“Went for Sunday roast dinner. It was fabulous, served on large plates, choice of meats, great value. Beautiful tasty food, good size portions. Fantastic friendly staff. Highly recommended.”
“Right on my doorstep. We find it a great pub with welcoming hosts. Good beer garden for summer months.”
“trevors quiz night on a thursday is brilliant”
“This is a great little pub, but unfortunately there is no hand pulled beer here. No food is served here. The staff are very friendly. Great night out at the weekend. A new 'turn' every Saturday night. I attended a birthday party have recently and it also makes a great venue for small to medium sized groups.”
“My first time trying the Bankhouse since it reopened! Beautiful views, really fresh food and lovely drinks + friendly people behind the bar and out n about in the restaurant/beer garden. This is probably one of the best beer gardens in the Pudsey area - the sounds of birds are so enjoyable as you look out onto the valley. For a non alcoholic summer drink I recommend the blackberry spritz - very sweet and refreshing without being too tangy. The club sandwich was DIVINE and the chefs hadn't scrimped on fillings. The meat was trusting and the salad leaves, cucumber and peppers were fresh and crunchy. The chips were the same vibe too! The portion size was nice and filling after a walk. It has always been a perfect location for a post stroll bite to eat but very enjoyable. You can expect to pay around £12.95 for dishes like sandwiches but the other pub classics are a bit more, you're looking at around 17/18 quid :)”
“Classic English pub. Very friendly staff, who can pull a good Guinness. Pub quiz on Wednesday, and they serve free food during. Lovely place.”
“It was Friday teatime and the pub was packed. The customers were really nice and healpful to us, being strangers. They had two real ales on, both of which were spot on. We could happily stayed for a session but had a booking elsewhere.”
“Absolutely fab! Great staff, great atmosphere and fab drinks menu...you'll have to go in about 2 and fall weeks due to refurbishment and from what's been said, the pub will be totally upgraded and made even better! Me and Zoe looking forward to going back in again. I would highly recommend this pub to everyone who' loveca great atmosphere and ambience!!”
“The Jug is an excellent pub with friendly staff and friendly customers :). There's always entertainment going on weather it be live bands/singers or sports on the tvs. I would highly recommend the Jug and barrel to all types of people and family's x”
“Highly recommend. I went to the Calverley Arms to treat my Grandparents for a Christmassy meal and it was amazing. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxing and the staff were beyond helpful and lovely. We ordered from the festive menu, we had the Sea bass, the chicken/pancetta/leak pie and a steak, with salted caramel profiteroles and sticky toffee pudding for dessert, it was all incredible. The chefs Danny and Amber cooked everything to perfection. All of the staff were lovely, but our servers Louise and Ellie were so friendly and were more than accommodating with slight changes to the food to suit my grandparents. Can’t recommend enough and will definitely go back.”
“Just stopped here in passing and had a delicious flapjack and tiffin. Hot chocolate and latte was also good.”
“Fab brewery. You would not expect size of it,few different areas to sit & enjoy drinks and food. Defo will visit again!”
“Helped me out when I was in a panic, great staff and always a good crowd in the pub”
“Beautiful location on the river at Saltaire. Lovely decor and wide range of food and drinks. Excellent prices and the food was very tasty. My Caesar Salad had two very large pieces of chicken. My friend who is coeliac was well catered for. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Water and treats available for dogs too.”
“A good old fashioned "local pub". Ideal for the real ale drinker. Plenty of televisions for those who want to watch football. Always plenty of staff, so you are not waiting ages, to get your round in. However the noise is something to contend with. Because of the televisions, customers are shouting over the noise, to hold conversations. At times it can be overwhelming.”
“I planned a surprise meal for my husband’s 60th birthday for 18 of us and what an evening to remember Everything was perfect which includes the food, staff and service they couldn’t have done any better. I will definitely return and would highly recommend this place. A big thank you for all involved”
“Nice local pub, friendly and reasonably priced”
“As good a pub as you will find anywhere. Was served by a pleasant charming lady.”
“Great pub, with an enthusiastic landlord really trying to make it a success. Situated next to the canal a great location. Good range of ale's. Dog friendly. Great food. I had the best burger fries and slaw ever. Presentation was excellent and the ratio of bun to burger was spot on. Would certainly revisit.”
“A beautiful pub with delicious food, friendly staff and gorgeous decor. I'd highly recommend the steak and ale pie. Extra bonus that they are dog friendly. Perfect place to go after a long rainy walk & sit by the open fire to warm up.”
“Food was so tasty and quality, we took 3 course, thought i wouldn't be able to breathe again :)))) amazing atmosphere, warm, cozy... and very friendly staff. Bravo!”
“Had a really nice time here and enjoyed some top quality food. The bartender Lincoln couldn't have done more for us if he tried. A lovely place with great food and a brilliant atmosphere, a must go to if you visit Halifax.”
“Stayed here for the night while myself and Mum saw a concert at peace hall the staff where lovely and welcoming the DJ outside during the day played all the best music and the roast chicken wrap van was a very nice touch. The rooms where clean and the beds where extremely comfortable we will definitely be staying here again if we are in the area Thanks for a great stay”
“Polite friendly staff clean and tidy food nice just could of been hotter nice little pub inside”
“Didn't eat, but beer was great. Well kept ales, great prices, and they are part of the CAMRA discount and voucher scheme, which meant my pint cost £3.25. Amazing value. Great atmosphere, too, with 2 different footy matches on as well as a northern soul event.”
“the food is really good and delicious comes out really quick and the staffs really friendly and helpful and really attentive especially the young gentleman with a slick back and moustache he’s really friendly and will definitely make you laugh and make you feel welcome definitely coming back again”
“Brilliant pub now it has been taken over by the owner of the Murgatroyd Arms just round the corner. Inside is very similar as before but the outdoor seating and shelter is a lot better now to sit out and have a drink.”
