“Together with my wife we visited the café earlier today. We called ahead regarding dog friendly seating and helpful staff assured us there was outdoor dog friendly seats. We sat in the morning sun and enjoyed a fantastic full English breakfast and drinks. Great quality and value. Fantastic customer service. This will be somewhere we visit each time we pass through Sheffield for work from now on. Very excited to try one of the vast array of delicious looking cakes next time!”

“We contacted Clare at Cafe77 to enquire availability for our event taking place at The Postmill, South Normanton on a Sunday, even though they are usually closed they kindly offered to open and deliver our buffet to us, the buffet was fab! Everybody enjoyed it! Clare was able to cater for 3 x vegetarians and 2 x vegans on separate platters which worked well, thank you again Clare!”

“This café is right up there for lots of reasons and if you haven't been, do it now! I thought I had been to the entire variety of cafés that Sheffield has to offer, but you could have knocked me down with a feather when I walked in. Jazz funk music playing, Dahl Of The Day on the menu and a range of herbal teas to out-do Holland & Barrett. The place has a wood-burner, punching out a warm welcome and the quirkiest of seating, with memorabilia in every corner. We sampled the coffee, lemon and ginger tea, homemade cake... one guten-free and we loved it... We'll be back!”

“After leaving my wallet at home this morning I managed to scrape some change together for a bottle of water out of the car. Nipped into this lovely coffee shop. Mentioned this to this friendly guy while we was talking and he offered me some food and said pay me back tomorrow. I kindly refused as I did bring some lunch with me . Just wanted to say, What a lovely guy. Nice to see there is still some good people left on this planet. God bless.”

“What a lovely find. Been to Penistone today for the first time in years and happened upon this café. Really enjoyed the sandwich & coffee there and brownie I had as takeaway. The staff were very welcoming and helped my elderly father to find the toilet outside somewhere around the back.”

“Well the 5 star award had to come out, first time in 2025. The scones are fantastic. I had the fruit Scone with butter, and the pot of tea was a good strong brew. They topped up the pot with more hot water, excellent customer service. BIG THANK YOU to George who baked freshly on the premises that morning my fruit Scone. We will be back, Sidney enjoyed his doggee biscuit and bowl of water. Yes dogs welcome.”

“Wonderful find. Jo and her team made this small but perfectly lovely cafe a really special visit. Everything was delicious, the toasties were somehow so much better than the usual cafe fare, I think it was the high quality bread and ingredients. The puddings and custard were also excellent, we had the Bakewell pudding and the rhubarb and apple tart, both with (just howI like it, not too runny) custard. Excellent. Finally thanks Jo, you couldn't have made us feel more welcome! Best cafe I've been to for a long time, you can see why it won best Derbyshire cafe this year!”

“The quality of food, service, atmosphere and setting blew us away. Intrigued by the fulsome reviews, and being close to where we were staying, it proved to be a beautiful discovery. The whole enterprise delivers on many levels. It's a learning base with a big heart, a shop for products made in-house, and a relaxed eating area tucked away behind a residential development but overlooking an open field in a rural setting. And the breakfast, it has to be said, was a class act, just like the place itself.”

“We have spent a fair bit of time in the Dore Cafe over the last couple of years while visiting an elderly relative and bringing him out for lunch to sit outside. The staff have been great about trying to make food accessible to eat with a disability and the food is always delicious and lots of portion for your money. Recently we have been a couple of times on our own and had the English breakfast. Genuinely excellent, fantastic hash browns, big doorstops of bakery bread toast, nothing greasy, really very good indeed and fantastic pricing. Can highly recommend! My son says the chicken burger sandwiches (bit like a Zinger) are great too and the baguettes are fab.”

“Absolutely fantastic little cafe providing proper quality food rather than your regular cheap produce. Proper butcher quality food supplied for their own butchers, best black pudding I've ever had and the sausages were absolutely delicious. What a lovely little sit in cafe. Shame I didn't get any pictures and also I forgot to ask what their butchers is called to pop in and buy some meat”

“Brilliant service, got greeted as soon as we walked in. Didn't get force sold anything, had a nice chat and laugh with staff. Food was served quickly, you can see it all being cooked in front of you. Seating is limited to only 4 tables but we found space easily! Would recommend and will be going back!”

“Recently came and visited with my daughter where we sat in the Lakeside calf and had a breakfast together. I'd have to say ordering the food was very, very slow and could have been quicker, but overall the staff are really friendly. The food was really nice and the atmosphere was fantastic. We sat outside where we could see other anglers fishing. It was a beautiful sunny day and it was just really really nice. I highly do recommend if you're not fishing even if you pop down there to have a breakfast or some food”

“Oh my goodness. We popped in for a light lunch after visiting Clumber Park, and were totally blown away by the meal. We had the vegan burger and the vegan Chocolate brownie with ice cream. They were both totally amazing. The food was so good we're re-arranging our holiday plans for tomorrow to go back again! I'd give it 6 stars if I could.”
