“Biggest Co-op I've ever been in, looks very modern and fancy. The staff are really nice and there is a wide selection of things to buy. Wouldn't recommend going a full shopping here as it can be quite expensive. They offer a 10% discount if you have a young Scot card, And 5% cashback if you get a members card.”

“Vapiona is a pretty great restaurant. You get to customise your pasta and it’s all freshly prepared. There are loads of options but vegetarian and non vegetarian. It’s also quite cheap. There is a lot of seating space and you can also see the chefs prepare your food. They also have loads of drinks on the menu and also mocktails. The service is super quick.”

“First time here and it was superb. Service from Rory was above and beyond and the food was amazing. The view was stunning too. I’ve already recommended this place and shall be back. The one thing which let it down was the toilet. That was 2*.”

“Ordered from them tonight and unfortunately had some items missing. However we just gave them a call and a very nice delivery driver came back with our food plus chocolate cake! It was a simple gesture but much appreciated. The rest of the food was very tasty and I really enjoyed the pizza in particular.”

“We ran to this restaurant by chance because we were very hungry and elsewhere was fully booked. Lucky us, we got the chance to visit. Amazing food, amazing pasta. The carbonara was good but the mushrooms pasta was next level 10/10. I liked the pasta there, much more than the pasta i ate in Rome. I highly recommend going there. The restaurant was full. Upstairs was closed. We waited like 15 minutes to be seated. The service can be improved they had 2 waiters and the restaurant was full. I will visit again and again, the prices also was affordable comparing to the quality and taste of the food there. The ambiance was also nice. Cozy and friendly”

“The sign on the shop says 10am-10pm, google says it closes at midnight. In reality 1am is normal, I sometimes get a juice or plum on my late night walks. I dont eat most of the things they sell, but they are near me and open late, so its a 5 from me! Keep up the long hours gents, it's appreciated.”

“Always have the basics that you need. We are able to get meat, milk, bread, herbs, jams, veggies, sandwiches, etc. right here in our local store instead of taking a longer trip. Love this place”

“Good local shop in Newtongrange. Has a bakery section and a good variety of fresh produce. Still has a one way system which can be a pain and very few people abide by this rule. Self serve tills which are great for quickness.”

“Shop is very useful and just opened this year so they're getting used to the customer wants and nots. Very friendly staff and managers who gets the shortfall of products in when you ask. That's good service and why I'll prefer to shop at them rather than the chain stores because they've become too complacent and this store has a nice variety of wines and beverages.”

“I had read reviews before booking and was slightly concerned as there were a few negative reviews about staff and location . My experience was fantastic from the moment we arrived as we were recieved by a lovely welcoming receptionist who sorted the booking in an instant and was very sweet and informative. The room was clean and very comfortable and I felt the hotel had a warm atmosphere. My son and I chose to have a meal in the restaurant and were given great service by the bar and waiting staff.Food was really good and the Manageress was excellent running around and ensuring customers were happy and attended to there every need.Top marks to the staff and for the excellent service. I would recommend this hotel .As far as location and complaints about the distance from Edinburgh city centre these people obviously got on the no. 1 bus instead of the 26 which only take 15 /20 minutes to take you into the centre of Edinburgh. No complaints from me and would book again.”

“Can store bags at the Royal. The Haymarket is lovely with pleasant staff and resteraunt reasonably priced. The added bonus is that our train wasn't due until 6pm. We could store our bags, but didnt want the 1 hour walk from train station and back to collect them. We asked and they have a policy that bags can be stored in other Leonardo hotels, so we dropped them off at the Royal next to the train station for free and enjoyed our day worry free.”

“Brilliant experience staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are really clean and tidy and modern. A few essentials are missing such has a kettle and hairdryer but that is a nitpick. The access to a gym is really handy as well if you want to start your day with a workout. The location is really good just a few minutes away From Princess Street.”

“This was one of the nicest Hotels that we stayed at on our Insights Vacations tour of UK and Ireland and in a great position. Note the fridge in the room is a cooler not a fridge (works ok if you get a bucket of ice from the bar) Also a note that both my wife and I thought Cass on reception was fantastic and made our stay even better with her helpful advise and pleasant personality”

“I’ve been dreaming of finding a gem like this in Edinburgh!!!! It was absolutely perfect. I had the pink avocado toast and halloumi fries. They were impeccable. I also had a pot of earl grey tea with cream. It was all made with the highest quality ingredients, the servers and host were attentive, charming, and hilarious. I came for a quick breakfast and stayed for the atmosphere and abundance of deliciousness. I will definitely be returning and telling all my friends! P.S. I added a Gold Digger Latte at the end for take away and it was beyond amazing.”

“Had a really lovely meal here on Valentine's Day. The host was very welcoming and charming. He was attentive without being in our way. We both had starters and mains and a bottle of wine. I had a goat curry which came with some of the best rice I've ever had in my life. My partner had Jollof Rice with Chicken and thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you very much!”

“Honestly the best salt and chilli chips you can hope for - proper stir-fried pepper and onion, good level of flavourings, crispy and fluffy chips - can see them tossing them in the wok in the kitchen. Haven't tried the other food but can't eat salt and chilli chips from anywhere else now as these are so good.”
