After travelling over from Bristol and getting stuck in traffic for an hour I was doubting our decision, but it was definitely worth the trip. “I had the loveliest experience at this vineyard – it’s an absolute hidden gem! The setting is stunning, with peaceful vineyard views that made the whole visit feel like a little escape. “We love it here. I have come to Ty Madeira for years. The Espetadas are the main event, always cooked perfectly. I think over the years I have had the Fish & Prawn, the Fillet of Beef, and the chicken. Always cooked to perfection. The battered cauliflower that comes with the meal is fantastic. Perfectly cooked, not oily, with a lovely flavor. The service is always fantastic, where the servers build a rapport with you and are happy to laugh and joke with you whilst being very attentive and not overbearing. A definite visit if you are visiting Cardiff.”

“We’ve had such a great afternoon at Poro.I never leave a review but wanted to tonight as I picked up as soon as I walked in that the staff were brilliant ,the atmos was lovely and cozy and that we were in for a lovely evening. The food was fantastic and the Gluten free options were plenty and thoughtful. What made it for us was the staff. They were so tentative, and timing was impeccable…. We never had to ask for anything… they were on it. I will definitely be back again and will recommend to friends and family. A perfect afternoon. Thank You”

The meat melted in the mouth, and the roast potatoes and carrots were divine, cauliflower cheese, and broccoli with garden peas and gorgeous beef gravy Very fast service by very friendly happy staff. My apple pie and ice cream polished off a meal. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend you visit if you're in the area. I've been again on Sunday, and I went for the ultimate combo today. Wow, absolutely beautiful, nice 8oz rump steak some chicken breast and a beautiful rack of ribs. The chips were stunning, and the portions were plentiful. The onion rings were lovely. A very well presented meal that I can personally recommend if you have a good appetite.”

“So it turns out that there’s more than one of these cafes and this one is great too. Location is fantastic on the corner of Victoria Park and the corner position is ideal for catching some sun on a nice day. Food and coffee is excellent with the savoury Welsh cakes being a signature option here and at the Roath location. Really friendly staff - shout out to Robin for a lovely conversation with my breakfast. They also had posters up for Dirty Gnocchi doing evening food there, so we will definitely be back for that. Unexpected in this location but definitely recommended. There’s also parking outside, which is at a premium in this area.”

“A proper cafe that doesn't try to be pretentious. The food is really tasty and the prices are very reasonable. I had the large breakfast and it's really was large. Coffee nice and hot and the service was quick. If you want simple food, done really well and at a great price, you won't get better than this cafe. I can't recommend it enough.”

“Good Italian home style cooking. The mushroom starter was soft and wonderfully seasoned. The cod was flaky in a delicate sauce. The home made Tiramisu was literally a melt in the mouth miracle. We sat outside and the whole time a waiter was outside watching to see if anyone needed anything.”

“My husband and I stayed overnight on a Tuesday evening. The experience was lovely, the hotel is charming and has a great atmosphere of a beautiful home. The greeting upon arrival by Charles (we think) was friendly and helpful as was our departure the next day by a lovely efficient young lady. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - there were a few light bulbs not working in our room but nothing that detracted. The bed was super cosy and comfy. We had a delicious evening meal, and a lovely breakfast before we departed. Long may owner run hotels survive. Super impressed, keep up the good work. Thanks for a great stay. Mr & Mrs Chase.”

“We’ve just been to the six bells for the first time. One of the best Sunday roasts we’ve ever had. Dog friendly restaurant so perfect place for after a long Sunday walk. Staff were all really lovely and attentive. Excellent food at an excellent price for its quality!”
