Pub in Hull

“Booked a table here for a birthday meal. Menu varied with something for everybody. Average price is around £15 but meals coming out of the kitchen were massive and could easily feed 2 people. We opted for the Beef Stew and Dumplings and the King Prawn Creamy Pasta. Both were delicious and very very filling. There were desserts available but we had nowhere to put them! Wine is a sensible £14 a bottle. Venue itself was warm and clean and modern. When we finished our meal we took our drinks into the very comfortable Lounge. Highly recommended and we will become more frequent visitors.”

“Nice quiet friendly establishment with a great sing around on some Saturdays (not sure if it's monthly or fortnightly) but it was a really nice atmosphere with some great musicians playing Nice songs. Hosted by a top bloke called Dave Bernasconi. You should definitely check it out if you like live music”

“Me and my friend came here last week for a bottomless brunch. I’d heard good things and they exceeded my expectations, I didn’t feel awkward constantly ordering drinks and the service was quick and kind! We ended up tipping our two lovely servers and they put music on into the night which was even better. Really enjoyed!”

All the staff were very friendly and attentive. They were coming round on a regular basis to take our drinks order. All the cocktails we had were really good. Would definitely recommend.”

“I recently visited Ponto Lounge ahead of a visit to Hull New Theatre. I have visited a number of the ‘Lounges’ and have found the dining experience to be consistently great; Ponto was no exception. Staff were welcoming and professional. I have rated the service as average as with QR code ordering and payment you are more or less serving yourself with the exception of the drinks and food being brought to table. The food arrived quickly after ordering despite the restaurant seeming pretty busy and was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was warm and cosy with just the right around of atmospheric lighting (not too dark like other places trying to achieve a similar vibe). I highly recommend Ponto Lounge to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Hull.”

“Booked a table for 20 with Garbutts for our work anniversary and every meal was lovely. The food came out fast and correct and was cooked to perfection. I think we ordered almost everything on the menu between us and not one person was disappointed. The staff went above and beyond, they were attentive and friendly. “I had a fantastic experience at Butler Whites. easily one of Hull’s best spots for great food and atmosphere. The menu was creative and everything we ordered was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The industrial-chic setting adds to the charm, making it perfect for both a relaxed meal or a special night out. A special mention to Emme, who made the evening even better with her outstanding service. She was friendly, attentive, and really went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. It’s always great when the service matches the quality of the food, and Emme absolutely nailed it. Can’t wait to come back, highly recommend!”

“Pave is a popular bar in some former shops, the original tiles from the old butchers shop are still on show. There is an excellent choice of beers lager and cider including some cask conditioned real ales which were in excellent condition when I called in. This modern bar is nicely done out. There is an outside seating area at the front, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Pave is deservedly listed in The Good Beer Guide. Dog friendly, highly recommended.”

“We absolutely loves our experience Kim and Alice behind the bar were so helpful and accommodating. Our son has autism and its extremely difficult to go out for a meal when he likes things separately and removing things like cheese salad ...making bacon extra crispy . But they were fantastic and really made our meal fit to our families requirements. It didn't seem a bother at all. It's Sunday half term and despite being very busy we were waiting a very short time for our food and it was cooked perfectly. I have a very happy full family tonight and more exciting my boy who hates leaving the house has asked to come again. Just waiting for our puds which have looked amazing as we saw them at other tables. The young fella clearing tables Jaydan was lovely too he checked on us asking if all was OK and if there was anything we needed. He was good at his job and made sure none of us got burnt as he brought out the very hot plates. Brilliant experience will come again.”

“Me and a friend did the bottomless brunch here, it was £25pp and you got 90 minutes. The food was incredible! We both ordered the chicken and chorizo pasta, they were able to cater for my dietary needs as a Coeliac and ensure they used a separate workspace and equipment, which was such a bonus and i am very grateful as their menu is not gluten free. The atmosphere inside is good too, the music was up to date and they have pool tables and games if u want to try them out. The service for our bottomless was very fast, So with this and the food you definitely get your moneys worth! (compared to the many overpriced bottomless we both have tried) The cocktails are the main aspect however, you are allowed a range of beers and spirits along with Prosecco and regular drinks for your 90 minutes time. We thank all the staff and the chef who were there that night! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this if your looking for a bottomless brunch! (Book 24hrs in advance and the deposit is £5pp)”

“Had a brilliant mixed grill, my partner ordered an 8oz rump steak both turned up nice and quickly and we're cooked to perfection, served by Zöe and she couldn't do enough for us, kept us updated on our meals and was happy to help even when I forgot to ask that my partners steak not be served on a griddle plate. Best service I have had in a long time and would very happily come again.”
