“I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the truly wonderful experience we had during our recent visit. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a delightful evening. We came in specifically for some food and ended up having a fantastic time enjoying both the ambiance and the delicious offerings that were available. My partner chose the gluten-free steak sandwich, and I really appreciate how the servers took the extra steps to ensure it was 100% gluten-free. Their meticulous attention to detail not only made us feel at ease but also significantly enhanced our overall dining experience. It’s rare to find such dedicated service, and it certainly did not go unnoticed. Additionally, the drinks we ordered were absolutely amazing and paired perfectly with our meal, enhancing our enjoyment even further. Each sip was refreshing, and it was clear that great care had gone into crafting them. I would like to extend a big thank you to everyone involved in making our visit so memorable! Your hard work and dedication truly made our outing special, and we look forward to returning in the future to enjoy more of what you have to offer.”

“Bottomless brunch was well worth its value. We’re given a pastry, two smaller portions of our choice, unlimited drinks and a dessert shot. Staff were so nice.”

“1st visit for us today, came away determined to return sometime soon. My wife had the Thai curry which she said was delicious, I had the Fish and Chips. The fish was substantial and delicious, but, the chips were cut too thin with the result that a good number could not be fork eaten and were hard. The portion of chips was also a tad stingy. As mentioned in previous posts the drinks are expensive, I've had cheaper pints in London. But despite this we will be back and in larger numbers I think.”

“Great pub! Fantastic prices and lots of different drink options especially gin! All branded and good quality spirits! *doubles bar* - all spirits are served as 50ml as standard. Good bear garden with seating and an undercover area. Pool table, darts board and Duke box. Really warm and welcoming staff and customers. Really close to the train station and also short walk in to chester city centre.”

“I don't eat there other than the lovely sandwiches they provide for us after a game of domino's. It is a lovely welcoming pub a wonderful place for a catch up.”

“I visited visited the Carlton for the 1st time last night. It was their open mike night and it was amazing.There was one singer guitarist there who was particularly amazing. He did a rendition of the Temptation's 'Papa was a Rolling Stone', one of my favourite all time songs. I cant remember ever having heard it being done so well. He had the most amazing diverse voice, he seemed to be able to do anything with it, from the highest register, to the lowest bass. Least to say I'll be back. I should add that I met some very nice, friendly people”

“Fantastic old-school venue, filled with welcoming staff who deliver excellent customer service. All guests were friendly and cheery making a night to watch England evwn more exciting. Shame about the result but doesn't take away how good this place is. Free buffet at half tome too, excellent”

“Awesome food, ambience, and especially service. Mark, Leon, and Reece were excellent in front of house, and Dan, Alex, and Harrison made sure the food was perfect. Dogs were very welcomed and clearly felt comfortable.”

“Had a lovely meal at the weekend with the family and everyone was happy with their food. The menu has a good selection so should cater for everybody. Our server was very friendly and helped accommodate one of our dietary requirements. There's a very large beer garden section outside which is great for a sunny day. Carpark is on the smaller side.”

“After a change in management this beautiful little local pub is finally getting the love it deserves. The new food menu is delicious and affordable, I especially love the seasonal pumpkin soup! I can't express how lovely the staffing team are they really show care towards new and old customers. Definitely worth revisiting!”

“Just called for a quick one while the weather was actually warmish the other Saturday. Sat in the pleasant beer garden. Served by a very pleasant and polite girl. Couldn't get over the price for a large G and T very reasonable. Didn't have time to eat.”

“We enjoyed a lovely overnight stay in this traditional pub with guestrooms above. The pub itself is large with plenty of informal bar dining areas as well as a more formal table service section. We ordered a pizza to share and although it wasn't outstanding, it was very tasty and the right price point. The breakfast the next morning was also good. The sausage was really tasty and good quality. We stayed in room 1 which was a very small double with an ensuite. Decent shower. I knocked a star off the room as I discovered the room didn't have a hairdryer as advertised and I only discovered this after I had got out of the shower. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and I'm sure they would have got one for me if I had noticed earlier but I didn't want to have to get dressed and go downstairs wet. We would definitely stay again.”

“My wife took some family here for dinner on Friday. The service was excellent - all the team could not have been more helpful and attentive. The quality of the food was excellent, the portions very generous and tasty and, importantly, served piping hot. Definitely cooked to order. A couple of things missing from the menu - probably because of a local food market taking place - but substitutes were available. All in all, ten of ten. Just a shame we are in Kent or we'd be regulars!”

“As a regular at Neighbourhood for lunch when in Chester , we booked private room for our son and daughter in laws wedding celebration evening. The small annex room was perfect for a small gathering. Service excellent and the small plates menu we had chosen were all freshly prepared to a high standard. Highly recommended.”

“The hotel was very nice, reception were friendly and informative. The bar area was a nice space, cocktails were really good as were the fresh coffees, the staff were friendly whilst professional at all times. Breakfast was very good too, constantly topped up with fresh food, decent variety of food on offer. The whole team throughout the hotel work extremely efficiently. You can often judge a place by their reaction when things go wrong and there was a very difficult intoxicated man in the bar area on Friday evening. The staff worked swiftly, professionally & effectively in removing him without disruption to other guests.”

“We didn't stay over but the food was top class. I had chicken stuffed with haggis on top of mash and carrot and turnip, it was so good. The wife had a brisket sandwich which came with salad and chips, she was very impressed. That and a pint cost less than fifty quid.”

“A new pub for Chester. It’s something different to the regular pubs around. A sports bar with darts. Great selection of drinks. Very friendly staff. And good prices. Definitely one to visit.”
