Intimate dinner for two in London

“Having known Arjun the chef from Everest and other places then to hear he is at dragons lounge so since then have been coming to DL for the last year. This weekend they hosted a party of 60 of us and from start to finish Arjun and his colleagues have been brilliant. They catered for all our needs and even last minute changes they didn’t get upset about. The food was exceptional. Chilli Garlic Mogo, aloo papdi chaat to the mains veg tawa etc I have had numerous messages from family members saying the food was great and that they all had a great time. Thank you all at DL for making it a great event. Keep up the great work.”

“Really nice Indian takeaway food, the guy on the desk was so friendly, checked for us if there were any nuts in dishes, and they made our takeaway really quickly. Even gave us a free poppadom! Highly recommended.”

“This is a gem of a restaurant. The pasta dishes are absolutely amazing. We’ve been visiting for several days and finally stopped in to eat. We were not disappointed in the food or service. We had the pheasant and the rabbit dishes and they were fantastic! We even went back a second night and had the same dishes and my son had the steak; it was delicious. Everything is made to order and comes out piping hot. The service is absolutely wonderful very friendly and personable. Of all the places we ate in London this was by far the best!”

“This was my first visit to this restaurant which was chosen by my client for a business meeting because he is vegan. There are more Plant Based options on the menu than not and they all looked / tasted great. For those of us who also eat meat, I can say the venison was spectacular. Both of us left having truly appreciated a fantastic meal. The venue was perfect, great location in a sophisticated part of town and the ambience was well judged. It's not the biggest restaurant but there was enough space between tables to have discrete conversations without concern. As a further vote of confidence, I will be visiting again in the new year with my wife... AND DOG :) Sean, our fantastic waiter positively encouraged me to bring our dog. Table 6 is probably best if you bring your furry friend because its a little removed from the other tables. I'm looking forward to my next visit - thanks again for the great service Sean.”

“Fantastic experience of a Latin American tasting dinner. The ambience was fab, great atmosphere, we were introduced to chef and she explained the story behind her menu. Every taste was delicious, delicate and flavoursome. We loved it . The only slight thing is the toilets are a bit grot but I didn't use them so I didn't care! Again, the food was amazing”

“absolutely incredible restaurant. had my first escargot and they were very good. my girlfriend had a steak that was one of the best she’s ever had she says. we also shred some strawberries for desert that were exquisite. best part though was the waitress who was just a great vibe - didn’t manage to get her name but she made us laugh and feel very comfortable.”

“By far the best steak we have found in Clapham. Highly recommended. If you love your steak lean and rare (and have someone to share a steak for 2 with), we particularly recommend the chateaubriand. But all the steaks we've tried have been excellent. Their sides and starters are also great (and you really need to try their corn brulee!) but be a little careful on how many of them you order. The generous portion sizes plus free signature "yorkshires with gravy" and great homemade bread can impact your ability to do justice to them all. But they are happy to provide a doggy-bag if you need one :-) . Their Sunday roasts are also great. It's a small restaurant and very popular with locals, so book well ahead to get a table, esp for Sunday lunch. Staff are very friendly and welcoming which compliments the charming local atmosphere very well.”

“I have finally found it the best restaurant in London. The taste is absolutely amazing. The kimchi jeon reminded me of Korean holidays. How can they be so good at both Japanese and Korean cuisine? This place is an incredible restaurant that excels in cleanliness, taste, and service. I also loved the atmosphere it felt comfortable even when dining alone. In fact, when I was there, many people were eating alone as well. If you’re reading reviews and hesitating, I’d say don’t hesitate. just try it”

“We were craving a Ramen on a cold evening so we didn't get to taste their sushis but they looked delicious. All Ramens were just perfect, the tuna tataki was excellent and the gioza very good too. The service was super friendly so we'll definitely come back for some sushis!”

“This place deserves much higher review points. Everything is perfect. Literally perfect It has been around many years. Feels so cosy with carpet and cushion decoration. Lighting and music really on point and good. Really helpful staff. Enough time between the meals. Had beef tartare and tempura squid and prawn as a starter. Burger and beef stroganoff for main. Cost around £60 per person inc service charge which is really reasonable for the quality they are providing. Thanks”

“We were torn between an afternoon tea at Cinnamon Kitchen, or going to Dishoom - and I’m so glad we decided on the afternoon tea at Cinnamon Kitchen! The food was incredible quality, and the atmosphere was very beautiful and relaxing. My personal favourite was the fish cake sandwich (and the chocolate mousse!) The service and the staff were incredibly welcoming and made sure we were happy throughout, particularly our waiter, Novin. A wonderful experience - I would absolutely come again!”

Being a busy joint in a very busy area of London, the ingredients are fresh and the food is tasty and light. I love how they serve the dishes piping hot. I have been to my fare share of Indian restaurants and this gem of a place is up there for me in terms of food quality. Service: The staff have been welcoming during every visit and we even made friends with the chef who rightfully takes pride in what he does and you can feel his passion in his voice. The highlight for me though was this one time we found our dish a bit too spicy and they were so kind, they brought us extra yoghurts and complimentary drinks (the mango lassi is a must try). These acts of kindness make lifetime customers out of strolling passersby. Verdict: Very strongly recommended”

“Elystan street is hands down my favourite restaurant in London and I can’t recommend it enough! The food is incredible and service is highly attentive! They have an amazing seasonal menu if you go for the early seating at 6:30 as well as incredible a la carte and 6 course tasting menu options! For special occasions they have a hand written card on your table signed by all the members of the kitchen. It is a bit on the pricier side (with the exception of the seasonal menu which is great value) but highly worth it! Atmosphere is quaint, light music with general restaurant chatter so you can have a nice conversation over dinner, the tables are also well spaced apart”

“Came here after a long day of walking in London for dinner. Stumbled upon this restaurant and had dinner. They admired our 7:30pm deadline to Adelphi Theatre, and helped us pick a good quick meal. We had the pork, salmon, 2 coconut soups (strongly recommended) and chips. It took 25 minutes for our food to get here, and for a restaurant that was not that empty, it was very pleasant. Prices are a little above average but the benefits outweigh the cons. Definitely worth visiting and will come back if i go to london again.”
