“This is a great store staff are very helpful and they stock a huge array of items from nails to patio furniture, washing lines to varnish and everything in between. There's free parking, and staff will carry heavy items to your car or they offer a delivery service. They don't quibble if you buy something and it wrong. The store is huge, well laid out bright and welcoming.”
“Had everything I needed at a good price. Nice local store. Parking can be an issue, if you're look for a quick purchase.”
“Friendly staff always welcoming and ready to help. Great there’s a Post Office there too.”
“The best place by far if you're in Portsmouth and after a kitchen. Any reputable kitchen fitter will have a Howdens account. In terms of quality, Howdens arrive pre assembled and really well packaged. Solid backs on the base units, Blum hinges and internals are exceptional quality. A huge range of styles to fit most budgets Plus they do decent flooring, some excellent value doors, skirting, architrave etc .best of all is the service. They're great everywhere but exceptional in Portsmouth. If you're after a kitchen you'd be mad to not give them a look”
“Pretty much got most of what you'd need but if not they can soon enough organise it for ya for sure, good bunch of peeps, quick as u like too xx,,,price's not too shabby either”
“My microwave door wouldn’t stay closed. Contacted repair company who told me that there was nothing they could do as parts were obsolete. Not being in the position to measure the gap or indeed remove the old one (part of an integrated unit installed by kitchen-fitters about 20years ago) I sought advice from Home Hardware in Portchester. Dhilen came to my home to measure up. He ordered a new microwave for me, and found and arranged for a qualified electrician to come to do the complicated installation for me. (Warning to those getting new kitchens installed: Make sure that your integrated microwave has its own independent power source, and that it is not wired in with the oven unit.) This was service way beyond anything I would expect. Thank you Dhilen. Your shop is a real asset to our Portchester community.”
“Rose Green Hardwear is a local privately owned traditional, well stocked, hardware store and is very competitively priced. Well worth a visit.”
“Friendly and respectful and helpful that’s all we need. ✅”
“Really great staff. Even with a trade discount it's not the cheapest but ample parking, never a shortage of trolleys, and really great staff like Mary get them five stars all day long”
“An Aladdin's cave of bits of all sorts, 2nd hand and new: whatever you need, just ring the knowledgeable staff. E.g. box of individual ratchet-socket spanners, Imperial and metric, just 50p ea. and tons more.”
“Popped into Toolstation – quick service, had everything I needed, no hassle. Great place.”
“Great shop, well-stocked and if they have't got it they will get it quickly. The owner Liz is extremely helpful.”
“Staff so helpful! The shop well stocked. It's a real find in this day and age.”
“Good shop! A lot cheeper than next door! And same standard of pvc.”
“The tool hire department staff was so helpful!”
“Tony was amazing! He sorted out a new lock, and I would highly recommend going here as your first stop ….”
“Usually has products that I require in stock, if not I can have them delivered to the store next day. (Delivery charge apply for sales of less than £25, if you have them delivered to store for pick up - no charge)”
“The jewel on the island, great for all your hardware needs, knowledgable staff. Perfect at reasonable prices”
“Funky traditional hardware shop with helpful staff. On this occasion, they didn't have what I was looking for, but then neither did Toolstation, Screwfix or B&Q. Recommended if you're local.”
“I popped into the shop this morning to see if I could source two specific screws and appropriate nuts for urgent repairs for my wheelchair. The staff at the desk went out of their way to find what I needed and even fitted them for me, despite the fact that my purchases amounted to mere pennies. Thank you guys!”
“Great service, similar pricing to mainstream stuff. Knowledge and advice”
“I'm a regular user of this store and the staff here are incredibly helpful and friendly. You never have to wait long and if ever there's a query with a product it's always quickly resolved. And when you make a big online order it turns up the next day. Great value and choice too.”
“Went in here trying to find a bulb for my wifes wax burner which was highly unusual the staff here could not do enough, we spent a good 15 to 20 minutes trying to find the correct bulb honestly so pleased with their help and service today and I felt a bit like a plonker for not keeping hold of the old bulb to my wife's wax melt. I recommend these and will definitely come again overall very pleased.”
“Just made a visit to Hursts in Cowes. The lady serving and helping with my enquiries could not have been more pleasant, attentive and helpful.. A great credit to this valuable retail asset to the Isle of Wight. Peter Bentley”
“Staff very helpful to sort out my requirements for a part. Thanks”
“Always a good service. Today I had to return a heater which I bought in error. Super quick, no hassle at all.”
“Long story short- Went in with a query about some door handles which were now updated to a slightly different design by the manufacturer, the very kind lady on the till (who I think was called Ellie but don't hold me to it!?) was very helpful in directly ringing the Havant store to see if they had any of the older stock. There was and she reserved them for me. Very grateful for this as she could have simply just palmed me off. Really need more kind people like her. Give her a pay rise!”
“Jim was super at supporting me to design my bespoke wheelchair accessible kitchen and really helped me to think about every detail. He gave me lots of time and demonstrations, it was clear he knew all his products very well - the team even made a good cuppa tea! My only issue was the step at the front door which made it impossible for me to access the shop without help and I really do prefer to be independent.”
“Just a great set up and nice friendly staff.”
“Always fantastic service and fantastic prices. As a tradesman I need to be able to get hold of things quickly and at a reasonable price, and Screwfix delivers on both. I also love that I can click and collect, making it even easier and quicker to get what I need.”
