“My favourite Sheffield record shop. The regular guy that I assume owns the shop is very knowledgeable and you get a proper record shopping experience here. They seem to get the best used stock, and they have a large new vinyl section. The owner is also willing to order in new albums specifically for you, which is increasingly rare nowadays, and their returns policy is reasonable. Would recommend!”

“Stopped in for a spur-of-the-moment afternoon tea on a day out to Chesterfield. Everything was delicious (especially the sugar-topped scones!) and we had plenty of space upstairs. It was the first afternoon tea for two of the people in our party and they both promised they would be returning for more!”

“Went in for the first time to meet extended family today. The staff were very friendly and took the time to talk with us when they could. There were plenty of vegetarian options for my great aunt to choose from. The decor is lovely. The portion sizes are good, the ingredients used were very high quality, the salad has a variety of vegetables in it, we saw staff use fresh herbs that they grow on the counter in the meals. The menus are easy to read and we were all impressed with our meals as they were very delicious. We spent just over £30 on 5 meals and 3 milkshakes.”

“Great location and ideal for a getaway. So close to Chatsworth House, so we made full use of the pub & farm shop also situated in Pilsley which boasts veggies from the estate. Breakfast was fantastic - filled out a form the night before with exactly what you liked. I had fresh fruit, which was all fresh! And my partner opted for the full fry up, and cleared the plate every time. Well-adjusted to the COVID-19 safety precautions as well, plenty of sanitiser available and everything was organized so there was minimal contact with other guests.”

“This was a recommendation from a friend and it was worth the hour and a half drive! The story I was told was that the chef was a Michelin star chef working in London, who was sick of the rat race and relocated to Matlock in Derbyshire. My partner and I opted for the 7 course taster menu and what a sensation that was. EVERY dish was an explosion in the mouth of complimentary flavours and textures. With the appetisers, the sour dough bread and the mous bouches , it turned out to be almost 10 courses. Just look at the photos! Unbelievable! The location is beautiful too. The outside terrace overlooks the river and the sounds of the water creates at truly romantic setting. The staff were excellent too and I’m surprised that Stones doesn’t already have a Michelin star! Out of this world and I would recommend everyone that likes food to try it! @ £80 per person, it is an absolute bargain. For food like this you would pay double that in London!”

“EXQUISITE!! My family and I had breakfast with Santa on Saturday and what a lovely time we had. After having Santa breakfasts previously at larger establishments, Borders offered a much cozier and comfortable experience. Santa was amazing, popping in and out throughout our time there. The children loved him and it felt very personal. The staff were wonderful and very organised and to top it off the breakfast was great! Thank you so much for an excellent experience....we will be returning!”

“Went today with a firm thought in my mind of a tweed suit, colour everything all mentally stored. Bryan the owner armed with tape measure bizarrely took me straight to it and a perfect fit with jacket. 3 piece ordered. Waist and leg measured. Excellent family service. Vanessa his wife took over and we discussed my tie colour of which a perfect match sourced. We then discussed my partners dress match for the wedding I am attending. Their 2 sons working in the background. If you want quality service and suit with trousers tailored to fit that will last come here. If you are after off the shelf cheap polyester won’t last then pop to a retail store.”

“I found this place by chance as I was visiting an art exhibition there, so stopped for a pint and to sit by the canal which was rather pleasant! Friendly people, seemed to have a good following with some local regulars present. A good spot for a summer evening drink and not to far from town. Easy to park the other side of the canal. Will visit here again and would like to explore the area a bit more!”
