“Since I started school here, Red Chilli has been my go-to spot for authentic Nigerian food. I’ve tried other African restaurants in Hull, but nothing compares to the flavors and quality I get at Red Chilli. The food here brings me a real taste of home, and it’s consistently delicious. Every dish feels freshly made with just the right spices, and I can tell they care about maintaining that true Nigerian flavor. Their jollof rice, suya, and egusi are some of my absolute favorites. Not only is the food spot on, but the portions are generous, so you always get a satisfying meal for a good price. Red Chilli is more than just a restaurant for me; it’s a piece of home away from home. If you’re looking for an authentic Nigerian dining experience in Hull, this is it – nothing else comes close!”

“Located inside the indoor market, Joella's is solid German food, with a little twist. I went for the schnitzel pitta - think of a Greek gyro with breaded chicken on the inside and you've got the idea. The schnitzel was made to order, and was filled with fresh salad and skin-on fries with some mayo and spicy house sauce, if you're feeling brave. They also do a large serving of currywurst with fries, sauerkraut and pickles, which I'll be coming back for, and foot-long fries are also on the menu. The owners are friendly, the food is fresh, and there's a car park next door which offers two hours for free. Check it out.”

“Lots of drink and got starving. Lots to pick from on the menu that all sounded amazing. I opted for a smashed burger taco. Arrived quickly and it was yummy. Absolutely packed full of flavour. Love the pub, first time trying the food and it didn't disappoint ❤️”

“My husband and I visited here on Sat. It's a beautiful place to unwind either for lunch or just a drink. I can't comment on the meals as we only had a coffee and a bun, which was lovely, a bit expensive but worth the ambience of the place. There are a couple of nice walks around the area also.”

“Party of four, we had a chicken burger, beef brisket, pizza, and the meat platter, with a side of loaded fries and nachos. Everything was well cooked, the brisket just fell apart in your mouth the burnt ends melted, the chicken burger was crispy and full of flavour. The pizza was nice and thin, if a little burnt on the edges, but it was still great. Staff were good, and in a surprising change, they didn't keep coming to the table disrupting you while eating. Although it was difficult to get their attention when we wanted drinks. It was quiet when we visited but it had a nice chilled atmosphere, the cost was about £35 a person with drinks which we don't think is bad for the food quality. We will definitely be revisiting in the future.”

“Great local Reggae Rum bar & restaurant. Serving great delicious jerk Carribbean dishes . Every plate a mouth watering delight . Great selection of Beers wines and fab cocktail menu. Mixed in a funky vibrant setting on Newland Avenue. A must if you're in the area.”

“The fish and chips at Purple Fish were amazing. The fish was super fresh, with a golden, crispy batter that was light and crunchy. Inside the fish was flaky and moist, showing its high quality and careful preparation by the fryer, who was friendly and chatty, as were all the staff. There was a little wait but it was well worth it. We would highly recommend it.”

“Today weather was Georges with blue skies. After my shopping done fancied fish and chips. After reading good reviews decided to try and ordered lightly buttered fish snd chips which made my day . It was lovely golden crispy and melted in mouth. Thanks for the beautiful fish abd chips and making my day.”

“Amazing food, drink and atmosphere. It was great to sit at the bar and watch what the head chef could produce from such a small space! Everything that came out looked amazing and our charcuterie and cheese board (there were hot meals on the menu, but we didn’t have time) was unbelievable and everything was of the highest quality. “Normally set meals seem to be made up of stuff that doesn't sell to well, here is definitely not like that! The food is outstanding without the overwhelming hit of MSG that goes with some Chinese restaurants. The staff and service at this place are excellent and the food comes out exactly on time. Stanley restaurant is a higher end establishment with an excellent atmosphere. The menu is quite contemporary and the food is very well presented. A person would not be disappointed by a visit here”

“This is a good Chinese restaurant with really friendly staff and a menu with a good range of options. There are dishes that you would see at most Chinese restaurants as well as some that are less common, which is always nice to see. They are happy to make reasonable changes to dishes for you. Allergens are labeled on the menu and we've eaten here several times with no issues with allergen cross contamination, even when we haven't specifically pointed it out. The building is an old English pub so from the outside you might not realise that it is a Chinese restaurant, making it feel like a bit of a hidden gem to me! I've visited several times now and will definitely be going back!”

“Absolutely love it here. It’s the best homemade food around. We went in on Sunday for a break from cooking. We booked a table and it was good job we did as it was busy. “It was the first time we have done a bottomless brunch and we will definitely be back...it was great. There was 6 of us and from the moment we arrived upto the moment we left, we had great service. “Our first visit was around a year ago now after we watched a livestream on youtube. We have visited almost every week since. Over our many visits I have managed to work my way through the menu and tried pretty much everything on there. I can honestly say there isn't a single thing that I haven't liked. I've even been lucky enough to try specials when available. Everything I have tasted has been delicious. But the dumplings and wontons are just out of this world. We live 2 hours away and make the journey to visit here. I have never been in a takeaway where you can watch the chefs cook and if you can it's a need to see. The stuff they can do is amazing. They're a wok master and queen of the wok for good reason. The family is so friendly and helpful and have even offered us advice for making things at home. If you haven't been you are missing out. I would move to Hull just so I could eat here every night. Highly recommend the Boazi if they're available and the crispy chilli beef is one of my favourite dishes.”

I think we ordered almost everything on the menu between us and not one person was disappointed. The staff went above and beyond, they were attentive and friendly.
