“Classic Chester city centre pub with low beams and darker interior although the music livened the place up nicely. Enjoyed my visit and a decent selection of real ales and candles lit on all the tables adding to a nice relaxing vibe. Looks historical on the outside and even more so after you enter.”
“Great bar good atmosphere, bar staff friendly beer well kept.”
“Lovely little cafe, lovely atmosphere, very attentive staff. Food was freshly cooked & delicious.”
“The best restaurant on the Fylde coast! The food is served so quickly and it is delicious. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I have been going to this restaurant for years and the standards have never slipped. I love the complementary breadsticks, dip and olives! 100% recommend the Penne Al Forno and Garlic Mushrooms (starter)”

“Great coffee, good prices, and tons of vegan/vegetarian options. They have nondairy milk and the atmosphere was very nice. The people working were very friendly, 10/10. I got the mocha and it was a lot tastier and more affordable than the coffee I got from Crosby Coffee near Sefton.”

“A friendly pub in the heart of the community. Staff are great and beer is reasonably priced. The pool table is the heart of this typical local.”
“Food was great and at a good price plus staff was so nice! I highly recommend it!”
“Went on a quiet Thurs eve spur of the moment, and what a gem, deceiving place as it looks small from outside but food area is really big out back, good decor and friendly environment. The food was varied and was reasonable in price, we had scotch egg and beetroot and avocado tartar to start, a normal burger and the thatch burger as mains and that was enough we were stuffed couldn’t eat it all, the service was friendly and chatty but not over bearing. We will definitely be back again!!”
“What a Hidden gem. Me and my partner stopped by for some lunch and the food was spot on, the prawns were definitely a favourite. The Seating area outside is lovely be really nice in the warmer weather. We will definitely be back in the near future wish this place was closer to home!”

“I had the absolute pleasure of flying in from Canada to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday at The Farmers, and from start to finish, the entire experience was nothing short of exceptional. Organizing an event like this from overseas can be stressful, but the team at The Farmers made everything smooth, seamless, and truly enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed warmly, not something you always get at event venues. Anne and Rachel were incredibly hands-on and proactive, making us feel supported every step of the way. They helped us with the setup and décor, offered thoughtful suggestions, and were always available to answer questions or offer a hand. Their attention to detail was excellent. The catering was fantastic, fresh, beautifully presented, and full of variety. A personal highlight for me was the delicious selection of afternoon sandwiches, served while we were setting up, as a thoughtful touch that kept everyone going. Throughout the evening, the food continued to impress our guests, with many commenting on its quality. I had several audio-visual requirements for the night, and I was half-expecting to be told some of them wouldn’t be possible, but instead, the team went out of their way to accommodate every request. They made sure everything ran smoothly, and I never once felt like I was “asking too much.” The evening itself was a complete success. The space was beautifully set up, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the bar staff, who deserve their own special mention, were phenomenal. Friendly, upbeat, and genuinely happy to be part of the celebration, they added a lot to the night's energy. It truly felt like they were celebrating with us, not just working the event. In a world where excellent customer service often feels rare, The Farmers delivered an experience that was beyond five stars. I couldn’t have asked for a better venue or a better team to help us celebrate such a meaningful milestone. Thank you for making my mum’s birthday so special. I’ll be talking about it for years to come.”
“Very friendly pub with nice music, with mainly retired regulars. One unique point about the place is that its bar is about a foot shorter at the top end than the bottom end because of the steep slope of the floor inside. But the good news is the bar is perfectly level. They always seem to have great 70's music playing in the background which is the best era for most of the customers. They usually have a great range of real ales and beers. Something to suit everyone and service with a smile.”
“Not cheap but not too expensive, a lovely choice of food and drinks. Plenty of free parking at the side of the Deli and they are dog friendly, then after eating take advantage of the many walking trails. Easy walking, if you are planning to take the kids or dogs. Get up on top of the quarry for a great view of the Mersey. Staff were very friendly and they also have toilet facilities on site.”
“I'm a member of the weekly knit and natter group and I have a meal at Nordico most weeks. I have to say I really enjoy the food (I've never had a bad meal). The staff (especially Tom) are always welcoming, and deal with everyone in respectful and caring way. Thanks.”
“I would give more stars if I could! Me and my husband got a cosy table for two on a busy Saturday night. We loved the music and the restaurant smelled amazing. The first thing I noticed is how friendly and attentive the staff were. We ordered the platter for two and the bread which came as a started was out of this world fresh tasting and fluffy. The meat was juicy and seasoned to perfection which left me thinking about eating it every day. I honestly think this place is my new favourite restaurant and will be going back often. We ordered desert, baklava with ice-cream. The portions were perfect and service was quick and effortless. We both had a really positive experience so thank you to all the staff, front and back of house.”
“Lovely quirky little old fashioned pub, serving simple but great food at fair/reasonable prices.”
“I had the pleasure of inviting my beloved friends whom introduced me to this place ( they are live in Chester and I am an Architect from Kurdistan region of Iraq) to have a delightful lunch with my family, all five members agrees that the best fish and chips we had in UK was in this restaurant; we’ve tried several in London , Liverpool and Manchester but nothing to beat this restaurants fish and chips , also had their chicken sort of pie looking dish , perfect as well , very nice interior and outdoor seating and garden , Salut to the team and polish lady who served us.”
“I received a warm welcome as I popped in to the ship inn today. A very kind gentleman closely resembling Harry Hill even showed me to a fabulous upstairs seating area. This was perfect for a warm summers day as the breeze through the bifolds was most welcome. The food came promptly and was home cooked. On Mondays it’s even half price! A surprise find as I don’t often cross over the river. The Ship Inn is situated on the river Dee bridge. On this occasion I was walking but suspect there’s a small car park opposite. The ground floor is accessible and has a loo situated here for those with mobility or creaky knees you should be fine. Nice beer lovely food and very welcoming staff I highly recommend and won’t leave it so long to cross the river next time!”
