“Went on a Sunday afternoon, had a short wait for a table. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Didn’t wait too long for food. The food was nice and so was the cakes. Place was kept clean.”

“As a Freemason, I visited for a lodge meeting (the Lodge uses the building). What a wonderful place, very nicely decorated and a great setting. Food was excellent, and while I'm no Trifle fan, those who had it, were very clearly happy with it, none survived the dinner! I look forward to coming back again when the lodge meets again, and hopefully explore some more.”

“Admittedly I hadn't been to Shibden Park in about 30 years, so it was nice to call in here for breakfast on our bank holiday weekend visit to my homeland. My partner had the large breakfast, which for the price was excellent. Lovely hashbrown! My teen daughter had the medium and I had a bagel and creme cheese. We have cappuccinos and an English tea. Plenty of seating outside and in, dog friendly both inside and out too. I am pleased I got to experience the cafe and park again in a less busy climate. Beautiful place full of memories ✨️”

“What a find!! We only stayed the one night however, we hope to return and stay longer and explore the area. Our room was lovely, clean, tidy, well decorated and with the river right by our window a relaxing sound before falling asleep. With the kitchen area on display it was nice to see where your breakfast was prepared. The breakfast choice was varied and expertly cooked. Decor throughout was tasteful for type and age of the building. Trevor, the owner, was so polite and had a great sense of humour, he was a right laugh. A real gem of a find is Over the Bridge. Highly recommend!!”

Absolutely wonderful and charming hosts that make the most delicious breakfast. The room was very comfortable and clean, with a green garden view. Bev and Chris - thank you so much! “Loved it here & we'll definitely be going back. Lovely pint of stout, fair prices, really friendly & comfortable with a welcoming atmosphere. They've got an interesting selection of drinks which a lot of thought has obviously gone into. The downstairs reminds me of an old tap room & the upstairs, a snug. Really good micropubs like this one are putting 'shall we pop out for a couple?' back on my list of midweek after-work activities. Doesn't take as many people to make it feel like a social gathering, and that's the thing that makes a couple of hours out, a really enjoyable break from the grind. Try it, I guarantee you'll enjoy it & it'll do your mental health the world of good to get away from work & the house & be amongst people.”

“Little gem in Calverley. The Little Coffee House has a cosy atmosphere with friendly and kind hosts. I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on toast. The scrambled eggs were perfect - fluffy and delicious. They were melting in my mouth. Smoked salmon excellent complimented eggs with light saltiness and smokiness. My latte was creamy and smooth. It's definitely a place to return and try other items from the menu. Thank you!”

“Has had a lovely refresh since new ownership. A place with actual decent coffee and a children's play space is the ultimate dream for parents. Lots of space for pram parking . There is a step to enter but staff are helpful with getting you in. There is a changing table in the toilet (which is very clean) complete with emergency supplies! The children's lunchbox is also a great deal. Edit 15/8/25 I continually come back to Golden Linings due to the warm welcome from the staff, nothing is too much trouble whether you're there for 10 minutes or 2 hours. I will be sad to be not be here so often once I'm off Maternity Leave!”

“Little gem of a tea room! Excellent selection of good priced food. Food excellent quality & portions good too. (3 adults visiting with a dog) Tried their bacon sandwich which was freshly made with plenty of bacon in a soft bap. Coffees made fresh, so we ended up staying long enough for a second round of coffees with cakes (gingerbread man, millionaires shortbread, cornflake tart…..all good value and would easily beat the competition for quality). We’ll certainly be back as there were other good valued meals advertised that we’d like to have tried too. Easily accessible location, and happy to accept dogs (they get as much attention as the humans!)”

The staff were incredibly welcoming and generously shared their knowledge of puppetry, which made the experience even more special. It’s truly a hidden gem in the area. The café offers an excellent selection of vegetarian dishes, all equally delicious. Everything looked freshly made, and the service was outstanding. Highly recommended!”
