“I received the highest standard of care from start to finish at the Nuffield Derby Hospital. I needed two separate operations due to hip dysplasia and needed to stay in hospital for two nights following both surgeries. From the first consultation with Mr Stephen to recovering post op on the ward, I was treated with kindness and compassion by an incredibly professional, knowledgeable and caring team. The wonderful nursing and health care staff work extremely hard and they ensured I was as comfortable and pain free as possible, which meant I was soon having physio with the brilliant physiotherapists. The room I stayed in was pristine thanks to hard working staff. The catering team were always friendly and helpful. I would like to say a huge thank you to the entire team at Nuffield Derby (my consultant, anaesthetists, nurses, health care assistants, physiotherapists and everyone who helped me to recover so quickly). I would highly recommend this hospital.”

“Absolutely amazing restaurant, amazing food and by far fair prices. The staff here are so accepting of all people. The staff that work here in my eyes are so accepting of all race's and cultures. Never experienced a time here as to where I haven’t left the restaurant with a full stomach and huge smile on my face. Would recommend this place to anybody.”

“Was excited to try The Windmill as it’s under new management. Went for Sunday lunch with my young family. The service and ambience was lovely. The food was superb. Absolutely delicious and great value for money. Huge portions. My Auntie took home a doggie bag and it lasted two more meals. My new favourite Sunday lunch in Derby. “We had to wait a bit, because vet was performing emergency procedure on someone else's little friend, but it's understandable. All staff was attentive, calm and friendly. Vet was kind, knowledgeable and our scaredy cat was comfortable around her. Clinic is tidy. Location easy to find”

“Stayed here for my time in Etwall and you couldn’t pick a better spot. The location is fantastic and the room itself was nicely decorated and well maintained. “I cannot fault the care and attention received at Derby Children’s Hospital. I arrived at A&E yesterday with my son who was having some pains. We were seen almost instantly and the staff in children’s A&E were absolutely lovely, friendly and attentive. My son was triaged before I even parked the car (he’s 12) and send straight through where he was seen after around 10 minutes. The nurses called the surgeons to examine him and within 1 hour of being at the hospital my son was being prepped for a surgery. 2 hours later and he was in surgery. Every single member of staff we encountered was pleasant, kind, compassionate and not once did we feel like a job or a burden. We were on the Puffin ward for the night following the surgery and again it was clean and friendly and we didn’t have to ask for anything. Staff were always one step ahead. The doctor came to say goodbye and wish us well as the shift changed and the anaesthetist came 2 hours after his shift finished just to say good bye and check on my son in the ward. From A&E staff, nurses, doctors, carers and the brilliant anaesthetists and surgeons - you are all heroes. The care my son received was outstanding and as a parent I could not ask for more. My son is home and recovering well now but a huge THANK YOU to Derby children’s hospital.”

With a broken wrist and being put in plaster on Monday my 12 year old decided to scratch it with a pen and the lid got stuck in his plaster. He stayed beyond his normal hours to re plaster for us an was great with our son- thankyou and totally appreciated”
