari, biscuits such as almost favourite of many people - Parle G, good day, maska chaska etc. Also The fresh butchers section which sells such as chicken lever, gizard/petha, drumsticks, leg pieces, lamb kheema, mutton kheema, chicken kheema and a huge variety of options in fresh meat. The beauty is you could buy it as per your requirements and need. I recommend this especially to the students, it's one stop solution for them to equipped the pantry for Indian groceries.”
“Lovely veggie Sunday roast, huge portions, lots of vegetables, creamy mash, roast potatoes, parsnips, veggie gravy and jam sponge for desert. Friendly staff and good home cooking.”
“Tasty food, first time trying Syrian food and it did not disappoint. So many different flavours, nice menu and friendly staff. Not to mention the beautiful interior decor.”
“Thank u for finding us a seat for 2 last night on a very busy night in Cardiff. Forgot pics before tucking in, but me And the wife loved the food and service and also the very happy and cheerful staff.”
“Booked a table for 6 @ 7.30 and our table was ready. Drinks, Starters & Main Courses All turned up on time and were delicious. I’d particularly recommend the Lamb Bhuna which came with a particularly well marinated lamb shank. The staff were extremely helpful & attentive and the manager was friendly and knowledgeable. There’s a reason The Empire is still popular after 30 years. Lots of fun and Highly recommended.”
“I’m hoping to move to Cardiff later this year so have been exploring the city for my favourite spots, and this is definitely one of them! Bakers is so beautifully decorated and the vibe in there is amazing. There is so much to choose from food wise and it all looks delicious, from homemade cakes to pancakes, breakfast items and afternoon tea. The staff are so wonderful, super attentive and friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. I can’t wait to go back and try more from the menu, thank you for a wonderful experience!”
