“To say it’s a small pub, they offer a wide range of beers & ciders and at a really good price! Probably the best priced in the area(Whittington moor) I can imagine this place having a really good atmosphere on a match day but unfortunately not the same at 1pm on a Friday. “Day or night, Edi's is fantastic, great food, atmosphere the owner is very friendly. Often comes over for a chat and always makes us feel welcome. I can't recommend this place enough. I really hope this business does well as they have put a lot of money and energy into the business.”

“EDIT: Went back with cash and the service and banter was top notch. Food decent too. Would recommend Heard great things about this place so drove up for big Friday tea for the family only to walk in and see 'Cash Only' sign. Chippy tea not cheap these days so didn't have enough in pocket to pay as, like most people, don't tend to carry cash these days. Will probably come back another time to try the food and leave another review then”

“I've been coming here for a while now with my mother the food is always good I either get a panini or a burger but always with some coleslaw on the side. Which is homemade the waitresses are always polite and friendly and laugh at my lame jokes. This cafe also opens really early in the mornings and you can order lunch if you don't want breakfast the cook knows what he's doing it takes a good meal to make a 260 pound man happy I will continue to come here for some decent and stomach filling food.”

“Had a couple of very good Sunday meals here. Nice pub with a separate dining room. Excellent food and you do get a lot. Also veggie friendly - if you mention that when you book the chef will do a special meal, which my wife said was very tasty.”

“I took a Toddler Group trip here today and we were so well cared for. The staff were lovely and very tolerant of our noise and chaos! It was raining, which we hadn't expected, so we were indoors for quite a long time and there was no sense of needing to move on or be quiet. Thank you.”

“This was a very pleasant and cozy place to eat well cooked and delicious food. The new management makes the Neptune's fish and chips a place you can eat daily. I was tried cod and chips and cheese and haddock. Excellent pukka pies. If you prefer you can eat gluten free cod roe or chips. There is a meat free menu also. George is very polite and friendly as all the other staff, too. Prices are very good. The place is one of the most cleaned ones i ever saw. Highly recommended”

They also have good vegan options, which I really appreciate, especially for such a small town café :) The flapjack was good — not too sugar-y like many flapjacks are. “Found this lovely place by accident when visiting Conisbrough Castle we had a delicious breakfast, cake and drinks. The service was great and they were kind enough to bring a bowl of water for our dog. Very happy find.”

“One of the remaining cash only, fixed menu takeaways left, but giving you that authentic Chinese takeaway nummyness- crisp chicken balls, non claggy boiled rice and sweet and sour sauce that's not too sickly. No delivery, but you can tell the owners focus on quality of orders rather than quantity and it's why we keep going back.”

“We owned an award winning fish & chip shop for over 20years and now enjoy being on the other side of the counter. These were the best fish & chips we’ve eaten since we retired two and a half years ago. Very pleasant staff ( Sam & Jason), fish was cooked in a light crisp golden batter and was delicious. “Likely the best cakes I've eaten in any café (a truly scrumptious pistachio and lime today), delicious, good quality, loose leaf tea. and interesting well made bespoke furniture too. All served by the cheerful and helpful owner! Recommended without hesitation. No wonder I keep coming back!”

“Excellent and highly recommended! We had the set meal for 2 which is 2 platters and a desert! The food was excellent as were the cocktails followed by prosecco. There was a DJ and 2 singers playing /singing live in the outdoors bit (which is covered). Very enjoyable advise you visit and try!”

“Recently stayed for two nights, whilst trading at an event at the Lincoln showground. A small, but very comfortable and clean room, with everything needed, including good wifi. Very friendly hosts, who did earlier than normal breakfasts for us, as we needed an early start. Breakfast was lovely, good choice, plentiful and cooked perfectly. Highly recommended.”
