“The friendliest gent I’ve ever known served me, I guess he is one of the owners. I will remember this humble, honest and happy cafe for all the right reasons, forever. Thanks :-)”
“An absolutely wonderful experience. First time have visited and what a treat. The menu is seasonal. The food was delicious well flavoured and cooked to perfection. Staff are wonderful very welcoming and great knowledge of dishes served and the wine menu. Can't wait to go back.”
“Absolutely wonderful, came today with friends although was very busy, staff were still very welcoming and lovely and polite, and still got our meals and drinks at a reasonable time! Even when other customers just left a table, the staff cleaned it up asap for us even tho they were busy! Defo recommend”
“Me and my partner went here after being recommended by a chef I work with and it was fabulous! I tried the lobster special and it was the best lobster I’ve ever had, the potato salad and bisque was insane and everything was ultimately tasty. We also tried the beef croquettes, oysters and prawns for starters which were all delicious and perfectly prepared, my partner absolutely adored the chocolate pot for dessert as well. The wine list is perfect, I had the cheapest vinho verde as wanted to spend more on my food and it was still fantastic. Only thing I wouldn’t recommend was the margarita but that’s just my personal preference (no salt rim, not on the rocks so if you like that then go for it!) Our servers were great too, extremely good service thank you guys!”
“La Tana is truly the best Italian restaurant in Brighton! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious—each dish is bursting with authentic flavors that transport you straight to Italy. Since our first visit, we've returned three times because we just can't get enough! The service is impeccable; the staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about providing a great dining experience. What makes La Tana stand out even more is that the entire kitchen team is Italian, which really shines through in the quality and authenticity of the food. You can tell every dish is cooked with love and dedication. Highly recommend for anyone craving genuine Italian cuisine in Brighton. We’ll definitely be back again soon!”
“I had the best night at The Gingerman and now consider it one of the best dining experiences in Brighton. The food was to die for. Though not cheap (except a ridiculously good value prawn to start), it is well worth a visit on a special occasion. The staff and service and ambience created an unforgettable evening that will be difficult to replicate. To start I had snacks salmon tacos and a grilled prawn. Despite the salmon tacos being delicious, the prawn stole the show, being meaty and sweet, and for £3.50 with the seaweed Alioli, I cannot complain. For starters, the bbq squid was the best looking dish of the night, stunning, with perfectly cooked squid, a sauce maybe a touch too sweet, but interesting textures and bold flavours. For mains, the lamb saddle could’ve been cut with a butter knife, paired with some simple but lovely veg, a jus made from the belly and some majorly crispy 100-layer chips, and you’re on to a real winner. The puddings were also solid, and a great way to end a great meal!”
“Stunning Italian food! I've often remarked that after eating in Italy the British counterpart bares very little resemblance and thus I stopped eating Italian food in the UK, until now! Perfectly cooked food, fantastic ingredients with a modern twist and it seems that Brighton agrees as it is often booked up at least week in advance. The ambiance is fantastic too, with seating on high stools around the bar, so you can often see what fellow diners are noshing on and get inspiration, if not for that visit, then the next. On my last visit I had a pea, broad bean and feta bruchetta, then for main course rabbit and pancetta, forgive me as I can't remember the exact names. If you enjoy Italian food, and let's face it who doesn't, do yourself a huge favour and book as soon as you can. Can not recommend enough!”
“I like this place very much, it just a little burguer where you can find cheap burgers and drinks, the burgers are really big and goods. I put a photo where you can see 2 double burgers + 2 drinks + Onion Rings + sauce, all of this cost just 15£”
“Come here because of the Google reviews and we was in the area. We live 5 hours away. Almost walked past the entrance, what a cute little place! Both mum and daughter was lovely, daughter was friendly and bubbily. Me and Mrs both ordered toasted sandwiches which where very very nice. All real food. Cooked perfectly. Had a milkshake and iced frappe. Both very nice. Lovely outdoor sitting area on a nice day. Price is as expected for a small family run place however felt it was worth it!. We probably won't be here again as don't pass through often. So felt a review would be a good way to thank them for the amazing lunch and service!”
“First time using them Only had a large huss cook fresh batter golden brown and crisp lots flavver will use again the young man that served me polite and full off beans spot on 11 out off 10”
“We visited this restaurant for a meal as part of a hen do, and it was absolutely perfect! I had the vegan moussaka, which was amazing—one of the best I've ever had. Everyone in our group loved their food too; everything was delicious. The decor is so cute and really made us feel like we were on holiday. The staff were incredibly lovely and made our evening even more special. Highly recommend!”
“Full English Breakfast, Yummy !”
“Had the tastiest burger and waffle fries at the diner. Plus the halloumi was incredible. The servers were great and super helpful - even though we came in near closing time. Shout out to Ellie, Nikki, and Steve. Can't wait to come back!”
“I had such a great experience at this restaurant! It was my second time trying Greek food, and it was completely different from my first time elsewhere. Both were so good, I tried different dishes. The food was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. What made it even better was the staff, they were so friendly, attentive, and made me feel really welcome. I’ll definitely be coming back!”
“This is our fifth time here and absolutely loving it! Amazing well marinated perfectly barbecued meats Generous portions- the meal for 3- well a family of four couldn’t finish it! We got so much to go Staff are friendly and check on us Toilet was clean too Photo is of our to-go box!!”
“Really loved the scene and vibes here on a Sunday morning . The eggs Benedict was perfect, couldn't have asked more to start the day.”
“I love this cafe. Can be difficult to get a seat due to its popularity. But I can't say anything bad about it. The smashed avocado with poached eggs, crispy bacon, sourdough toast and pimenton is unbelievable and possibly one of my favourite breakfasts/brunches. I definitely recommend”
“Friendly service, always with a smile and good laugh from everyone at Lex’s. I go after my weekly sea swimming group and they always make us feel welcome. A must visit for anyone new to the beach or Hove.”
“I'm a planner. Wherever I go, I usually have a spreadsheet of carefully researched places to eat and drink on trips, so we're not left disappointed. So it was an unexpected delight to stumble upon this cafe, entirely by chance. We were so impressed with our first visit, we visited again, the next day on our short two day trip. Firstly, the menu is huge. We literally wanted to try everything. Every dish has something unique about it that has clearly been thought through. The food was stunning. Perfect. We had lunch one day (mushrooms on toast), and breakfast the next (pancakes and full English) and both were as good as each other. I don't say this lightly, when I say, they make the best hash browns I've ever had. I've tried making hash browns through my love for them and I've left feeling jealous at how they got these so perfect. Delicious drinks - coffees, juices and smoothies all made fresh. Unlike most cafes - they didn't do my pet hate and fill the glass with ice, which waters down the juice - winner! The service was attentive, friendly and speedy (on both visits). We are going to be telling everyone about this absolute gem and will visit as soon as we're back in Brighton.”
“Fabulous pub! Quirky, eclectic interior with a good range of drinks on tap, plus some interesting cocktails. Get there before 7pm and some of the prices are cheaper too. And the Thai food is outstanding - great spicy portions at a very reasonable price. A total gem.”
“We went there for lunch on a Friday. We had made a booking, but it wouldn't have been necessary. We got the lunch menu, which at £35 per person and the quality of the food is great! They started us off with bread and butter, which was delicious. The bread was sourdough bread, and had a really nice and deep flavor with a sour hint to it. As a starter, we got the ravioli filled with salmon. The pasta itself was nicely cooked, the filling was delicious with the right amount of salmon, and the accompanying sauce acidic to break through the richness of the ravioli. As a main we got the Gilt-Head Bream with gnocchi. The fish was crispy, but its flesh cooked just right, flaky and tender. The gnocchi were light and cloud-like. For dessert we got the cheese, and although it's not a dish that they have made themselves, the Montgomery Cheddar was a nice way to end the meal. Service was impeccable: friendly and at the right pace. Moreover, at the end Chef Duncan himself came up to check on us and see how we enjoyed the meal, which was a nice touch. Next time I visit Brighton I'll try to make a point to try to have dinner at the Little Fish Market.”
“Great food here, a traditional greasy spoon.”
“Iv been working in Brighton for 6 months and tried a few places to eat until i found the station cafe. Don't bother looking else where because you won't find a better cafe in Brighton. The staff were very friendly and enjoyed the banter .as for the food its 10/10 . All there meat is from local butchers and not cheep cash and carry stuff .hats off to all the staff and owners .keep up the good work and i will be definitely coming back next time im in Brighton”
“What a lovely cafe if your ever in Brighton try this cafe what great food, good price and lovely welcoming people.”
“We had another amazing experience at Fanoos. It was my birthday and everything was excellent. Thank you so much Koroush and the team for creating such a beautiful place. The food was delicious, the service was great and the atmosphere was delightful. Recommended 100%”
“Huge breakfast and very reasonably priced. Staff were lovely and food arrived very quickly. Cash only which caught me out so had to drive to cashpoint after funding a rare parking space.”
“Amazing food (highly recommend the Italian toastie), amazing iced coffees and amazing cakes to top it all off. Great location in the heart of the lanes with a wonderful atmosphere, super quick friendly service, couldn’t recommend more”
“This wonderful little bistro is to be found up a side street in Rottingdean. My wife and I dropped in for lunch. Coincidentally we both chose the same dishes, the crayfish and avocado to start with the crépè rustic for the main, both were excellent.”
“I’ve been here a couple times and it always taste as good as it looks, there are large selections of Italian foods from Pastas, Rissotos, Pizzas and the best Gelatos. We’ve ordered the Calamari Fritti and is well seasoned and very crispy we’ve also ordered the famous Crab Spaghetti and is very delicious( Note: If you ordered the Crab Spaghetti I advised sharing with your friends or family the amount on of food you get is a lot and more than I’ll expect), the ravioli is decent as well and in terms of the service is really good the young lady server she decided to gift my friend an extra scoop of ice cream. :D”
“Honestly, one of the best cafes I’ve ever been to. One of the last great traditional cafes, but with a fresh and exciting vegan menu that makes sure everyone feels included. The staff here were absolutely delightful too. Couldn’t recommend enough. Super affordable too! Very small inside and outside though so if it’s peak times you might struggle for a table.”
