“Enjoyed a quick lunch here before setting off from York. We had the shawarma wrap and plate which were delicious, especially with the garlic and chilli sauces. To start we had the hummus and moussaka which had incredible flavours. The staff were very friendly and helpful, would definitely visit again.”

“Olives were nice, but would have preffered pitted olives personally, and could have been a bigger portion. Garlic bread with caramelised onion starter was nice and enough for 2 people to share a small portion each. Salad was lovely with lots of sauce and added goats cheese. Malbec was nice. Wagyu pizza was very good and the honey sauce was very nice. Vincent our waiter was new and he got our orders right and was very polite. Vegan chocolate cake was nice but probably would have been better had it been warm and maybe with some vegan ice cream. Overall lovely meal.”

“I had a great stay at this modern and stylish hotel. My double room was well equipped with a Nespresso machine (with four pods), plenty of coffee sachets, and a good selection of teas. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and I loved the clever touch of the TV hidden behind a sliding piece of artwork. The large windows let in loads of natural light, and the room controls made it easy to adjust the temperature and fan settings. The shower was another highlight — a spacious, low-level shower enclosure with both a rainfall and handheld shower. Water pressure and temperature were excellent. The separate sink and worktop merged just to the side of the bed area was a nice feature. Breakfast was stacked full of self serve continental options as well as orderabke cooked options including a full English, priced at £25 for adults, but it was included with my stay, which made it great value — and it was absolutely delicious. All the staff were friendly and very helpful throughout my stay. The hotel overall is clean, bright, and modern, with a welcoming bar area that’s perfect for relaxing. A great stay”

“I got exactly the right mattress for me, the sales assistant was on her own in the shop, but her customer service was 100% for all customers. I took delivery on the due date well within the given timescales on a red hot day. I can't fault Bobby's service, a polite phone call early morning to confirm delivery. The politest man you could wish to meet, delighted I'd put the mattress to be taken away in the bag provided when I bought the mattress. Bobby unwrapped the new mattress, and put it on the divan base. He also gave me maintenance information to keep my mattress up to standard. Would I shop at Dreams again? Absolutely!”

“Extensive range of excellent quality furniture and accessories. Jason helped me to choose, nothing was too much trouble for him, it was difficult to choose from such an extensive range, but managed in the end to pick 2x 2 seaters at reasonable price.”

“The Milner is still upto a great standard. Staff are excelent. We were in a front facing superior room. With fantastic views of the Minster. We had a meal last night which was cooked perfectly and the breakfast this morning had a great selection and good quality. We will definely be visiting next Christmas as it is idealy situated for York city centre. Very dog friendly hotel”

“Bought a Velerup wardrobe from the york store . It took a couple of weeks to arrive I was pleasantly surprised at the quality as I hadn't seen it in store . Quite heavy solid build and good instructions (took two to lift it into place once the back was on . Draw runners were metal not cheap plastic ones from other suppliers. Would recommend to anybody .”

“Pleased to report a very courteous and professional service from York Community Furniture Store. I've been downsizing after a series of life changing events this year. That left me with several large serviceable but now unwanted pieces of furniture. After a couple of failed attempts to donate to national charities I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly and easily YCFS collected my items. An initial telephone call to confirm details of goods and building access was swiftly followed by a visit from their polite and efficient team and the whole process was complete in just over 30 minutes. An excellent service and exactly what I needed to assist me through a challenging time.”

“When I came to York to meet my overseas friend, we had actually passed this place. Since then, I've often wondered what it was like. So, seeing as I was spending the day in York, I decided to take a walk to Gatehouse Coffee and try it out. Although it's not an overly big place, it's very quirky and worth a visit! There's some chairs inside, and then a number of tables and chairs outside, which is great when the weather is nice. The lady who served me was super pleasant, as was the two chaps in there too! Was nice to sit outside and relax for a while with a cappuccino. Would definitely come back here again, and a great stop-off if you're walking the York City Walls!”

“I went here last week for a birthday meal and it was great! Great service, pretty environment and very friendly staff! We were welcomed and seated pretty much as soon as we walked in and the waiting time for the food was decent! Zara who was serving us was lovely, such a great service! We weren’t waiting too long and the food was also really good. The burger I had was delicious and the fries were good too! I especially loved the little pot of sauce that came with the meal! The meal was also beautifully presented! Very friendly and welcoming place that serves really nice food! Definitely recommend :)”

“I am very pleased with our lovely kitchen, designed and installed by Danby Interiors. Vicky had some imaginative solutions to our requirements and combined the kitchen project with also enlarging the downstairs toilet to create a utility room. Our new kitchen makes excellent use of space with plenty of storage as we wanted.”

“The most amazing, show stopping floor. We have used the main company to supply reclaimed wood for most of our house over the last few years - it’s fabulous, great quality and still looks great several years down the line. I can’t speak highly enough of the service or the quality.”

“Clean, comfortable and spacious room. Well supplied with tea, coffee and milk and also shower gels shampoos and conditioner in the bathroom. We arrived slightly before the official check-in time, but we were quickly shown to our room without any issues. Just a 20 minute walk to the racecourse in one direction and a 15 minute walk to central York the other way (with some nice, independent suburban shops to browse in on the way). Good value for money. No complaints.”

“Had carpets replaced in 4 rooms plus stairs/landing. Customer service was excellent. Got a good price on a quality carpet, fitters were very skilled and professional. Had to rearrange a couple of dates due to a muscle strain, (we were offered the option of paying for the room clearing service but chose to do it ourselves), we gave a few days notice and all was rearranged easily and seamlessly. I really appreciated the positive, can-do attitude and highly recommend Fully Floored. I don’t normally leave reviews but I’m so delighted, these guys deserve every success.”
