Pub in Doncaster

“Last night we went to the Sun Inn, at Everton near Bawtry - another ‘new’ venue for us, and only half an hours drive away. This pretty gastro-pub comes well recommended by our local area groups, and we were most impressed! Our menu choices were soft shelled crab, and Scotch egg to start. Main courses were whole plaice, sea trout, lamb burger and Caesar salad. We couldn’t resist trying the desserts and we picked cherry Bakewell Eaton mess, and cookie dough brownie! The Sun has some great menu choices, there were lots of dishes we would like to try, so a repeat visit is certainly on the cards very soon! And it’s a very sociable venue - we were soon chatting to the ladies on the table next to us!”

“Love this restaurant mainly because of the lovely people who work there. They are always so helpful and friendly. The decor of the place is wonderful, the food is very good and a reasonable price. I've visited several times, and it's definitely my favourite place to eat in Epworth now. Something to note. I take my elderly mum there for a meal and she can't climb stairs and the restaurant and toilets are upstairs! However, the staff are happy for us to eat in the bar downstairs, and the service is prompt, so this has not been an issue.”

“Trip out to see my best mate's sister n partner with his grandson who has cerebral palsy. Pub is wheelchair friendly n dog friendly. Very comfortable n extremely polite n friendly bar staff. And they had a right selection of draught beers. My mate n I had a couple of pints of draught mango cider - outstanding. All in all a most enjoyable afternoon”

“A spontaneous Sunday lunch by the fire is a godsend in these cold times, portions were perfect and I can honestly say they make the best gravy I have ever tried. Brilliant selection of beer and a fire! What more could you want.”

“Visited the Tut n Shive, yesterday. A busy Saturday night, from walking in even though the staff were busy I was acknowledged immediately and told be one minute. “We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. We were given a lovely selection of fresh tasty meze and warm fresh pide bread to start. I had the Adana Kebab which tasted authentic and was absolutely delicous. Finished off with a beautiful turkish coffee. “From the moment we walked in, we were greeted like family. The service at this Italian gem was truly exceptional — warm, attentive, and perfectly timed without ever feeling rushed. Every staff member seemed genuinely passionate about making our experience special. Now the food… wow. The pasta was clearly homemade — perfectly al dente and bursting with flavor. I had the truffle mushroom ravioli, and it was hands-down one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. The marinara sauce tasted like it came straight from a Nonna’s kitchen, and the tiramisu? Divine. We also appreciated the thoughtful wine recommendations, which paired beautifully with our meal. From start to finish, everything felt authentic, elevated, and full of heart. This is more than just a restaurant — it’s an experience. Can’t wait to come back”

“Our wedding reception was held here and afterwards we stayed in one of there fabulous rooms. Larrisa and all of her lovely staff were absolutely wonderful. Polite helpful and very patient with all of our guests. Larrisa was our wedding organiser, and what a fantastic job she did. The function room looked beautiful, just as I had asked it to be and nothing was too much trouble. We had a carvery for our wedding meal and it was agreed by all of my guests, that the food was delicious. So would I recommend this venue……..YOU BET. Thank you to all involved with our day, but especially LARRISA. You are a star!”

“Went as a group of 6 on a busy Friday evening (11th Oct) and had a great reception from the get go. Fantastic food and service all night. I had the scotch egg and the duo of beef… both absolutely brilliant from taste to presentation. We were very comfortable, the decor was modern and well done whilst keeping a country gastro pub feel. 10/10 all round”

“I visited Tuesday evening and had a bbq chicken pizza and cookie&brownie desert. Both were full of flavour and were prepared with love, care and passion. The pizzas been made on site with fresh dough it was simply amazing thr best pizza I've had anywhere. I was visiting as part of an organised prepaid meal through my work but would have happily paid for this myself and another visit is definitely on the cards.”
