βI was amazed! Couldn't believe this was an NHS outbuilding. Went here for leg surgical procedure. First impressions, whilst limited parking there was a good drop off/ pickup area. On entry greeted by pleasant receptionist and patient waiting area with comfy seats and sift carols coming from a Christmas scene layout. Wasn't kept long before being escorted into a changing area with explanation of events before going into another patient area. Again not long before being escorted into the theatre area where the procedure was explained with ample opportunity for questions. Afterwards I went into a post procedure area for recovery, refreshment and dressing. At all times I was made at ease, treated like a guest. Every single staff I came into contact with was pleasant and wanted to help. The place was spotless, yes clinical, but warming and inviting to put the patients at ease. Can't speak to highly of the surgical day care centre. WELL DONE ALL CONCERNED. You are invaluable to our well-being!β
βAn amazing NHS health care trust with wonderful staff and facilities.β
βemergency care, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. the service is professional. now, in covid19 times, you have to go through the container in which you wash your hands.β

βAfter my nephew who is disabled and has severe learning difficulties was admitted to lings bar it was a worrying time for the family . There was absolutely no need what an amazing place each and every staff member went out of there way to make sure Jordan who was admitted with severe dermatology issues was looked after like he was family of their own . We canβt thank you all enough and I know Jordan is going to miss you all. Me personally would like to say a massive thank you to Donna and Claire they went above and beyond and to see you both cuddle him and be like mothers to him your absolutely amazing angels in disguise. βOn Sunday 27/7 I was staying with my sister in Nottingham when I was taken ill. She called the ambulance service & as I was having difficulty with my breathing I was taken to the respiratory ward at this hospital. I spent 1 night there and was then transferred to the cystic fibrosis unit as there was a spare bed there. I was there for 3 nights. In all that time I had the most amazing care from all the staff. Everybody was very helpful and very cheerful. I really could not have had a better experience at an expensive private hospital. Even the food was good! Thank you so muchβ
βMy husband had to visit emergency care yesterday(Friday 22nd.Nov),he had slashed his hand badly whilst we on holiday in caravan. We went to Emergency and altho.they were very busy,we were dealt with at reception by a very polite and efficient young lady, who found my husband's details very promptly. Within half an hour he was seen by a doctor, sorted out, stitched up and we were on our way back.We would like to send a compliment to a Doctor Ko. Thank goodness for the NHS.β
βI've been under this team for 2 years now I can honestly say they have been fantastic with me and helped me so much . Dr jolly is a fantastic doctor. My cpn Sarah has been my Rock I couldn't of asked for a better cpn or a better doctor I think they all work well together and are very caring and professional.β
βAnita the dentist downstairs is fabulous. In all the years ive been visiting dentists she is most certainly the most thorough ive ever had. My teeth always feel great after a visit to her, I always feel they've been given the best care possible. I dont think there's any dentist out there that would be better.β
βOn Tuesday 16 December I had cause to go to A&E at the QMC. I fell down the stairs at home and cracked my head open on a tiled floor in thr hallway. We arrived at 11am and on arrival the reception staff were so professional and friendly. I then was accessed by a lovely lady called Kate. So kind and attentive. I then met the most wonderful person I have ever met in my life KAREN. she checked me over and calmed me down so kind loving and genuine. She has worked for the trust for 46 years and is so professional. Committed and a beautiful big hearted lady. She attended to me right through the day until we left A&E 9 hours later. I had to have a CT scan and the young gentleman who attended to me was so caring. The consultant that checked over the scan was such a wonderful man and was concerned because they found a bruise on my brain so recommended that a nuroβ
βI honestly cannot fault Hickings Lane Medical Centre. As someone who works full time, they do their best to accommodate me when I need an appointment or advice. This includes receptionists, nurses, social prescribing staff and GPs. I know not everyone will but I find the app convenient and helpful and when I contact the practise through this I always get a response. Guys you are amazing!β
βMy daughter is in this hospital and the staff are fantastic she was transferred from a hospital in maidenhead were she was treated really badly her meds were being given wrong so she was always sleeping so missing meals and the restraints they used were so rough she was bruised and cut since being back at hopewood hospital she is now receiving the care and attention she needs is receiving proper medicines and being looked after . I feel confident knowing that staff here are doing there best for my daughter in difficult situations they are always willing to speak with me and keep me updated overall I think they do a fantastic job.β
βToday I had my first check-up at the surgery as a new patient, the receptionist was very welcoming, the nurse who conducted the check was efficient and pleasant. I mentioned a concern about my breathing this matter was typed on the screen and after a short wait I saw a doctor who tested my lungs. It was decided an x ray was advisable and I have an app booked at the hospital tomorrow. Very impressed with the care.β
βI registered with this GP surgery in September when I started university. I was unsure about registering due to the bad reviews. The doctors and nurses have been excellent with both physical and mental health. The reception staff are always lovely. Iβve always managed to get same day appointments when calling at 8:30 and it never takes long to get through.β
βI was forced to leave this practice after my Doctor of 40 years retired and I automatically moved to different practice. The service was so bad, they would only assess one issue per appointment, and the list just goes on. I moved back to Radford Road thinking it can't be as bad as my current practice. So far it's been fantastic. Doctors have been attentive, listened to me issues, made recommendation, at no point did they fob me off. I felt cared for, supported, safe and really left assured my best interest was in hand. I will me moving my family over to this practice as a result of their outstanding service. The only bad point I would make, and I think this goes for most GP Practice is, the Receptionists don't come across very professional and appear to lack consideration and respect.β
βBy far the most helpful staff I have had the pleasure of calling first thing in the morning. Heather and the team are great on reception and are so helpfulβ
βWe have been with this practice for decades and - particularly given the horror stories we hear about access to other GPs and lack of patient care - we have always been more than satisfied with the service and care weβve received. Recently weβve had cause to call and visit the surgery more frequently. This has entailed contact with the reception, the phlebotomist and two separate doctors. Each element has shown exceptional courtesy, treatment and genuine care. Even after I was referred to the hospital and so was under their care, my GP helped speed up the appointment process by contacting the consultant outlining his concerns which resulted in a much earlier hospital appointment and a pathway to better health. My GP further contacted me on at least two occasions by phone to discuss my progress with me. So for us itβs well done Bakersfield Medical Practice. We feel very lucky to have you.β
βI have no problems with this surgery the receptionist have always been lovely and I've had no problems. I called the other day to cancel my husband's appointment and the lady on the phone said oh you don't sound well at all yourself would you like me to see if I can get you in to see a doctor I was in that afternoon. Thank you so much.β
