“We had a great dinner here and really enjoyed the experience. The fish and chips were perfectly crispy and fresh, and the burger was juicy and full of flavor — exactly what you want from a good pub. A special mention goes to Nush, who looked after us during the evening. She was incredibly kind, friendly, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived.”

“The food and atmosphere was great. They even took the poo out the shrimp which is a win for me. The decor was pretty and aesthetic. We were served by victor he was lovely and very vibrant. The ‘pink fluffy drink’ was cute and packed a punch. The nachos share platter was very nice. The ‘mac melt’ is a delightful. The only bad thing i would say is the coleslaw was room temperature and tasted a bit old but it didn’t really make a difference.”

“We visited for the first time on 18/12/25, the interior was beautiful with a roaring fire, the staff were attentive, friendly and very welcoming. We had the Turkey pie to share, full of meat, with excellent pastry! We had the chocolate yuke log dessert which was phenomenal! We will be going back as it was a lovely experience.”

“We were 4 people and each had different meals, and we all agreed that the food was excellent, with a large menu. The portions were large, very tasty, and very good value for money. The food was all freshly made. The music was pleasant Indian music, at a reasonable volume. If you want a vegetarian/vegan restaurant, I highly recommend.”

“A friend brought me here for a meet up as she lives in London and I live near Brighton. The waiter service was great, Mete was helpful about the food and friendly and fun. However, it was the food that knocked me out. I'm a veggie and the nut roast was fabulous, as was everything else. Top marks, you beat the top veggie restaurant in Brighton by a mile.”

“Exceptional Pasta Experience at Manteca! My first visit to Manteca was absolutely fantastic! The restaurant itself is super cool and chic, with dark-toned lighting and minimalist design creating a great atmosphere. The customer service was superb—interactive, informative, and genuinely attentive. Our server, Jack, was amazing; he ensured we were always looked after and really enhanced our meal. We ordered a few things to share: the focaccia, ricotta and chili dip, crab pasta, beef ragu, kale pasta, peach sorbet, and beef fat fudge. The pasta is incredibly fresh, and the sauces were wonderfully rich yet light, not heavy at all! I'd recommend sharing 3-4 pasta dishes as the portions aren't huge, which is perfect for trying more of the menu. Despite the restaurant being very busy, there wasn't much of a wait for the food. A special shoutout to the peach sorbet—it literally tasted like a burst of fresh peach! You can tell they prioritize high-quality ingredients and fresh produce across the board. For all this food, the bill came to just £80 (no alcohol), which is great value for money. Overall: 8.5/10. It was a truly excellent experience and definitely a step above most other popular pasta spots. Highly recommend!”

“Such a hidden gem! Deserves so much more recognition. I attend the local college twice a week and have had all my lunches from this cafe for the past few months. Absolutely amazing ! From sandwiches to hot meals, all prepared in house and with love. They are very nutritious, filling and delicious! The quality of the food is also great. And good value for money. Their coffees are also fantastic. It’s so important to support local and family businesses, and this one here is a great example. Finally, the staff are so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Thank you all.”

“The Malt Shovel The Malt Shovel is a real gem right on the canal, where you can sit back and watch the boats drift by. It has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that makes you feel at home the moment you arrive. The food is consistently lovely, and the outdoor seating really comes into its own on sunny days, making it a great spot for summer afternoons and evenings. It’s a place that’s clearly well-loved by the boating community, giving it a unique charm and character. Whether you’re passing through or stopping especially, it feels like somewhere you can properly unwind. If you happen to be floating past on a Sunday, do yourself a favour and moor up—their roast is absolutely amazing and well worth making time for.”

“This pub was once the place to come in Greenford. Lovely premises with enormous back garden and like a local pub is supposed to be as everybody knew everyone and newbies were welcomed and loved it. Due to later recent management, many of the locals left as it became the place NOT to be.....(we all miss you James). Like many others, I left for pastures new and found new pubs as the atmosphere was toxic at times. Popped in here a few weeks ago on a Saturday night to find this lovely pub almost empty which shocked and saddened me. The pub and the people here now are like it was way back then, friendly and welcoming however...... I know from talking to the people I know that the prices are a BIG problem..... For my particular tipple (Guinness) I can pay far,far less for a pint. This isn't central London, this is Greenford. Rumours about the owners wanting it to die and sell the land are a common theme. Marston, this place is a moneypot with some decent support. Stop the silly "offers" bull , lower your prices and bring this place up!”
