“We visited after spending the afternoon with the grandchildren at the Pantomine. The meal was from the lunch menu as we were too early for the evening menue. However there was loads to choose from and portions were very big. Presentation was lovely and the service by the waitress GABBIE was five star!! Very polite and attentive. We will definitely be visiting again.”
“Nice cosy pub, it is bigger than it looks from the front entrance”
“Visited for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. The menu is diverse and the food is excellent. Service was mixed - one of the waitresses was good but the other wasn’t great (ignored us at the bar etc). But overall a good experience and we’d definitely return!”
“Really enjoyable experience coming here. There’s a staff member, possibly the manager, wearing pink trainers who always keeps things running well and with a smile on her face.”
“4 of us called in for lunch today (Aug ank Hol) Good was excellent , service friendly and definitely value for money. Topped it off with an ice cream after. Only have good things to say about this cafe.”
“There’s not many pubs left like the Nags Head, the locals don’t bite, good beer and reasonable prices. And if you’re really lucky you’ll get the chance to have the best chilli or chicken curry I’ve ever tasted for £4.50 eat in or they will even dish it into a reusable container to take away, so you can focus on the drinking. Give it a go it’s like pubs used to be and if you’ve got a 4 legged friend there’s free biscuits on the bar.”
“We had Sunday lunch today for 7 people. Everyone had a different Sunday Roast that was on offer. All were very nicely presented on hot plates. I had the pork belly that was very tender & tasty. Some of us had turkey that was very moist & plentiful. The beef was very nice & was cooked to your liking, the lamb was tender. The selection of vegetables hot & nicely cooked We also had some extras, pigs in blankets, red cabbage & cauliflower cheese all really nice. The service was very good, friendly & helpful. Was a very relaxing afternoon with friend's. Would highly recommend the Peacock for a lovely meal in nice relaxing surroundings. Will be going back for sure. Thank you for your service & a lovely time.”
“Fantastic food great service fast delivery”
“We have been here a couple of times now and find the staff extremely courteous, excellent service with the added extra of superb home made food. Very reasonable…inexpensive (not cheap!). Just keep it secret!”
“Fantastic garden centre… and it’s huge! The food market was amazing, so many treats, it’s hard to resist buying something. Nice cafe’s, but get there early as they get very busy towards lunchtime. The show gardens are amazing. £8 entry fee, but this is very reasonable considering the size and the upkeep of them all. I’ll definitely go back later in the year as we’d just missed a lot of the springtime flowers.”
“I was working the antiques market Saturday and popped in for a drink and loo break. The ladies behind the bar were so lovely! And worked like clockwork. The barista who served me was such a lovely girl and I enjoyed chatting about vintage clothing and charity shopping with her. Well done ladies your amazing and smashing it on a busy day!”
“7th March 2025. We ended up here. The bar man was very friendly and extremely helpful, as we were looking for a place to eat. He recommended several places. Atmosphere was lively, busy pub, drinks reasonable price. We had a few in here, whilst we waited for the restaurant to open across the way. Would visit again.”
“Lovely staff, fantastic selection of beers and fair price for this day and age”
“Really unique concept of dining, menu is street food style that leaves you spoilt for choice. Fresh made burgers that to say the least are filling and absolutely delicious, there's also burritos and noodles and a huge choice of other bites for every taste and appetite. Everything on the menu is freshly prepared with great attention to detail of the ingredients. Good choice of cocktails served in a variety of quirky ways but only one draft lager but it was quite refreshing. Great repurposed furniture and decor with an outdoor seating area to the rear. Great place for groups great food, great atmosphere and really nice staff.”
“No food but still 5 star rated it. I’m an away fan. And sometimes it’s hard when away. Nathan the door man was suoerb come in with colours if you want but also beer prices are reasonable and he really helped us out after talking to him. Most reasonable doorman in the uk and Dean on the door was flipping epic x”
“A good selection of all you can eat Chinese food, cooked fresh and brought to your table. Good price as well.”
“The Brunswick is still a fantastic pub as it has been for the last 20years. Music every weekend, a brilliant selection of well kept ales. Decent prices. Excellent bar staff. One of Crewe's better places to wet your whistle”
“Stopped here on our way south. Room was basic but has everything you need, it was Very clean and you get tea/coffee etc Staff member on arrival was very friendly and helpful. Overall good place to stay, definitely recommend…”
“We arrived at 3:15 and were surprised how full the car park was but after parking and entering the restaurant found it was almost empty. The pub allows 20 minutes free parking and our arrival coincided with the school end time. As the pub was quiet we were told to take any table and we could order on the app, this proved difficult as some drinks are not shown on the app, so we ordered at the bar. The food came quit quickly and was excellent, the lady behind the bar who also served was very helpful and pleasant. Well done, we will come again when ‘up north’ from Sussex”
“All the staff are lovely, kind and courteous. They have the right balance of attentiveness. We enjoy our visits and, you're on the doorstep. Win, win. The small meals are perfect for us. Thank you”
“Great service throughout the whole process. Thank you”
“Best one , good service, good food”
“Fabulous quirky old coffee shop. I had a wonderful hot chocolate. Didn’t eat when I called in but the food I saw coming out to other customers looked delicious”
“I thought it only fair to update this review after my wife bought a couple of bacon baps for us this morning. It's several months since our last visit. What a difference! The baps were large, soft and delicious. They were appropriately buttered. The bacon was of the highest quality, plentiful and perfectly cooked. The best I've ever had. While I was eating, seated on a bench in the square, a passer-by looked down at the exposed interior and said "very generous", referring to the amount of bacon. I could only agree. I bet the astronauts on the ISS were nodding in agreement too. It feels so good to write a review like this: from appalling to world class in one jump. CONGRATULATIONS CHATWINS! A great result. Long may it continue. .............................................. Original review: Bought a bacon bap, late afternoon. The bacon must have spent the whole day in a heated tray. It was hard as glass. Went back the following morning to complain and buy two more with the bacon straight out of the oven. These were excellent and we were given a refund. A bit shocked that they would sell something that was SO bad. I wouldn't have given the first one to a dog. Chatwins, please get your act together.”
“Whenever I’m in Nantwich town I call into The Malbank lunchtime only for a drink I always found the staff and customers very friendly With what must be the cheapest drink prices in town and live Sky Sports etc the value can’t be beaten Recommended !”
“nice traditional pub great service good atmosphere”
“Lovely outlet at Crewe station, with plenty of food options- paninis, other savoury and sweet options. Both hot and cold coffees available. The staff were courteous. Quick service. Nominal price.”
“Lovely staff, lovely rooms, not super modern, but have everything. Stairs are a bit dated, but it totally suits the building, superbly clean. We would definitely stay here again, especially for the price. Ample car free parking. If you're a train enthusiast, this is a must! It's opposite the train station. We visited Stoke on Trent and Nantwich, and both 20 minutes drive away. There were many more places about it, but we only stayed 2 days. Near Tesco express, macdonalds and loads of food delivery places.”
