“I always make an effort to visit here, it’s my favourite pub and well worth the 45 minute train journey! Nice staff and they always have decent beers on tap which are always changing and have a lot of bottles to choose from as well. There are board games and snacks too for those who fancy that.”

“We lost our lovely family dog this month and Valley Vetcare honestly made the whole thing much more bearable. I was present when my dad had a call from the vet and she was so kind and sympathetic. They sent us a card of condolences which was just so lovely. We got his collar and ashes back in a timely manner and they also gave us some paw prints and little vials of his fur. I am welling up as I write this. Thank you for making a really hard time just that bit easier for our family!”

“Dining at Brasserie Blanc was undoubtedly the highlight of our stay at the Delta Hotel. From the moment we stepped inside, the beautifully designed interior transported us to a different world. The space is bathed in natural light, creating an atmosphere that’s both elegant and uplifting. Despite not having a reservation, the staff welcomed us with warmth and generosity, even seating us in what must be the best spot in the house. The customer service was nothing short of exceptional—genuine, attentive, and effortlessly accommodating. The food was absolutely divine. We started with the Dressed Devon Crab and the Pan-Fried Sea Bream, both bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors and perfectly presented. Paired with a bottle of their delicious white wine, it was a meal to remember. So memorable, in fact, that we ended up enjoying a second bottle as we lingered over dessert. Speaking of dessert—what a treat! The Wye Valley Rhubarb Crumble was the perfect balance of tart and sweet, while the Pistachio Soufflé was light, airy, and full of flavor. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience. Brasserie Blanc is not just a restaurant—it’s an experience we’ll fondly remember and gladly recommend. Can’t wait to return!”

“Our local and we’ve been eating here on a regular basis since the restaurant opened. Everything about Ego’s is excellent. The welcoming atmosphere, delicious food (particularly the kebabs!), attention to detail, friendly staff (Tracy our waitress is so lovely). We had garlic mushrooms / small gambas, chicken kebabs and pistachio pavlova. The only comment (apart from delicious of the first two courses) is that the pavlova lacked flavour. The ice cream tasted more of vanilla than cherry, there was an abundance of cream but just one or two cherries on top. We tried it because it was new but because the other tried and tested desserts are so yummy we’ll be reverting back to them in future. Only a small point though!”

“A classic CAMRA Heritage pub. I first visited in the autumn of 1974 so almost a 50 year anniversary visit. Albrecht came with us and loved the tiled interior. I had two pints of Joe Holts bitter. Loved it. They also had a guest beer, White Rat by Ossett brewery. This is a great community pub with 3 rooms around the bar. Join the discussion...is it egg & chips or is it chips and egg? Albrecht wants a return visit asap.”

It was well worth the extended trip. Excellent value. Food and drink are prepped and in place by your seats upon arrival. Seats are super comfy and screen was a very good size. “Took our 14 weeks old puppy to find a suitable harness because he pulls too much on the lead. Was looked after by Nicola who seemed to have an encyclopaedic knowledge on the subject. Plus she had the skill to handle our boisterous puppy. We walked away with a suitable harness - happy dog owners and a relaxed puppy. The shop also holds a free puppy get together every Saturday which is great fun. The shop has been a great discovery. :)”
