“My visit to Duchy Hospital and the endocrinology consultation went very smoothly. The doctor dedicated a lot of time to me and provided all the information I needed regarding my thyroid nodule. He clearly explained both the positive and potential negative outcomes in case the nodule turned out to be malignant. Although my appointment was delayed by 30 minutes, I completely understand—this was likely because the doctor takes time with each patient to make sure they feel informed and reassured, just as I did. The doctor recommended a biopsy, which was scheduled less than a month after the consultation. Thanks to his care and attention, I am now under regular follow-up at the hospital and feel confident in the care I'm receiving.”

The Doctors are incredibly helpful and efficient and the reception staff are absolutely fine to deal with. I'm not sure what the issue is regarding reception staff. I'm very pleased to be a patient at this venue I feel very looked after and that my best interests are their interests too.”

Even phoned Derriford ortho to have my elbow x-ray reviewed by them too. Dressed my other wounds and I was on my way home within 3 hours. “An incredible amount of excellent care has been received by me from the staff at this hospital. Thank you Derriford NHS staff. I probably wouldn't still be here without you. Cleanliness: The hospital and loos are always clean and tidy. Take note of and wash your hands. Alcohol gel doesn't kill all viruses. Signposting: The wards and departments well signposted but it can be a bit overwhelming if you are visiting for the first time. Take time to understand the signposting, this is a large hospital with 6 floors. Lifts: The main entrance lifts are just past the small gift shop on the right. Patients and staff are transported in these lifts so you may need to wait longer than you'd want so if you're cutting it fineand can, find the stairs. Parking: There is plenty of parking and a number of car parks to choose from,.including a disabled car park. This one often has queues so plan extra time if you need disabled parking. You can drop off outside but it can get busy. Park & Ride: There is a park and ride not far away, buses drop you off outside the main entrance at the bus stops. Food: Outside there is an M&S Food store with lots of tasty things to eat and drink. There is also a good sized cafe just inside the main entrance.”
