“The hotel was absolutely lovely. As a wheelchair user, I get anxious about going to new places but this hotel is 100% disabled friendly. Although I didn't have a disabled room, the room I had was very spacious and I was still able to use my wheelchair in it easily. It was very clean, the food was delicious (although slightly expensive), and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would 100% recommend this place for a lovely little retreat, the spa facilities were really nice and also wheelchair friendly!”

“My wife had an operation scheduled at Basingstoke Hospital on 15th Jan - was a major op re cancer diagnosis and went on for 5 hours. We stayed at the hospital for 2 weeks in total. While she was in surgery, i went for a walk in the countryside to take my mind off events - after an hour or so of walking, i ended up at the Swan (i had looked it up before starting walk!). I was warmly welcomed by the staff there, who were really helpful as well as accommodating ( they helped me with where to find a local village shop and post office) While there, i noticed a promotion on the website regarding AllTrails where you used their app for a local walk and ended up at the pub for a free breakfast. So, on the Friday morning, i completed another long walk, helped by All trails, and arrived at the Swan for 9am. I had a lovely breakfast, eggs Benedict, presented beautifully and really tasty - and although tempting, resisted having a pint with it… 9am just too early! I came back the following week for a sandwich at lunchtime - again, lovely food, well presented and tasty! Thank you to the Swan - i would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting a warm welcome, great food and a well deserved drink - whether you’ve had a long walk in the country or just driven there. Will definitely be back.”

“We usually enjoy a variety of pizza, dough balls n cocktails in Pizza Express. We always tried dine-In, but yesterday we ordered pizza n the quality was same as in resto. It was loaded with cheese n toppings, freshly made n very tasty. It's worth paying money as quality n quantity is awesome.”

“Previously did a review on this but I need to update this ASAP, to my knowledge this has changed hands and the quality has gone through the roof, The Satay chicken might just be one of the best that i’ve had. They do a Salt and Pepper 9” box for £13 which has: ribs, wings, chicken strips, chips, spring rolls and curry sauce and between two people it’s a great addition. The rice is great also. Pick up time is reasonable in peak hours, could do the collection within 20 minutes.”

“Visited the Spruce Goose in Basingstoke and had a brilliant experience from start to finish. Mum enjoyed the sea bass, which was beautifully cooked, and I had the mixed grill — generous portions and full of flavour. Our waiter, Adam, was outstanding. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely made the meal even more enjoyable. A great place for a relaxed meal with excellent service. Highly recommend!”

“Best pizza in the town. I always order online and go to collect. Their service is on time. The online app/ email shows the process of the pizza making. It’s so easy to know when to go there and collect the pizza. Staff is friendly and efficient. Any bad day be fixed with a pizza from them. Only problem is that there’s no dine in space. Apart from that it’s the best! Also parking available.”
