“First time here, and its tucked away on one of the backstreets which is quite nice actually. A group of 8 of us walked in and we were able to be seated pretty quickly. I was impressed with the food, the service was initially slow but sped up shortly after. Overall a nice meal and would go back! This restaurant allows you to charge your phone whilst at the table with a portable power bank from in house. That's quite unique and its the first restaurant i have been too which does this. Well done to Smugglers for introducing that.”

“Maciej was absolutely amazing. Not only does he serve his customers with the utmost level of professionalism, he even went a step further to make sure that we were all taken care of. He made sure i had enough water to help with my hangover...now tell me, which bartender goes that extra mile. Medbar...this amazing young man deserves a raise.”

“So I’ve been coming to this cafe with my partner for some time now, this place has such a nice atmosphere and the service is always amazing! Everyone in that place is always so helpful and nice! Me and my partner recently had a meal there and it was so good! I had the pancakes they were light and fluffy and just so delicious. My partner had the smashed avocado and poached eggs, her being a massive fan of this said the eggs were perfectly poached and the avocado tasted fresh and looked amazing. The whole thing was plated with care and very delicately! I’ve got to say I think they might have a new chef in because even tho the food was good before hand I feel like the food and how the food is presented has improved quite a bit! But all round if you’re looking for a place to chill, chat and relax with some good food I highly recommend this cafe!”

“Found this little gem - and didn't expect to find this view on my way out of Totton! Small fishing lodge cafe sitting amidst 3 lakes and beautiful views. Service staff were lovely and attentive; happy to chat but not disturbing at all. Wide variety of milkshakes to choose from, after a lovely Full English Breakfast. Will definitely come back.”

“Happy Bean Coffee Bar is such a cute and comfy spot! They make some of the best coffee I’ve had around Southampton, and it’s with vegan milk! The vibe is perfect for just hanging out or getting a bit of work done. And honestly, you can’t go wrong with avocado toast—it was so good! If you’re nearby and need a chill place to grab a great coffee, definitely swing by.”

“I looked up some fish and chip places near my hotel and Harefield came up close to the top of the Google map list. I went for a piece of chips and a portion of chicken donner. The fish was excellent, one of the best I had in a long, long time, chicken was average. Still, I would happily go back for a puce of fish if I was in the area again. 5 stars.”

“Excellent dinner and first class service. Highly recommend this restaurant. We especially enjoyed the jackfruit filo pastry parcel. The beer battered cod had a super crispy batter with homemade chips and crushed peas would definitely return to have this again. The presentation was very good. Recommend booking.”

“Great little coffee shop at the top floor of robins nest vintage emporium. You can also access the shop through the back entrance if you can't or would rather not climb stairs. The employee at the register was friendly and informed me and my husband that they had a deal on their cakes and coffee. I ordered a cappuccino and a chocolate walnut slice and my husband ordered a vegan carrot cake and oat milk latte which he was happy about as often he can't have any of the cakes. The windows in the shop are beautiful and the decor and style reminded me of photos I've seen of the Titanic. Our coffee and cakes were very nice and we will be visiting again.”

“We stayed for one night prior to our cruise and we will definitely return. We have stayed in a few Southampton hotels but this is definitely our new place to stay. Beautifully decorated rooms with all the amenities you could need for your stay. Lovely selection of tea and coffee and separate coffee machine in the room. There are a lot of stairs but if you have a high floor this is not a problem with staff to assist you with your suitcases. We had a wonderful dinner from the evening menu with delicious wine. The breakfast was amazing in the morning, you will be stuffed and set for the day. All the staff we encountered were great. Stay here you will you will love it. My husband said it was the most comfortable bed he's ever slept in.”

We had a couple of the sides which were delicious and the sharing platter, the chicken was cooked to perfection and the lamb chops were the best we've ever tasted!! “I work come here to start work and I was very nervous but when coming here I felt welcomed and the staff here were very nice and welcoming and kind and friendly and when serving customers I could see that the staff made good connections and community with the customers here at royal fish bar. The staff here are very kind and helpful to the people who come in a order and have very well spoken simple manners like: have a good day, see you late thank you, how are you, and simple things like these and they seem to grow a connection with each and every loyal customer and have conversations abt there lifes which is nice because a lot of other places don’t do this it’s a great community. I also personally beileve the prices of there food were really good as most fish and chips shops I have been in have been much more expensive for there fish and there other foods but when I saw the prices on this one I was quite surprised. Now on to the food I quite love there food here I’m not even going to lie it’s really good and when bringing it home to my parents who don’t love fish and chips they very much liked this one and my grandparents also loved there food when I bought home some food for them to. So everyone should come in and eat food from our amazing royal fish bar :).”

“It was a dreadful wet windy and fairly chilly day but we had booked a gathering of friends and I had to go out! We had a warm welcome. Very good Christmas meal quickly served which was also good value for money. No roast potatoes kept hot for ages. These, together with lovely veg were hot and fresh. They also managed to sort our 11 bills separately with no hassle. I'd definitely go again”

“Slightly biased as have been coming here since the early 80s, and although we miss the old style pub, it could have ended up much worse than it is design wise. Food quality is back on an even keel and is consistently of good quality and presentation this taking away that level of apprehension you feel when you go to so many restaurants these days. Shout out to the young ladies and men of the service team who provide a very professional level of service in a pub / restaurant which I know for a fact can suffer from some challenging customers at times...”

“We booked Sunday dinner for 10 people and ordered ahead. The service was attentive, friendly and efficient. The food was hot and delicious. Two of our party were quite late due to their young baby and staff kept their dinners back until they were ready with no drama, as soon as the couple arrived the dinners appeared and were still hot and delicious.
