“Bought a Velerup wardrobe from the york store . It took a couple of weeks to arrive I was pleasantly surprised at the quality as I hadn't seen it in store . Quite heavy solid build and good instructions (took two to lift it into place once the back was on . Draw runners were metal not cheap plastic ones from other suppliers. Would recommend to anybody .”

That left me with several large serviceable but now unwanted pieces of furniture. After a couple of failed attempts to donate to national charities I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly and easily YCFS collected my items. An initial telephone call to confirm details of goods and building access was swiftly followed by a visit from their polite and efficient team and the whole process was complete in just over 30 minutes. “Delicious home cooked Polish food! The pork stew was really flavourful, with tender meat. The potato dumplings was the right texture and pairs really well with the sauce and stew. The sour rye soup was absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend!”

He was thorough and informative without being overbearing. “My wife and I spent yesterday at the Barbican for the snooker. After the afternoon session, we decided to see what was available nearby. We didn't have a reservation, but we were quickly shown to a table. Food is excellent well prepared and presented beautifully. High praise to the owner and staff. “I visited Cafe No 8 before Covid and really loved the food. They shorten their operation hours after Covid and we finally made it for Sunday lunch today. We had a starter, mains and dessert. The food was just as good as I remembered. Service was good too. This place just celebrated their 20 years' anniversary in York which tells you that they got to be good to last that long given the ultra competitive food scene here. The food was of top quality, refined and cooked with care. We had beef and pork tenderloin and they were so tender. The potatoes were roasted perfectly. And we had a selection of vegetables (Broccolini, Parsnip, Carrots, Spring Onions etc) not over cooked like many places. And I was so glad to try the Dark Belgian Chocolate Truffle with Black Sesame Ice Cream. I love black sesame ice cream but is a rarity to find them in York. I wish I could buy a tub of their black sesame ice cream and bring it home. If you are looking for a place with a relaxed atmosphere, serving non-pretentious and delicious food, I recommend Cafe No 8 Bistro.”

“One of our favourite places for a boogie in York. Banging music, service us good. Only feedback was the toilets which were a state and could so with someone cleaning them up every hour. Whilst u understand its a late night pub not all of us are 18 and can't handle our ale so having a pee in a cleaner place is always appreciated”

“One of my favourite Thai places in York. The food here is absolutely delicious and great as a dine in or takeaway option. The gluten free options are clearly labelled on the menu with quite a few different dishes being gf. The only thing to note is that when I said I was a coeliac, I was told the gf labelled fish cakes wouldn't be suitable due to cooking methods creating cross contamination. While it is really good that the staff are so well trained in dietary requirements and were able to tell me this clearly to prevent me from getting poorly, it is a shame that something labelled gluten free on the menu wasn't ultimately suitable for coeliacs. They instead advised a different gluten free starter which ended being fantastic.”

“Absolutely fantastic little cafe right behind York Minster. It has about 3 tables (for two) inside the cafe but quite a good number of tables outside. We had coffee and cake, which were both excellent! Can totally recommend!”

“I am very pleased with our lovely kitchen, designed and installed by Danby Interiors. Vicky had some imaginative solutions to our requirements and combined the kitchen project with also enlarging the downstairs toilet to create a utility room. Our new kitchen makes excellent use of space with plenty of storage as we wanted.”

“Had carpets replaced in 4 rooms plus stairs/landing. Customer service was excellent. Got a good price on a quality carpet, fitters were very skilled and professional. Had to rearrange a couple of dates due to a muscle strain, (we were offered the option of paying for the room clearing service but chose to do it ourselves), we gave a few days notice and all was rearranged easily and seamlessly. I really appreciated the positive, can-do attitude and highly recommend Fully Floored. I don’t normally leave reviews but I’m so delighted, these guys deserve every success.”

“On holiday, stumbled across Indian Ocean. Excellent Service, very friendly. Food was amazing, lamb was beautiful and soft with peppers tomatoes and onions, a dish recommended by a member of staff.
