“Just a last minute decision to go out, and saw this place As soon as we walked through the door we were welcomed and the staff were so attentive. Great choice of dishes to suit all tastes. The food is freshly cooked and served hot in stainless steel puts with lids to keep them warm. They do not serve alcohol, but I can recommend the mango lassie, great flavour. All in all a pleasant experience, and we would go again.”

“Lovely wholesome food, would highly recommend. Tried the masala fish which was flavourful and fresh. Lamb karahi which was made as requested, soft tender meat and really well balanced spices and aromas. The fresh ginger and chillies were perfect. Definitely try if you love authentic pakistani/afghani food, we visited from London and was pleased to see this place hasn't just become a tiktok famous place like many other restaurants who don't care about the food.”

“Went for Aldo's tonight and didn't realise that they had joined with Chakkra. Was lovely to have a mixture of cuisines with the same quality as authentic individuals. We had the cauliflower 65 and chicken trio starters which were delicious and we can't wait to go back and try the mains. Staff were super friendly and helpful.”

“We did not stay here so no stars for the rooms. However, we did eat here and it was tremendously good value and quality. I had the steak and ale pie, with mash and garden peas. the pie is served in the pot and has a nice puff pastry topping. The filling was incredible. There were huge chunks of tender, flavoursome steak. (It made the old Pedigree chum adverts look like they were advertising mincemeat.) I cannot comment on the puddings as we were too full from our main courses to eat one. Very friendly staff, fantastic beers, kept well and served well.”

“This stay was part of a road trip staying in similar ancient coaching inns. This one definitely had a more modern feel to it. The room was to a high standard and the bed was the comfiest on the trip. Breakfast was excellent. The bar is cosy and a nice place to pass a few hours. Car park was fun! But if you can get parked it is free. Great location. Staff were all great.”

“My regular chinese takeaway was closed and I found the orient. Its a little gem tucked away. The lady who took my order was absolutely lovely and food was ready in minutes and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely returning again soon x”

“Great, iconic restaurant in Central Bradford. I went for lunch. It wasn't busy. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was beautiful and inexpensive. Fab. I massively over ordered, having a mixed starter, then a chicken biryani and a chai. Could easily have done without the main because the starter (pictured) was huge.”

Food was served prompt and actually very tasty. Got a great deal for a starter and a main for around £13. So the deal is its cash only and you need to bring your own beer and wine....I will return!!”

Portion sizes are very generous so you may want to share (even if you don’t want to!). “The conference lunch was delicious, and everything throughout our stay was excellent. We come here quite often, and this experience was good as always. Highly recommended! Silvia was extremely professional and made our visit exceptional. She helped check us in for our conference and hosted the entire event perfectly. We also saw her serving at the bar and look after reception — she truly does it all. After speaking with her, we learned she is a Supervisor, and it’s clear why. Very dedicated. We sure be back. Rudi was also very professional and those ladies looked after us regularly.”

“What a lovely place! I went with my family and friends, and we enjoyed every minute of it. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambience was warm and inviting. It’s clear they put thought and care into every detail. I would definitely recommend it and will be returning again. The only downside is that, due to roadworks, there is currently no parking available, which can be a bit inconvenient. However, the overall experience more than made up for it. If you’re looking for a great spot to enjoy a meal with loved ones, this place is absolutely worth a visit!”
