“Really lovely food - we had the chicken + chorizo wrap, pulled pork burger, and tuna jacket potato. Portion sizes are good, all dishes came with a plentiful and varied mixed salad. Staff were great - realising we were ordering for children, they double-checked a couple of things (e.g. hot sauce on the wrap). Whilst quite quiet at 11:30, by 12:15 the cafe was full of families and all staff working hard to bring food out within 5-10 mins of ordering. They have a selection of books for children too. Edited to add: another 5 ⭐ visit today - delicious, freshly cooked food, really lovely and friendly service, and great value. The homemade moussaka was gorgeous, with a big and varied side salad, and only £13. Excellent value.”

“So happy we found this gem of a pub while out walking and decided to stop for a Sunday roast and we wasn’t disappointed. I had the lamb with potatoes, veg and pigs in blankets and it was a very generous portion, I was really pleased to see you get free extra gravy! My partner had the pork and was very impressed, especially with the crackling. We left full and happy and Nikki the manger made our visit by being so friendly and welcoming, we will definitely be back!”

“A very pleasant experience. Lovely grounds to explore. Staff were courteous and helpful. The room was clean and tidy, with a comfy bed. We used the swimming pool and this facility was great addition. I didn't use the gym but gym equipment looked modern and well maintained. In the evening, we had a cocktail each which we enjoyed immensely. The evening meal was wonderful and a special mention to both Anthony and James. That was the best burger I have experienced in a very long time. Sublime. The breakfast was excellent with everyone catered for. Highly recommended stay.”

I can never quite figure out why the place is not more popular as it’s a very good mean at a good price considering the town and the food offer available here.
