“i visited ego today with a group of 6 friends and we had a lovely time. From the moment we arrived,,the staff were welcoming, attentive and made us feel relaxed. everything ran smoothly and nothing was too much trouble The food was absolutely delicious- everyone at the table loved their dishes and portions were generous. Drinks were great, the atmosphere was lively without being too loud and service friendly and professional. We all said the same thing : we’d definitely come back. A perfect spot for get together with friends. Highly recommend.”

“Absolutely amazing and quality food. Highly recommend the burgers, any are superb and especially the sweet chili chicken bites....wow!!!! I could just eat loads of those. Delivery is decent for timing, never had an issue and arrives as close to the time as possible, (astong traffic is terrible) but they live up to expectations. Never been inside so I cant rate for the service but I am sure its great.”

Place is small and cosy, and staff were polite and friendly and explain what’s in the broth. Recommend to bring cash as there is a 3% fee charge for card payment.”

The staff, especially the Italian man, who i assume was the manager, were lovely and very welcoming. he was extremely helpful and was thorough when explaining the food; he was very polite along with the rest of the staff. the starters were brought out with only about a 10 minute wait, and the food produced was amazing and very well presented. the mains were lovely and were brought out in no time - everyone was full after this! this is an amazing restaurant and i have already recommended this to family and friends - will be coming here again!”

“Great pub with a great atmosphere. We went to see a fabulous local band called Trilogy. They were amazing! My 81 year old mother never stopped dancing all night. Great variety of drinks and plenty of staff, so didn't have to wait to order drinks long at the bar. Felt really safe in there.”

“This is the best fish and chips shop around. The portions are large and reasonably priced for the portion size. I have even tried some of their chinese meals which I just love. “Old local friend! A perfect mixture of a Bar, a Restaurant,and a Coffee Shop - with a leafy terrace. Food is delicious, always cooked fresh, sourced locally whenever possible, by a proper Chef! Staff is trained, professionally trained is what I mean, with an ever present friendly touch. Menu is reasonably priced. I can’t comment on the wines myself, but I’m assured by my (well over 18!!) daughters that the cocktails are expertly made by the men / women behind the Bar… And the biscuits accompanying your coffee are home made….None of the cellophane wrapped skinny oval shaped “industrial skinny biscuits “!!! Busy at weekend, dogs are welcome, I recommend it to everyone! Never regretted any visit, quick coffee or proper food with friends…”

“Popped in to the pub today to try it as it’s under new management - really nice family, very welcoming and drinks were good. Kitchen opening soon so haven’t tried the food yet but we spoke to Alfi who will be managing the kitchen and is a really nice guy with great plans for food from next weekend. Also dog friendly - they made a big fuss of our dogs and they had the wood burning stove lit which created a lovely cozy place to stop on our walk. We will definitely be back to try the food and some more drinks. We hope the wider community supports them as well as this used to be a great pub on the canal to stop at and they really want to return it to that - we wish them success and happiness at The Slipway.”

“Fabulous food! Fish portions are large and perfectly cooked in golden batter and the chips are perfection, nice and crispy rather than the flaccid variety found all too often. Pizza is also excellent! The owners are lovely people who work very hard to serve their local community with high quality fast food that doesn't cost the Earth. Well worth a detour. enjoy !!!”

“My friend and I got the small fish, chips and mushy peas for £5.50 each. It was the best fish and chips I've ever tasted and such good value. The chips weren't too greasy and the batter on the fish light and crispy. Well worth a visit.”
