“Visited here tonight with some work friends for a Christmas meal - haven't been in the pub for a few years but impressed with the renovations. We all ate from the Christmas menu - the food was fantastic with all 3 courses. Tables around us were eating from the normal menu and what they had looked delicious. Great service from staff too. “One of the better Wetherspoons out there. Food is consistent, pleasant and well priced. It seems to be well managed; clean with incredibly friendly team and the kitchen appears to be well run. Table service is great and glassware is always quite clean. Quiet location, but nice; however it can be a struggle to park.”

“A great weekend in Ilkley staying at this hotel for the first time. Excellent breakfast, lovely, friendly staff, very comfortable room and WiFi throughout the hotel which is a bonus in Ilkley. We shall use the hotel again.”

“A good place for family gatherings, work parties or any get together. You can bring your own food and they have a bar where you can buy drinks. The hall is big enough for around 100 people. A smaller hall is also available for small groups. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.”

“Just arrived in Bradford for the night and wanted to have a decent pint. Had read recommendations for the Shoulder of Mutton and it did not disappoint. Gorgeous pub, full of charm and clearly a place with the community at its heart and soul. Full of history (former butchers, hence the name), with a no phone policy - YES, have a conversation!! - and a love for all things Bradford. Thank you for having us xx”

“Amazing place. Too bad it is not advertised and the location is not exactly...central. Prices were a bit high for the location but they use home made, farm grown products. First place in Leeds I had real home made sausages. The ambient is warming and welcoming, plenty of space both indoor and outdoor.”

“Went in for a game of pool and a lovely chat on a Wednesday night. All of the locals were very friendly and the bar staff were quick and polite. The music they were playing was amazing, solid 10/10 bangers over and over again, was probably in there for a couple hours and they didn't disappoint once. Looking forward to my next visit in the future.”

“Meant to put this review on a few weeks ago! We went in on the Sunday night of the Saltaire festival and the guy that was working there (ahhh we asked his name but didn’t write it down so sadly we have forgotten his name!) was just SO lovely! His customer service skills stood out in a day and age where sadly customer service skills are lacking in many, many establishments. He was friendly and chatty and genuinely looked happy to be there in his place of work. 10/10 We look forward to popping in again.”

“havent been to this pub for almost 2 decades. I know it had been due to close but rescued and very glad it has. Its kept its atmosphere while being modern. Nice conservatory and plenty of green space for kids (and adults) to enjoy. I won't leave it so long next time to visit.”

“I have been here a couple of times before. A really atmospheric old world pub with a great selection of 6 real ales. Paulicarus spotted Hey Jude, from local small brewery Darkland. It was a bit thin with not much flavour but a new brewery for me to tick off. The Taylor's Landlord was great. There is a pool table and TV's. Not far from the Piece Hall. Well worth a visit.”
