“A beautiful experience! The whole set up is so dainty and precious, the room is small and intimate with some seating on the street too. The owner is attentive and welcoming, and provides excellent service. The food was delicious, and the perfect amount too. Highly recommend - this was a highlight of our trip!”

“This is my favourite restaurant in town. I especially love the generously filled bahn mi, the Laos minced pork dish, the Northern Thai specials (make sure you check the little board behind the server), the pork broths and the green papaya salad. We're so lucky to have this on our doorstep”

“A cozy cafe that I happened to stumble upon. The rhubarb crumble was amazing. The portions for the main dishes are also big which is awesome. Really nice atmosphere, as the locals eat here as well, and they were very kind”

“Quirky little tea shop in a post office full of charm and character. A returning customer as just love it here. Booking advised as can get busy. Garden is country rambling with fresh cut flowers in small jars on your table and hand stitched table cloths. Different areas around the garden depending on the mood you want - under a sailing sheet gazebo, small tables, iron tables, for two / four or more persons. Tea sets are vintage-esque with a selection of china / silver style tea pots. Scones come on tiered cake plates; 4 ‘no crust’ sandwich fingers per person + a huge slice of cake (have had a dry slice on one visit hence 4 not 5 on the score). Many varieties of tea + hot chocolate \ coffee available and alcohol to accompany your cream tea if you want. Savouries also available but not tried yet. Toilet available and found by meandering through the kitchen garden - rustic charm! A charming place to relax away the afternoon and leave feeling very full. One item to note - 10% service charge automatically added to your bill.”

“Ali on reception Is and was fantastic!. He was professional and very friendly and helpful. I think my room number was 316 when I encountered a problem with the use of the shower/bath he was very helpful with this helping me being later in the evening on a Saturday...Room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet! “We had a fantastic stay at the Main Manor House with a group of friends. The house has everything that you need and is in a great location. The house itself is comfortable and full of history. The grounds are very well maintained and there are lots of activities on site or nearby. We would really recommend visiting!”

“We had a lovely lunch there. I got a jacket potato with coronation chicken, and a lovely salad. My husband got a panini. The service was friendly and prop mpt. The bathrooms were clean. And there is even a play area for the kiddos, inside the restaurant!”

“We took our grandchildren to the Christmas afternoon tea experience today & it was fabulous. It was so well organised. Tables were prepared for each booking with name badges & food already in place. Father Christmas & Mrs Christmas visited each child & they were given an age appropriate gift that our grandchildren loved. The food was pitched just right for both children & adults & we all had a great time. There was also a later photo opportunity with Father Christmas by the Christmas tree. We'll done to everyone involved in making this such a great event.”

“Just revisited after a range of improvements have been made by the new owners. The hotel/bar/restaurant has a much better flow to it now and the bedrooms have been decluttered, leading to a much better look, with a place now for your luggage. Rooms seem really good value for the area. Would definitely come back again.”

“I love this place !! Best Chinese food in the south let alone Crawley !!! Staff are always so friendly and they always cater for what I need !! “Everything was very good. It was easy to check in, the room was clean and fresh, so were the beds and towels. We had a TV, tea and coffee facilities, a good shower, also an extra heater if it was chilly and even a hair dryer. It was very good value for money and the lady who met us on arrival was very friendly. The location was excellent we had a coffee shop and a pub plus lots of shops at one end of the street and a five minute walk to the beech at the other end. There was lots of independent eateries and bars within a short walk. We were also only about a 10 or 15 minute walk from the Royal Pavilion and the Museum or the Lanes and the shops. It was also on a very good bus route.”

“We are staying here currently and we were a bit worried beforehand after reading all the bad reviews but honestly I believe people’s expectations are way too high. You really are paying for what you get, so if you would like a 5 star hotel then that is what you should go pay for. The rooms, while yes, dated, do what they are intended for. The hotel is located right by the beach so there is lots to do and you only really need to sleep here so the hotel is perfect for that, especially at the cheap prices it has. The shower in our room had the best water pressure I have ever felt and the beds are comfy. The rooms are very clean also. The staff are lovely and very helpful, so thank you for that. And again, to reiterate, the reviews here appear to be left by people who have high expectations for an affordable hotel. We would definitely stay here again!”
