“2nd visit to Elliotts for a working day and once again met with friendly staff and great food & coffee! The avo and poached eggs are the best, highly recommended! We will be back next month for our meeting!”
“A really lovely local pub.We received a warm welcome from the Land Lady (on my very first visit today) and from the regulars who constantly fed my Golden Retriever with treats. Next time, I won't bother to feed him beforehand!! I will certainly be returning, especially as it's in walking distance.”
“Ive been coming them for years now and they have always done a perfect job always friendly verry helpful and the food is perfect 100% recommend to everyone”
“Came for a quick drink and a little bite to eat.First time we'd been here. Smart place, groovy decor and relaxed atmosphere. Really friendly, welcoming and helpful service. Nice choice of dishes, we just ordered a few different starters. Very tasty but portion sizes were a tad small, especially with the octopus. Very easy drinking house lager. Would love to try the main courses at summer point in the future. Prices very reasonable.”
“A Hidden Gem with Wonderful Improvements! I’ve been visiting this bakery as of recent, and I have to say, the improvements since the change of staff have been incredible. It’s always been a lovely little spot, but now it truly shines! The selection of cakes and food is fantastic—everything is fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The coffee is brilliant too, with a great range of options to suit everyone’s taste. Whether you fancy a strong espresso or a creamy latte, they get it just right every time. The staff are a real credit to the place—so friendly, polite, and genuinely welcoming. It’s a small, family-run business, and you can tell they put their heart into everything they do. Cleanliness is clearly a top priority here. The ingredients are always fresh, and the tables, chairs, and cutlery are spotless. It’s also reassuring to see their hygiene rating proudly displayed at the front of the shop. One of the best things about this bakery is the space. It’s not cramped like some cafés, and there’s even a lovely garden where you can sit outside and enjoy your food in the fresh air. It’s such a peaceful spot to relax, especially on a sunny day. Given the rise in the cost of living, I also really appreciate that the prices here are very reasonable. You get great quality food and drinks without feeling like you’re overspending, which makes it even easier to keep coming back! All in all, I highly recommend this bakery. It’s a warm, welcoming place with great food, fantastic coffee, and lovely people running it. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!”
“American style diner with friendly and welcoming staff. Great for families. We love the burgers and salad, and happy hour! Huge variety on the menu, with lots of daily deals.”
“Had such a gorgeous lunch here yesterday for my sisters birthday. There were 14 of us including 5 feral children and the waiting staff were all so patient and lovely. Particular shout out to our main waiter Tom who was absolutely amazing, so helpful and smiley and never made us feel like a pain! Nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely, big portions and nice quality. The play area is of course great for the kids. Will definitely be back - thank you!”
“Finished my walk in Farnborough Village and really glad I stumbled upon this traditional public house. Professional & friendly bar staff. Clean interior. Real ale was kept in excellent condition. Competitive prices. Would definitely visit again.”
“What a lovely cosy place , perfect for families. Visited them with my family for a dinner. Staff was courteous and they don’t push meals on you. You can relax and enjoy your food in luxury of your time. We loved all what we order right from drinks , tapas , mains and sundaes . Fired chicken with Bombay spices was extraordinary and I loved the bang bang chicken with noodles the most. Will revisit soon. Thanks”
“Love this place, been a few times and tte food is great. Staff are really friendly also.”
“Managed to get a last minute booking for Sunday lunch and how happy I was that we did. From the minute we arrived and were welcomed, by Joel our waiter, the experience just got better and better. Joel was lovely and so good with the children as well. Advised us on food options and very courteous and friendly. And the roast dinner was just amazing, I had lamb rump, 2 of us had the trio of roast and 1 had the pie of the day. Food was absolutely great, best roast dinner I have had for years. Will be back.”
“Food was good and the staff friendly (Elise-sorry if I’ve misremembered your name). The place was clean and comfortable with easy parking. There was a small delay with the food being served at that particular time due to a wake being held in another private room but we were kept informed and apologies were offered. Would recommend The Chelsfield Arms.”
“The food us always lovely in here. During summer nights lovely to eat alfresco. Last time we came in a big take food took over an hour to come, this weekend service was quick even though it was very busy.”
“Our last walk of the year on the 30th Dec 2023, resulted in us having a small refreshment stop here. We were warmly welcomed, upon entering this gem of a traditional pub. The menu looked to be a great choice of the usual pub food. I'll note here that there's a large selection of pies. Which included their Festive December Pie. We weren't hungry on this occasion so chose their basket food, which was reasonably priced and arrived quickly. The rest room facilities were clean and tidy, and I'll note the men's was larger than most for this area. A queue for these would be a rare thing I'd say. In summary a cosy atmosphere, and warm unlike many pubs I've visited recently. I am looking forward to another walk in this area, so I can try out the pies of The George and Dragon.”
“Went for Christmas Day Lunch, with my wife and a friend. Food was hot, well cooked and well presented with decent quantities - no skimping! No issues whatsoever; apart from the fact that we may need to book months earlier next year! We are irregular customers, and have never had a reason to complain about anything over the years we have been using The Black Horse.”
“Lovely place even if you just catching up with some friends for a cup of coffee ☕ Really nice atmosphere and a freshly renovated interior!”
“Had a great time on Friday night at the Queens head. The pub was electric and the music was terrific, would very much recommend it. The staff were very friendly and efficient especially Jack the landlord and Tracey.”
“We hold a monthly craft meeting at the Maxwell. The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming. The team open early for us, which is amazing of them. We are always made to feel welcome and Flo is always so hospitable and helpful. We love how accessible the location is too. The food is great, we just wish there was breakfast service too!! ☺️”
“The best sausages I have ever had are sold here and always cooked to perfection. I have lived in all corners of the world and am currently working in Antarctica and I still crave those sausages.”
“Lovely Costa in the Tescos, mince pie for breakfast and large cappuccino sets up the day. Really friendly staff and nice area to sit”
“The workers are really kind and are really patient. The tables are always clean, and you can always get , whether that's for one person or 5. They have sandwiches, hot drinks, water, and orange juice, so whatever you might want, they have.”
“Had a private event and had two lovely members of staff called Shan and Meg and they were fantastic all night”
“I’ve been coming to this Costa Coffee for the past three to four months, and I can honestly say it’s been an amazing experience every time. The staff are incredibly friendly, always welcoming with a smile, and the service is consistently excellent. The quality of the drinks and food is top-notch, and the whole place is spotless clean, tidy, and really comfortable. It's clear they take pride in what they do. I’m genuinely impressed and grateful for the warm, positive atmosphere they create. This Costa has become my go-to spot, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great coffee experience.”
“Just amazing place, food never disappoints, service is very friendly and polite. Nachos and ribs were fantastic.”
“The beauty is the pricing… It’s like a cold breeze passing by…. It’s just one forth the price from where ever you have a glass of beer…. Wide range to select and drink from.. Food was amazing, crispy stuff, to be eaten hot… than get it soggy… The next thing is that it’s a self service place..applicable to place tour food orders fast.. Go earlier book and get your table, pay for you drinks and unwind…”
“A super gorgeous place for cappuccino and carrot cake!!! Very polite staff, speedy service, exceptionally clean , can easily seat up to 40! Guests. Average prices”
