“Braised beef cheek was probably the best thing I’ve eaten in a long time, meal was faultless, staff lovely. Guinness excellent (not a short pour, I took a sip!) I went late on a Sunday night so it was quieter. Absolute gem of a place, will be back.”

“I was there for a book signing. Author Francis Higgins.(you could die laughing). The bar was simular to me as I once lived around the corner in Greeland st. The bar is steeped in history with pictures of old Belfast. If you read the book it tells alot of these stories”

“We had a good pub experience. They have a very basic menu with limited options but good options. The beef with the Yorkshire pudding was good. Their beer options were good. Overall a good experience but a little pricier.”

“We come here regularly for food and cocktails I must say it is always a 10/10 but tonight we didn’t know how to feel by the fancy writing on the valentines menu and it was just the definition of don’t judge a book by its cover it was honestly the nicest food ever. Everything cooked to perfection and not to mention the cocktails are always on point. The staff are all amazing and so friendly especially our regular waitress seaneen!!!”

“Stayed here a few times for work. The rooms are varied but the last one I had was enormous and very cosy. The cooked breakfast is excellent too, the food was good quality. However the continental breakfast was a bit lacking, better pastries and some more dietary options are needed! I had to ask specifically for non dairy milk (come on, it's so common) and no non dairy options on the table for yoghurt or milk.”

“We stayed for our friend’s wedding, which was amazing. The staff were all lovely and always smiling, and the rooms were gorgeous. The food at the wedding was amazing. The rooms were lovely and well looked after. However there was a lot of hair on the bed and found on the shower head and inside the bottom of the Dyson hair dyer. The fridge in the room was a nice add, however when we checked out the prices it put us off completely. £3.50 for Pringles which you could get a big box of Pringles at the shop for £2.00. On the bright side, we went for lunch the following day and it was gorgeous. We had strawberry daiquiris for £15.00, which was a bit pricey, but they were so nice that we still bought them. However, if someone is paying to stay, they expect decent prices.”

“Went to the Gurriers gig on Sunday, great set up and a good night. Had an accidental head clash in Enola Gay's mosh pit and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Darron patched me up and got me back in the pit before the end of their set thanks mate!”

“Absolutely brilliant place very nice family meal highly recommended does it take awhile for your food to come so you need to be patient staff are very friendly and are willing to help you out with anything whatsoever and always comes around to ask you if you need anything and how is your food etc”

“My sister and I popped into 'The National' for a late breakfast before heading to Belfast Castle. We very much enjoyed our refreshing strawberry lemonades and the bunch baps we had were delicious. The server we had was friendly and efficient and they didn't mind when we wanted to move to the Garden as it was such a sunny day. The inside is decorated well, but the garden was lovely to sit in and enjoy our food. I would definitely come back as I very much enjoyed my time there. Might pop in later for a drink to see what it's like in the evening.”

“Great food at very good prices, you can sit in or have a takeaway. The customer toilets was very clean. The restaurant was spotless. We had a variety of food and it all was good. Portion sizes was very big. Staff are very pleasant would definitely eat here again.”

“Amazing restaurant and cocktail bar situated in dundonald near the hospital! We went on the night of the euros final so the restaurant was perfectly quiet and the staff were very friendly and held great conversations with us. The food was amazing and we were surprised with how nice it was as it was our first time being there. Will definitely be back soon!”

“This bar / restaurant is huge , the place was packed but the nice man on the door managed to squeeze us in . Very friendly staff . As we was being shown to our sits we passed a live band , was such a great atmosphere. The meals were very quick and very big . Everything was very fresh . Excellent price , staff very attentive always making sure we had everything we needed. Toilets were lovely and clean too . Would definitely recommend this place , might be better to book as does get busy .”

“We stumbled on this gem while travelling Ireland. The food was incredible - the chicken curry and the chicken and corn cream were delicious. Very friendly staff and excellent service. Definitely worth stopping in for great food at great value!”
