Despite a last-minute cancellation from another restaurant, Hanan and Inam went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 18 people with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Their service was nothing short of outstanding—attentive, courteous, and truly welcoming from start to finish. The food was phenomenal. We ordered the Tawa for 4, and every element was bursting with flavor. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked, and the pakoras were crisp, fresh, and delicious. Portion sizes were generous, and the quality was evident in every bite. The mocktails were equally impressive—refreshing, vibrant, and beautifully presented. I tried four different ones, and each one was fantastic. A special thank you to Chef Shayru for delivering such exceptional dishes. This was honestly one of the best dining experiences we’ve had, and we can’t wait to return. I’ll be recommending Shish Mahal to all my friends and family. This place truly deserves to expand into Edinburgh—their standard of food and service is outstanding.”

“I frequently order from here I get either a beef and mushroom or char sui and mushroom with egg fried rice. The sauce is lovely and its absolutely amazing probably the best in West Lothian. My partner tried their char sui and mushroom for the first time the other night and she fell in love with it. “We tried Gilmerton Wok when both of our usual takeaways were closed, and we've never gone back to either of them! The food at Gilmerton Wok is the best Chinese food that we've tasted in ages. I particularly love their Singapore fried rice - just enough of a kick without going over the top. The people behind the counter are always friendly and chatty, and even in busy periods, it doesn't take ages to get your food. We've never tried delivery, as they are so close to us, but there is a constant stream of delivery drivers, so it must be a very popular choice.”
