“A lovely park not too far from beckenham High Street. We went to see the restored bandstand (Bowies bandstand!). It is an incredible restoration job, and it is so nice to see the paving around includes bricks in memory of someone or just for loved ones. This park is also the place where the first airmail service started - 1902 I think! As others say, it would be good to have better toilet facilities, and a coffee kiosk would be good.”

“This place is AMAZING. Im staying there at the minute and it was my birthday, my mum mentioned to staff briefly. And unofficially they delivered birthday balloons and a birthday card to my room. The hotel has such an amazing vibe to it for such a cheap price. Theres so many stores nearby, me and my friend went to an asian convenience store nearby! You NEED to come here!”

Ram, our host, made the experience extra special — he surprised us with a bottle of prosecco and chocolates as we were there for a special occasion, which was such a lovely touch. “This hotel is modern, clean and central. I am a croydon girl who returned for a family party. Croydo seemed pretty chilled. The rooms were well equipes. The staff at the hotel were welcomming and accommodating and most of all friendly and helpful. I will definitely be staying again.”

“A nice hotel with the carpark at the front, there's no lift only stairs, the rooms are large and there are no bath tubs. There is an interconnecting door from Travelodge to Toby Carvey, it's located between the hotel reception and the stair case, it's easy not to notice it, I only noticed it when I was in Toby Carvey and went to the Gents toilets which is actually in Travelodge side.”

“Amazing store, super professional and immaculately clean and well presented.....a joy to walk around. The staff especially Hanifah were not pushy, she allowed us time to browse and was very attentive and friendly when needed. Luckily our chosen sofa was in stock and within two weeks it was delivered and set up in our house by a very professional and punctual delivery company (Humber services Ltd). We would certainly come here again and have already recommended to friends and family due to the 5* service we received.”

We were let down by the original entertainer we had booked for my daughter’s 5th birthday on the morning of the party - Gordon was recommended to us and a couple of hours later was at our house and put on a fabulous show. “We ordered Uber eats today from this place for the first time, and we were really impressed with the food quality and the size of the proportions. Together with the 2 English breakfasts we ordered 2 bacon baguettes, and because they didn't have baguettes bread, they sent it over 2 bacon buns for each one of us, which was very thoughtful and kind of them. “We found this hidden gem by accident, were passing by, mistook it for a small local shop, and popped in for a bottle of milk. Half an hour after wandering around this amazing tardis of a shop, in complete awe of the size of the shop and selection of produce, we came out with three bottles of wine and almost a week's worth of shopping! I am a retired convenience store owner myself and, after 40 years in the sector, can safely say, this is the best convenience store you will likely find anywhere in the UK. Plus the staff were all extremely friendly! Well done to the owner of this shop and all their staff, this is a masterclass on how a convenience shop should be run.”

“Selsdon Nature Reserve is a wonderful place to walk the dogs. There many loads of different tracks around the woods and fields, easy to get lost but just keep walking and you will eventually find your way back to the car. There are various entry points, I prefer using the car park which can get full but you can then park on the road. Mostly dry over the summer months, winter it can get very muddy, all part of the fun they tell me…..”

“I must say, Magnum offers the best prices around! Their selection is incredibly convenient, and the staff is truly lovely. The opening and closing times in Croydon are perfect, especially with the early opening at 8am. The people working there are friendly and helpful, making every visit a pleasant experience. Additionally, their partnership with Deliveroo and their availability for Amazon returns is a fantastic bonus. Overall, I highly recommend Magnum for their excellent service and convenience.”

“This gem of a park, located a few blocks south of East Croydon Station, is situated on a beautifully landscaped grassy hillside that slopes gradually upwards as one walks through the park away from the station. The roughly rectangular open space that comprises the park is punctuated by mainly old-growth trees that line the paved walkways and are interspersed among the adjacent lawns. There are plenty of robust park benches along the main paths, inside the Walled Garden and adjacent to the park's southern perimeter, where there are decent views of Croydon's skyline, such as it is. Facilities within the park include swings, tennis courts, and basketball courts. No cafes are currently open onsite. Towards the summit of the slope stands a landmark, the Old Water Tower, which is not open to visitors. An adjacent path leads to a residential area through which one can easily walk downhill to Lloyd Park via mostly quiet side streets and several off road pedestrian paths.”

“We had previously used Price Kitchens (15 years ago) and were really happy with the service and quality of the product. When the time came for a new kitchen we shopped around but Price Kitchens continued to be the obvious choice. The price was competitive and the design, supply and installation service offered fitted our needs better than the service that other companies were offering. I had worried that the business had changed ownership but reading the other reviews and chatting it through with Dan put my mind at rest. Had I not read about the change of ownership in a review I would not ever have known. The service this year was just as wonderful as fifteen years ago. Dan was incredibly patient with us requesting little adjustments on so many occasions and the layout of our new kitchen fully reflects how we wanted to use the new space. I had a good idea about how I wanted the kitchen to look but the little details that Dan suggested like curved end panels and the upper glass cabinets have made such a difference. Dan worked incredibly hard to find a wine cooler that met our very specific wish list and it fits the design perfectly. I felt that he was always on top of every detail. Reece and Dorian made the installation process pain free. They spotted little areas where some minor tweaks could be made and worked with Dan to get extra panels to improve the boxing around our existing fridge. The ordering, delivery and installation process was seamless. The updates from Jackie on timings were fantastic. Inevitably there are always going to be little snagging points. Jackie was brilliant at dealing with a quirky tap issue and sourcing the part to fix the problem. We love our new kitchen and would not hesitate to recommend Price Kitchens or use them again.”
