“This is a great store staff are very helpful and they stock a huge array of items from nails to patio furniture, washing lines to varnish and everything in between. There's free parking, and staff will carry heavy items to your car or they offer a delivery service. They don't quibble if you buy something and it wrong. The store is huge, well laid out bright and welcoming.”

In terms of quality, Howdens arrive pre assembled and really well packaged. Solid backs on the base units, Blum hinges and internals are exceptional quality. A huge range of styles to fit most budgets Plus they do decent flooring, some excellent value doors, skirting, architrave etc .best of all is the service. They're great everywhere but exceptional in Portsmouth. If you're after a kitchen you'd be mad to not give them a look”

“My microwave door wouldn’t stay closed. Contacted repair company who told me that there was nothing they could do as parts were obsolete. Not being in the position to measure the gap or indeed remove the old one (part of an integrated unit installed by kitchen-fitters about 20years ago) I sought advice from Home Hardware in Portchester. Dhilen came to my home to measure up. He ordered a new microwave for me, and found and arranged for a qualified electrician to come to do the complicated installation for me. (Warning to those getting new kitchens installed: Make sure that your integrated microwave has its own independent power source, and that it is not wired in with the oven unit.) This was service way beyond anything I would expect. Thank you Dhilen. Your shop is a real asset to our Portchester community.”
